Raising Security to a New Level

Stuttgart – At IFA 2025, Bosch Smart Home is once again demonstrating that its products and solutions are impressive thanks not only to their first-class quality, but also to innovation. With the expansion of its product and service portfolio to include the new Motion Detector II [+M], Security+ and Home+, the award-winning alarm system is being raised to a new level. The utmost security via reliable technology: the Motion Detector II [+M] The new Motion Detector II [+M] offers an innovative combination of security and convenience. Thanks to precise motion detection with a detection range of up to 13 meters, an integrated orientation light and flexible operation in the Bosch Smart Home system or Matter systems*, the Motion Detector II [+M] combines state-of-the-art technology and minimalist design. In an emergency, the device – as part of the Bosch Smart Home alarm system – triggers an on-site alarm in the event of undesired movement; at the same time, users receive a push notification on their smartphone to validate the alarm (via a live camera image**). The integrated filter for small animals minimizes false alarms caused by pets up to 80 cm in height. Furthermore, the demolition alarm ensures that tampering attempts are immediately detected and reported. Comprehensive security through 24/7 emergency assistance: Security+ Security+ provides a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the users do not respond, Security+ is activated and the emergency call centre tries to reach the users by phone. If they cannot be reached, the call centre gets in touch with designated emergency contacts. These trusted contact persons assess the situation – on-site if necessary. If no further assistance is required, the alarm is discontinued and the case is closed. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates additional activities and notifies the police or fire department to minimize damage. Thanks to direct connection to the appropriate emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilize assistance immediately: this