Services for connected eBike mobility: Bosch presents the Connected Biking Platform

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Modern eBike mobility is seamlessly integrated into people’s everyday digital lives. This gives rise to new opportunities for companies from the bike, mobility and service world: the development of attractive digital offers for their customers, optimised processes and innovative business models. With the Connected Biking Platform, Bosch eBike Systems now offers a digital basis for the development of new eBike services and provides with standardised interfaces and expertise. Our Connected Biking Platform is becoming a central component of the digital ecosystem around the eBike. We are creating opportunities for industry players to develop their own digital offerings. The first partners are already connected and are shaping connected eBike mobility together with us....Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems From connectivity to new possibilities The connected eBike is at the centre of the new platform. The system continuously records important information such as status, configuration, use and service data via the Bosch ConnectModule. This creates a level of knowledge about the entire life cycle of the eBike, from delivery to operation and remarketing. For secure integration, Bosch eBike Systems provides a modular toolbox of standardised interfaces and digital modules. For example, partners can use this information for their own applications via Cloud APIs for the ConnectModule and the eBike Flow app. Added value for the bike industry: development, service and new offers These insights into the complete life cycle of an eBike open up new ways for the entire bike industry to simplify processes and continuously enhance the riding experience for end customers. New models can be specifically adapted to real use profiles, maintenance and support are strengthened with efficient service, and app providers can develop innovative digital offerings. eBike manufacturers receive valuable insights into the actual use of their connected models based on the comprehensive information base. Knowledge about stock levels, functions used or the system status helps in developing future models and equipment in a more targeted manner. Operational processes can also be simplified: test fleets can be managed efficiently and transport to retailers can be secured with the tracking option. In addition, eBike manufacturers can develop their own apps or subscription services and place their own branded content directly in the eBike Flow app via “Content Cards”. Specialist dealers benefit from the option of being able to organise their own rental or test fleets even better on this basis. The overview of the location and availability of each eBike makes management much more efficient and also increases theft protection. App and service providers can connect their services to the eBike Flow app via the Connected Biking Platform and therefore reach a large, active eBike community. Once integrated, the interface enables seamless exchange between the two platforms. This creates a consistent experience for shared users and a valuable basis for the further development of our own services. Partners such as komoot are already connected here. New potential for fleet operators, leasing providers and insurance companies The Connected Biking Platform also opens up new options for professional mobility service providers: fleet operators can manage their eBikes more efficiently and minimise breakdowns, leasing providers can transparently track the value retention of their models, and insurance companies can minimise damage risks. The result is more reliable sharing services, transparent leasing conditions and comprehensible insurance rates. Fleet operators receive real-time information on the location, state of charge and use of each individual eBike. In the event of theft, the eBike can be located and the motor support disabled. Partners such as Papin and Tilia already have these options: for example, they can plan and control use, service and charging processes centrally. This enables proactive maintenance, reduces downtime and simplifies operation across many wheels. The fleet therefore remains reliably available. Mobility platforms can offer a complete solution with dashboards and booking apps for fleet and rental management with a clear competitive advantage. The advantage is a single, standardised interface for all eBikes with the smart system from Bosch. Partners such as allride (AMAG Group), Connected Cycle , Friiway , Joyride , OKGO and Velo de Ville are already using the Connected Biking Platform to help fleet and hire providers manage their eBikes or support dealers in selling eBikes through subscription models – without them having to invest in their own solutions. Leasing providers can transparently track the condition and service history of each eBike over the entire contract term. This ensures value retention, facilitates the technical appraisal during return and makes the evaluation of returns faster and more objective – the ideal basis for profitable remarketing. Leasing partners can also offer additional digital services by integrating them into the eBike Flow app. This creates a seamless experience for customers: they benefit from digital theft protection and can view their contract data directly in the eBike Flow app. Leasing providers are therefore given the opportunity to optimise customer lifecycle management and initiate follow-up leasing. Insurance companies benefit from alarm and GPS tracking functions that can help prevent theft and recover stolen bikes more quickly. A digital theft report also bundles all relevant data on the eBike and the incident. This enables significantly faster, partially automated claims processing and helps to calculate risks or rates accurately in future, based on real information. The Connected Biking Platform as the digital backbone of the eBike industry A reliable and secure technical basis is needed so that the variety of digital services for eBikers in the sector can continue to grow. The protection of personal data and information security are also a top priority for Bosch eBike Systems when working with its partners and are an integral part of the company’s principles. Modern encryption technologies and a system architecture are used to ensure that each eBike is individually protected. In addition, all data processed by Bosch eBike Systems is stored on European servers in accordance with strict European data protection law. Over-the-air updates also make it possible to keep security up to date at all times. The protection and conscious control of personal data by the user are at the centre of this. With the Connected Biking Platform, Bosch eBike Systems is creating a digital backbone that sets new standards. This offers partners countless options for shaping digital mobility. The Connected Biking Platform forms the basis for an ecosystem that grows with you. It is already providing compelling offers from the first partners, and simultaneously forming the foundation for tomorrow. “With the extensive components of our Connected Biking Platform, we are creating a real win-win situation: customers and partners can implement ideas easily, quickly and reliably, and therefore create a wide range of digital offers from which the constantly growing community of eBikers can benefit. The future of eBiking is happening now,” says Gregor Dasbach, Head of Digital Business at Bosch eBike Systems. Further information on the possibilities of the Connected Biking Platform can be found here.

IAA Mobility 2025: Bosch is shaping the new vehicle world with intelligent hardw ...

Munich, Germany – In the automotive industry, the Bosch name is synonymous with software. The technology company is demonstrating this to impressive effect at this year’s IAA Mobility in Munich. And there’s more: from a single source, Bosch also supplies hardware that’s tailored to the possibilities of the software – a compelling unique selling point for the company worldwide. “Bosch knows its way around software and hardware. Without sophisticated hardware, even the smartest car won’t move a single millimeter,” said Dr. Stefan Hartung, chairman of the Bosch board of management, at the trade fair. “Our aim is to continue playing a key role in shaping the industry in the age of software-driven mobility by offering tailored, intelligent solutions.” Bosch knows its way around software and hardware. Without sophisticated hardware, even the smartest car won’t move a single millimeter. Our aim is to continue playing a key role in shaping the industry in the age of software-driven mobility by offering tailored, intelligent solutions....Dr. Stefan Hartung, chairman of the Bosch board of management Initial indications point to success: Bosch has established a foothold in the software-driven world. One example is Bosch’s by-wire systems for braking and steering, which are considered a key technology for software-defined vehicles and automated driving. Here, the software takes control; a mechanical connection is no longer necessary. This is an important business for Bosch. With brake-by-wire and steer-by-wire, the company expects to achieve cumulative sales revenue of more than 7 billion euros by 2032. The market dynamics of this key technology will continue to accelerate in the 2030s. By-wire technology is a taste of what lies ahead for vehicle construction overall. “In the future, hardware will be designed to fit software requirements,” said Dr. Markus Heyn, member of the Bosch board of management and chairman of the Mobility business sector. In the future, hardware will be designed to fit software requirements,...Dr. Markus Heyn, member of the Bosch board of management and chairman of the Mobility business sector Bosch wants to turn cars into personal assistants In software-driven mobility, Bosch Mobility’s business continues to develop – from hardware with embedded software, to services, to completely independent software that manufacturers and partners then integrate into their ecosystems. “Whether stand-alone or interconnected, standardized, integrated, or decoupled – we can offer everything exactly as the customer wants it,” Hartung said. This is clearly having an impact: despite stagnating global vehicle production, weak demand, and delays in electromobility and automated driving, Bosch Mobility will grow slightly in the current year. The increase in sales revenue is expected to amount to a little less than 2 percent. Up to today, a vehicle was never as new as the moment it was delivered. “In the future, however, its software will be continuously updated and it will be constantly learning by means of artificial intelligence,” Heyn said. “More than anything else, the new mobility is user centered.” This is what that looks like: Bosch’s Vehicle Motion Management software coordinates all vehicle movements by centrally controlling the brakes, steering, powertrain, and chassis. This improves coordination between the individual systems – and also means they can be adjusted to the driver’s preferences. A particularly smooth ride today? A little more agility tomorrow? And jolt-free stopping the day after? No problem – at the touch of a button, the car feels completely different. Incidentally, Bosch’s Vehicle Motion Management is decoupled from the hardware, which makes it easy to use in different vehicle architectures. That’s not just theory, it’s happening: the Bosch software is in widespread use, with more than two dozen manufacturers in Europe, China, and Japan already having adopted it. Over the next three years, Bosch will be investing a nine-figure sum in Vehicle Motion Management and expanding its modular software and function portfolio across all domains. Vehicle Motion Management from Bosch works even better in combination with by-wire solutions, because the software can control the respective braking and steering actuators independently of the driver’s actions – for greater safety, improved convenience, or better vehicle dynamics. Bosch’s smart software makes the difference Bosch’s ADAS product family is also software-driven. For intelligent driver assistance systems, vehicle manufacturers can choose from three preconfigured variants that can then be put into production quickly and in a brand-specific way. Here, too, hardware and software can be integrated or purchased separately, depending on customer requirements. Both options benefit from a holistic approach: since Bosch understands the interaction between hardware and software, it can offer individually optimized solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing environments. Modern vehicles, which are designed and developed from a software standpoint, make use of ever fewer, but more powerful vehicle computers. These are a growth driver for Bosch: its high-performance computer business is currently growing by more than 5 percent every year, with automakers such as the BMW Group among the customers. Bosch also offers central vehicle computers that combine various functions, such as in driver assistance and infotainment, on just one control unit and one system on a chip (SoC). This saves space, costs, and energy. These systems have a modular structure and can flexibly integrate software from different manufacturers. In China, Bosch is supplying a high-performance computer to SAIC-GM to create a cockpit featuring artificial intelligence. Thanks to this AI cockpit, drivers can talk to their car in a completely natural way and interact with it as if it were a human being. Bosch’s knowledge and expertise make it a sought-after partner The software-driven future is fundamentally changing the automotive industry. Bosch wants to seize the opportunities this new world presents – and is in a good position to do so. Hardly any other company combines hardware and software expertise and global presence as seamlessly as Bosch. This makes the company a flexible and reliable partner for the development of intelligent and connected vehicles. After all, strategic partnerships are crucial, particularly where new business models and scalable software systems are concerned. In China, Bosch is already working with WeRide and Horizon Robotics on the development of systems for assisted and automated driving. In Europe, Bosch and the VW subsidiary Cariad are strategic partners in this area. Bosch assumes that such alliances will become increasingly important in the future, and that the proportion of software in vehicles will continue to rise – and with it, the benefits for drivers in the form of even safer and more convenient mobility.

Bosch and CARIAD are making automated driving even safer and more convenient with AI

Bosch and CARIAD are intensifying their cooperation within the Automated Driving Alliance: the partners are developing their software stack for Level 2 and 3 assisted and automated driving by making full use of artificial intelligence. To this end, Bosch and CARIAD are expanding their existing approaches to include state-of-the-art AI methods. This should lead to more powerful, more intelligent driver assistance systems that act as naturally as a human driver – taking the driving experience to a new level and making it even safer. The software stack covers all essential cognitive tasks of perception, interpretation, decision-making, and action. When it comes to getting automated driving systems onto the roads reliably and at scale, data and AI are the key....Mathias Pillin, CTO of Bosch Mobility Expanding the use of modern AI brings the Automated Driving Alliance another step closer to its major goal: Bosch and CARIAD want to make automated driving available to millions of private motorists, from the mass-market to the premium segment. Their goal is for the new driving functions to allow drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel in various driving situations. The first versions have been implemented in test fleets and are now being systematically trained and further developed on a daily basis with large amounts of data. A software stack for application in production projects will then be available from mid-2026 onward. The Volkswagen Group plans to integrate Bosch and CARIAD’s automated driving functions into its new architecture for software-defined vehicles. Covering the range from individual driving functions to the complete software environment, Bosch will also make this scalable solution available to other manufacturers worldwide in order to actively promote automated driving on a broad scale. The project team of the two companies thus impressively demonstrates that dedicated partnership, technological excellence, and a clear focus on goals lead to innovative European solutions. Peter Bosch, the CARIAD CEO, says: “We’re demonstrating that the German automotive industry has mastered the key technologies of artificial intelligence and automated driving. With the expertise of our developers and engineers, we are securing an integral part of Europe’s digital sovereignty. Our goal in the Alliance is to make the convenience and safety of automated driving systems accessible to as many people as possible so that they can gain valuable time when they’re in their car.” Mathias Pillin, CTO of Bosch Mobility, adds: “When it comes to getting automated driving systems onto the roads reliably and at scale, data and AI are the key. We can only rise to this challenge together if we work as equal partners and abandon ingrained mindsets. Together with CARIAD in the Automated Driving Alliance, we’re showing how this can work.” Use of AI in all technology components The Automated Driving Alliance has been using AI since the partnership begin – in, for example, the area of perception for functions such as object recognition. AI is now being used along the entire software technology chain: in everything from object recognition and the fusion of various sensors such as cameras and radars to decision-making and the safe automated control of the powertrain, steering, and brakes. In the future, the automated driving functions will be based on an end-to-end AI architecture in which all modules will become even more powerful and intelligent through the use of AI. At the heart of these developments is the use of state-of-the-art technology familiar from generative AI applications. Just as language models understand complex semantic relationships, the Automated Driving Alliance’s new AI stack can analyze urban traffic scenarios and anticipate both the current and potential behavior of road users from different sensor modalities. Bosch and CARIAD are making these technological advances within the framework of a modern engineering environment and comprehensive hardware strategy that will ensure scalable and future-proof implementation in all vehicle classes. End-to-end development of all technology elements with their own source code and intellectual property forms the basis of the development partnership. This enables complete technical control of the source code with clear standards for data protection, security, driving safety, and transparency, as well as the ability to generate innovations quickly and flexibly through source code optimization and then deliver them to customers. The developers design the architecture in such a way that the AI’s decisions and actions remain safe, traceable, and explainable. The software stack also lays the groundwork for the possible integration of multimodal AI approaches that link visual and linguistic information. Called vision-language-action (VLA) approaches, they can imitate the logical thinking and actions of humans. Such a step would enable even more efficient training and an even deeper understanding of complex traffic situations. For example, VLAs can help detect hidden risks while driving and facilitate the appropriate response. Large test fleet for daily training of driving systems The AI stack will make automated driving in the Level 2 and Level 3 range even more robust. Up to the start of production, performance will be steadily improved by continuously collecting enormous amounts of data in order to maximize the system’s safety and reliability. A comprehensive test and validation fleet on public roads is essential for this. The CARIAD and Bosch teams are working together worldwide, testing the driving functions on public roads in Europe, Japan, and the U.S. – underlining their ambitious plan to create a software stack for automated driving that can be used in many global markets. Development is data-driven, which means that the software can be imported into the test vehicles several times a day with new updates and optimizations to the source code. The technology is already being used in test vehicles such as the ID.Buzz and the Audi Q8. This year alone, hundreds of additional test vehicles will be equipped with a comprehensive set of sensors in order to collect high-quality data. That data helps developers further optimize the AI stack and analyze rare and complex driving situations, known as corner cases. Thanks to the development of an end-to-end, AI-supported software solution, assisted and automated driving will become even safer and more convenient for the consumer.

Security+ from Bosch Smart Home: 24/7 emergency assistance, even when you cannot ...

Stuttgart – Bosch Smart Home presents Security+, an innovative add-on service that significantly increases the level of security in its user’s home. Whether in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak, a quick response is crucial to minimise damage. The award-winning Bosch Smart Home alarm system already offers reliable protection and notifies its users directly on their smartphones in the event of an alarm. But what if you are not available at that very moment? The new Security+ service augments the alarm system with a 24/7 emergency call centre that provides personal assistance in an emergency and reliably coordinates with emergency contacts, the fire brigade or the police. The Security+ service integrates seamlessly into the existing Bosch Smart Home system and expands its functionality with professional support and smart camera functions.24/7 emergency assistance for all-round security Security+ offers a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the user does not respond, Security+ is automatically activated and the emergency call centre attempts to reach the person by telephone. If the individual cannot be reached, specified emergency contacts are contacted to assess the situation, if necessary, on site. If no further assistance is required, the alarm situation is deactivated. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates further measures and minimises damage by notifying the police or fire brigade. Thanks to its direct connection to relevant emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilise help immediately – because prompt intervention is crucial in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak. Bespoke emergency plans for individualised protection Another highlight of Security+ is the option of creating individualised emergency plans. Custom-tailored to meet the specific needs of the residents, these plans enable users to predefine their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. By contacting designated neighbours or people who have been entrusted with spare housekeys, Bosch security experts can assess emergency situations on site more quickly and accurately – and mobilise appropriate assistance. This ensures that precisely the right steps are taken in an emergency. To guarantee the security and confidentiality of personal information, all data is encrypted and stored in Germany and in accordance with strict data protection regulations. Advanced camera functions for optimal control Security+ also includes additional camera feature intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. Intelligent audio analysis enables indoor cameras to recognise specific sound patterns such as the noise of shattering glass or the sirens of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. In the event of danger, an alarm is triggered immediately and the users or the emergency call centre are notified so they can respond quickly. The expanded cloud storage for smart cameras ensures that no important recordings are lost: this is particularly important for subsequent evaluation or for use as evidence. The storage of up to 400 video clips with individually selectable clip lengths for thirty days is particularly useful for evaluating all relevant event recordings in case of an alarm and, if necessary, for presenting them to the police or the user’s insurance company. Innovative services for more security, convenience and flexibility Security+ expands the Bosch Smart Home system and offers its users maximum security, greater convenience and full flexibility. This service is part of a comprehensive portfolio of optional services that expand the functionality of the Bosch Smart Home system and thus ensure comprehensive security. Security+ is now available in the Bosch Smart Home app for €29.99 per month (including VAT), or at a discounted annual subscription for €299.99 in the Bosch Smart Home App. To celebrate the launch of the new service, customers will receive the first three months free.* *More information is available on the website or in the Bosch Smart Home App .

Even more riding comfort: Bosch expands eShift portfolio

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – From relaxed eBiking in the city to sporty tours on an eMountain bike: With the eShift electric gear shifting solution, Bosch eBike Systems integrates gears from various manufacturers into the smart system. Whether for manual or automatic gear shifting: This makes the eBike riding experience noticeably more comfortable. Now the portfolio is being expanded even further together with Shimano, TRP and Classified. The advantages of eShift are obvious: automatic gear shifting at the optimum time, more riding fun, less wear and tear and above all - a clear head for the flow. eShift is the solution for efficient and simple gear change - and will become increasingly popular in the future. With new functions and additional gears, we are expanding our existing portfolio and now offer eBike riders even greater convenience when choosing their eBike - from eUrban and Trekking eBikes to eMTBs,...Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems Automatic gear shifting: More compatible Drive Units and optimised software Bosch eBike Systems is now making the eShift automatic function available for almost all Drive Units in the smart system. 1 This means that eShift can be integrated into almost all eBike categories - and can therefore be experienced by even more people. The software of the automatic function has also been further optimised for a better riding experience. eShift reacts more directly to inclines, changes gears more quickly according to the riding dynamics and shifts more dynamically - adapted to the surface on which you are riding. New in the eShift portfolio: performance derailleur systems from Shimano and TRP Sporty eMountain bike riders who rely on Shimano derailleur systems can now benefit from more efficient and even automatic gear shifting operations with eShift. Bosch eBike Systems connects the popular XTR Di2, Shimano DEORE XT Di2 and Shimano DEORE Di2 gear shifting to the smart system. eShift supports both manual and semi-automatic or automatic gear shifting in conjunction with the shifting system. eBike riders can choose between ‘shift yourself’ and ‘let it shift’ and change gears flexibly at the touch of a button, depending on the riding situation. The eBike display or ride screen shows which variant is currently active: ‘M’ for manual gear shifting, ‘M+’ for semi-automatic gear shifting and ‘A’ for automatic gear shifting. In addition to the established TRP E.A.S.I., there is also the TRP E.A.S.I. A12 now offers a larger selection for further applications: The TRP E.A.S.I. A11. and the TRP E.A.S.I. A10. expands the eShift portfolio for eBike riders who enjoy trekking or gravel tours. The 11-speed and 10-speed drivetrains deliver precise gear shifting and also allow easy gear shifting between automatic, semi-automatic and manual gear shifting. eBike riders can change several gears at once at the touch of a button - even while rolling. Update: Automatic function for already compatible Shimano gears The automatic function comes as an over-the-air update: Bosch eBike Systems is expanding the range of functions for the Shimano NEXUS Di2 hub gear system and the Shimano CUES Di2 derailleur systems. Anyone using an eBike with a Shimano shifting connected to eShift will be able to have the automatic function installed via the eBike Flow App or via specialist dealers from autumn 2025. The shifting itself must also be updated via an over-the-air update using the Shimano app or via a specialist dealer. The range of functions of the Shimano NEXUS Di2 hub gear system has also been expanded: in future, users will be able to set an individual starting gear via the eBike Flow app. eShift recognises when the bike is stationary and automatically shifts to the defined starting gear. This popular function ensures a more relaxed riding experience in stop-and-go situations in city traffic, for example. New partner in the eShift portfolio: Classified Another partner has been added to the range of compatible solutions: eShift now supports the 2-speed Powershift hub gear systems from Classified for manual gear shifting. The system recognises the pedal position and changes gear at the optimum time. The display clearly shows the current gear and a shift recommendation. The solution will be available from autumn 2025. Ride smoothly in the right gear Bosch eBike Systems presented the first eShift solutions for electric gear shifting back in 2014 and has since developed them further together with various gear shifting partners. Depending on the shifting, an electric gear change offers two major advantages for eBike riders: The automatic shifting automatically adjusts the gear to a pre-set cadence. This means eBike riders always ride in the right gear ratio and the riding experience is much more relaxed and comfortable. When gear shifting manually, eShift ensures optimum gear shifting at the ideal time. The motor support is cancelled for fractions of a second. The gear changes are rendered smooth and silent. A positive side effect: material wear on the Drive Unit is reduced. 1 The Drive Unit Performance Line Speed (BDU378Y) is not included

Bosch continues to develop eBike ABS

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Bosch eBike Systems is pushing ahead with the development of its eBike ABS : With Shimano as a new partner and additional compatible brake models from Magura and TRP, eBike riders now have even more choice. At the same time, the optimised ABS software ensures noticeably better control when braking. It is important to us that eBike riders feel safe in every riding situation. With the eBike ABS and the ABS Pro we are making an important contribution to this. In order to make this security enhancement accessible to as many people as possible, we are systematically expanding our range. The expanded portfolio creates more choice and convenience - for both manufacturers and end customers.... Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems New partnership: eBike ABS compatible with Shimano brakes For the first time, the Bosch eBike ABS and the eBike ABS Pro are compatible with brakes from Shimano and optimally matched to them. Demanding eMTB fans in particular benefit from this: The latest XTR (BR-M9220) and Shimano DEORE XT (BR-M8220) models, together with the ABS Pro, enable uncompromising trail rides. However, Shimano brakes are also used in other eBike categories - from City eBikes to Trekking eBikes and eMTBs. The Shimano BR-MT420 and Shimano BR-MT200 models are now also compatible with the Bosch eBike ABS and provide extra control and a superior riding experience. New brakes from Magura and TRP - for sporty and urban conditions Bosch eBike Systems is also expanding its portfolio of compatible brakes with its existing ABS partners, offering eBike riders even more choice for different conditions. Magura is presenting a high-performance solution for demanding mountain bikers with the Magura Gustav Elite, while the new Magura Louise Elite has been specially developed for urban use. Both brakes are now compatible with Bosch eBike ABS. TRP complements the range with the new TRP EVO Pro - a brake that is specifically tailored to the requirements of eMTB riders with the Bosch eBike ABS Pro. Even more control when braking Bosch has further optimised the ABS software to regulate the brake pressure more precisely. A new sensor in the Drive Unit 1 measures the inclination of the eBike even more accurately, allowing the eBike ABS to calculate more precisely when there is a risk of a rollover. In this way, the Bosch eBike ABS can further reduce the braking distance. The new integrated sensor also enables a cleaner design without a sensor disc on the rear wheel. More control, more flow: the evolution of Bosch eBike ABS The Bosch eBike ABS helps to prevent the front wheel from locking and supports eBike riders in avoiding a possible skid or rollover. On the trail, it provides more riding stability, while the eBike ABS Pro is aimed at experienced eMountain bike riders who want to expand their skillset. Since the introduction of the first eBike ABS in 2018, Bosch eBike Systems has consistently developed the technology further: the second generation followed in 2022 and the eBike ABS Pro was introduced in 2024 for particularly demanding conditions. With the now extended compatibility and the new software, Bosch is taking the next step - for more security, riding fun and flow. 1 The new sensor is available for the Performance Line CX (BDU384Y), Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y), Performance Line Speed (BDU388Y), Performance Line PX, Performance Line (BDU346Y) and Performance Line Sport (BDU347Y).

More flow for the city – and beyond

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Bosch eBike Systems is expanding its smart system with three new drive units for urban use. The Cargo Line, Performance Line Speed and Performance Line make eBiking even more comfortable and flexible in everyday life. Highlight: The Cargo Line and Performance Line Speed have received higher performance values (torque, power and support factor), which eBikers can adjust according to their needs in the eBike Flow app. With even more support, the new systems are quieter and lighter than ever before, yet reliable and efficient in the familiar Bosch quality. The Performance Line SX from the smart system is also even more powerful. The new product package is complemented by the new PowerTube 540 battery and other features in the eBike Flow app.Maximum support for Cargo eBikes: the new Cargo Line Bringing the kids to nursery in the morning, quickly taking parcels to the post office and then doing the weekly shop - with the new Cargo Line even heavy loads can be easily transported during daily life. This popular drive unit now delivers even more power: with up to 100 Newton metres of torque (previously up to 85) and 750 watts of maximum power (previously 600), eBikers can transport their children or shopping, even up steep climbs, with greater ease. They decide for themselves whether or not they want to set the new performance values in the eBike Flow app (under "Custom riding modes"). 1 Higher performance values also mean greater wear and a shorter range - Bosch eBike Systems leaves this decision up to eBikers. The tried-and-tested Cargo mode provides support of up to 400 percent - automatically and precisely when it’s needed. The walk assistance and hill start assist, both featuring Hill Hold, also make handling easier. The new Cargo Line is not only more powerful, but also more lightweight and quieter. It now weighs only 2.8 kilograms, which is approximately 100 grams lighter than its predecessor. The optimised gearbox reduces riding noise and pedal resistance to a minimum. At the same time, the improved sensor technology ensures smooth acceleration and precise handling – regardless of the load on the Cargo e-Bike. The sensitive response to the rider’s pedal input enables greater control and an even more intuitive riding experience. Get there faster – with the new Performance Line Speed Anyone travelling long distances by eBike every day will find a reliable partner in the new Performance Line Speed . With maximum support of up to 400 percent up to 45 km/h, 100 Newton metres of torque and 750 watts of maximum power, the drive unit for S-pedelecs is the ideal system for commuters who want to ride at higher speeds and get there faster. As with the Cargo Line, the performance parameters can now be adjusted via the eBike Flow app. 2 The advantages: eBikers can accelerate faster at traffic lights, for example, and receive maximum support on steep climbs. Thanks to the improved software, the Performance Line Speed now responds even more precisely to pedal input. eBikers also benefit from the significantly reduced pedal resistance, meaning that they have greater rider power and reach their destination quickly and efficiently. The Performance Line Speed is also approximately 100 grams lighter than its predecessor and impresses with its quiet riding noise. It offers great reliability thanks to its sturdy design – even when subjected to heavy use. The housing is robust as well as dust and splash water protected thanks to the sealing concept employed. The Limit Mode limits the power of the S-pedelec to a maximum speed of 25 km/h on request, bringing it up to the level of a conventional eBike – practical for anyone who wants to go on relaxed tours at the weekend or deliberately avoid travelling faster in the city. 3 Reliable all-rounder: the new Performance Line Comfortable and reliable eBiking in everyday life and on excursions – that's the new Performance Line from Bosch. This versatile all-rounder offers up to 340 percent support, 75 Newton metres of torque and 600 watts of power. Weighing only 2.8 kilograms, the new drive unit is approximately 400 grams lighter than its predecessor. It supports eBikers with an powerful and even boost when starting off and ensures a particularly comfortable and natural riding experience. More powerful Performance Line SX The Performance Line SX has new maximum values: 60 Newton metres of torque (previously 55), 600 watts of power and 400 percent support (previously 340). Here, eBikers can decide for themselves whether they want to retain the default values or if they prefer to customise them to meet their individual needs in the eBike Flow app. The performance upgrade will be available to riders of the Performance Line SX via an update in the eBike Flow app in autumn 2025. 4 The eMTB+ mode, introduced in spring 2025, will also be available for Performance Line SX as a free update. It provides more support than the existing eMTB mode and offers maximum dynamics and control. More range for every day: the new PowerTube 540 The new PowerTube 540 battery is available now. Compared to the PowerTube 500 battery, the new battery now offers 540 watt hours of energy at the same weight – more range for daily commutes in the city or a relaxed weekend tour. The integrated battery meets high safety standards and can be combined with the PowerMore 250 range extender if required, providing almost 800 watt hours. New eBike Flow app features: share eBikes and "Battery Lock" Bosch eBike Systems adds two more functions to the smart system. The use of an eBike by several people is now even easier: In future, eBikers can invite up to five friends or family members to use their eBike via the eBike Flow app. Each invited user can create and save a personal profile on their own smartphone. To use the new function, only the person making the invitation needs a Flow+ subscription. Another new feature, the “Battery Lock” function, will be available from summer 2025. This additional digital theft protection for the battery ensures that the eBike battery can no longer be used if it is stolen – and is therefore worthless to thieves. As soon as the function is active, the battery locks automatically when the eBike is switched off. If a locked battery is stolen and inserted into another eBike with a smart system, it automatically disables the motor support. This also makes reselling the battery pointless, which reduces the risk of theft. 1 Delivered ex works: 85 Newton metres, 600 watts, 340 percent support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. The eBike manufacturer can therefore limit the maximum performance values by means of a factory setting. In the eBike Flow app, only the maximum values specified by the manufacturer can be set. 2 Delivered ex works: 100 Newton metres, 750 watts, 340 percent support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. Say goodbye to everyday life, start an adventure – with the Performance Line PX ...

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Idyllic forest paths, sweeping river valleys or spectacular coastal routes – eBike rides offer countless adventures. With the Performance Line PX , Bosch eBike Systems is launching a premium system that has been specially developed for demanding bike rides, weekend trips and extended bike-packing rides. Whether on multi-day adventures with heavy luggage or on spontaneous discovery tours in nature: we have developed the Performance Line PX specifically for the needs of trekking riders. It was important to us that they receive powerful yet finely tuned support that adapts intuitively to their riding situation. With the robust and versatile system, eBikers can say goodbye to everyday life and discover new paths....Claus Fleischer, CEO at Bosch eBike Systems Feel the power – and adjust it to suit you With up to 90 Newton metres of torque, 700 watts of power and assistance of up to 400 percent, the Performance Line PX weighs approximately 2.9 kilograms and promises a powerful yet balanced riding experience. 1 The smart sensor technology responds precisely to pedal input and provides natural support for eTrekking riders on their tours. It also recognises start-up situations and gives them a powerful boost when required. Smart functions such as the familiar walk assistance or hill start assist make handling easier when starting uphill or on steeper terrain – an absolute bonus, especially when touring with heavy luggage. Another positive point: eBikers can customise the performance values of the Performance Line PX to their personal requirements in the eBike Flow app . 1 Higher performance values also mean higher wear and lower range – Bosch eBike Systems leaves this decision up to eBikers. For example, the maximum torque can be increased on tours with many inclines and heavy luggage. If you are riding on long flat stages, you can reduce the motor support and thus optimise your range. Naturally quiet – and comfortable Enjoy nature while the Performance Line PX lets eBikers explore new surroundings – thanks to the optimised gearbox concept, this is possible: the drive unit provides particularly quiet support and remains smooth even when cruising. As usual, eBikers receive support up to 25 km/h, above which the gearbox decouples the motor and the eBike can be pedalled with hardly any noticeable resistance. With Auto mode, adventurous riders can simply keep pedalling, even on ascents and into headwinds, as the riding mode automatically provides optimum support. This means you don't have to switch between riding modes and can simply enjoy the ride. Don't waste any thought on the gear shifting operation If you want even more comfort on your trekking ride, you should not miss out on the eShift electric gear shifting solution. With the automatic solution, the eBike with the Performance Line PX automatically shifts to the appropriate gear – according to the individually selected cadence. This allows eBikers to ride more evenly and focus fully on the route. A positive side effect: material wear on the system is also reduced. eShift with automatic shifting is already available with the shifting systems from enviolo and TRP. New: eShift is now also available with shifting systems from Shimano. Smart tour helpers: 3D map display, annual overview of ride data and optimised eBike ABS For an even better overview, the ride screen in the eBike Flow app now offers eBikers a 3D map display of the terrain and visualises the elevation graph of the immediate surroundings. This way, adventurous travellers always know what to expect on the next leg of their journey. Also new: In the statistics, eBikers can see an annual overview of the number of all rides, the distance travelled, the trip time and the elevation. These valuable statistics apply to all eBikes registered in the eBike Flow app. The two new functions require a Flow+ subscription. If you are travelling downhill with fully loaded panniers or the route leads over slippery gravel or wet forest paths, the Bosch eBike ABS in ABS Allroad mode is your reliable partner. Precise sensors in the Performance Line PX measure the inclination and speed of the eBike very accurately and ensure optimum brake support. This allows eBikers to brake more safely in the event of sudden obstacles and enjoy a smoother ride overall. The Performance Line PX is available in conjunction with Bosch eBike ABS with brakes from Magura, TRP and Shimano. Enjoy nature responsibly The Performance Line PX lets you experience maximum support on adventure tours, while also enjoying nature at the same time. To achieve this, Bosch eBike Systems has taken various measures to reduce its Product Carbon Footprint 2 . Firstly, around 40 percent recycled aluminum is used in the housing of the drive unit. This has enabled almost half of the CO₂ emissions from the housing to be cut 3 . Secondly, Bosch eBike Systems uses recycled plastic 4 for some components in the drive unit – thereby supporting the circular economy. 1 Delivery ex works: 85 Nm, 600 W, 340% support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. This allows the eBike manufacturer to limit the maximum performance values by means of a factory setting. In the eBike Flow app, only the maximum values specified by the manufacturer can be set. 2 The Product Carbon Footprint can be used to record the emissions generated during the production and manufacture of a product. We have considered the effects of CO₂ as well as other greenhouse gases and climate-relevant substances, insofar as these are relevant to the analysis. For ease of reading, we use CO₂ synonymously with CO₂ equivalents. 3 Savings compared to the use of conventional aluminium. These savings are partially attributable to the use of green electricity in the production of recycled aluminium. The calculation is based on supplier data. 4 The grease guide plate, torque sensor housing and wire feeder are among the largest plastic parts in the drive unit. The grease guide plate and torque sensor housing are manufactured using more than 50% recycled material, while the wire feeder has a recycled content of approx. 35% (source: supplier data).

More adrenaline, more power, more trail fun

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – eMTB riding combines adrenaline, flow, and the constant pushing of boundaries. Every rider has their own specific requirements: more power for steep uphills, more boost for technical terrain, or maximum range for long rides. The new Performance Line CX-R from Bosch eBike Systems, a pioneer in eMTB riding, stands for first class trail fun – with maximum power, lightning-fast response, precise control, and an exclusive Race mode for the highest demands. It offers up to 100 Newton meters (Nm) of torque, 750 watts (W) of power, and support of up to 400% of the pedal input. At the same time, the drive unit developed with top athletes boasts high-tech materials from aerospace and racing, has a low weight, and features high quality sensor technology. The latter ensures that the drive unit responds to the pedal input in milliseconds, pushing to the performance limit with power and control. The Race and eMTB+ riding modes, which have been customized for eMTB riding, enable precise and controlled power delivery. The new Performance Line CX-R is the most powerful drive unit in our portfolio. We have made no compromises when it comes to materials, software, and sensor technology – enabling experienced riders to explore and push the limits of their skills on difficult trails....Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems, says: “The new Performance Line CX-R is the most powerful drive unit in our portfolio. We have made no compromises when it comes to materials, software, and sensor technology – enabling experienced riders to explore and push the limits of their skills on difficult trails. The new eMTB+ riding mode brings the power of the CX-R to the trail in a controlled manner. Thanks to Dynamic Control – a type of traction control in the new mode – propulsion remains controlled even on demanding terrain, steep sections, and wet surfaces.” Uncompromising support: Exclusive Race mode On challenging terrain, power is not the only thing that counts – a sensitive interplay of performance and control is crucial. Since riders have different requirements, there is a choice of specially customizable riding modes. Riders who want direct power delivery and maximum support can select the Race mode available exclusively with Performance Line CX-R. It enables lag-free acceleration and assists with full power up to maximum speed – with up to 400% in addition to rider power. When dynamically negotiating large rocks and complex tree roots, Extended Boost, which is further extended in Race mode, provides additional thrust. This makes it the first choice for competitions and for eMTB riders who want to constantly challenge themselves and master a variety of technical riding challenges. Riders wishing to adapt the mode to their personal preferences can customize the various performance parameters in the eBike Flow app. Full dynamics and control: New eMTB+ mode for demanding trails The dynamic and progressive eMTB+ mode is another key innovation for physically demanding trail rides. It bridges the gap between eMTB mode and Race mode and balances the full power of the latter with unique control. Based on the rider's input, eMTB+ mode delivers controlled support with up to 400% assistance in addition to the rider's own power. It develops its power in a natural and agile manner, and thanks to Dynamic Control it can always be precisely regulated via the rider's input. eMTB+ mode switches intelligently – depending on the situation – between Dynamic Control and the familiar, direct response. Just like in Race mode, the performance values of eMTB+ mode can also be fine tuned in the eBike Flow app to precisely suit the rider's needs and riding situations. For ambitious MTB riders, four fine tuned, dynamic riding modes are now available: Tour+, eMTB, eMTB+, and Race. These can be customized via the eBike Flow app – both in terms of performance values (W, Nm) and dynamics and response. Premium materials: Low weight and dynamic riding experience Whether on steep uphill trails, sprints over complex tree roots, or rough terrain, the materials of the Performance Line CX-R are designed for maximum performance and durability to get the most out of every riding situation. The powder coated magnesium housing in space gray adds durability, while the corrosion-resistant titanium crank spindle and high quality ceramic ball bearings reduce the weight to just 6 pounds – and ensure even smoother operation. At the same time, the Performance Line CX-R is durable and reliable thanks to its high quality construction and powerful electronics. When riding downhill, the decoupling of the external drivetrain (chain, chainring, cassette) from the internal drivetrain (freewheel, gear system, motor) ensures reduced mechanical noise so that the full focus remains on the trails and nature. High quality sensor technology: Power at exactly the right moment To ensure that the Performance Line CX-R delivers power precisely in the right riding situations, sensor technology measures the pedal input up to a thousand times per second. The sensor technology used includes precise torque measurement technology and a high resolution cadence sensor. Inertial sensors (IMU) also measure acceleration and rotation speeds in six dimensions, and recognize inclination and tilt angles as well as vibrations. On the trail, this means maximum power, precisely controllable and available at exactly the right moment – whether it's a powerful sprint out of a curve, a fine tuned start on a slippery surface, or steep, technically demanding ascents. The first electric mountain bikes with the new Performance Line CX-R are expected to be available from dealers from fall 2025.
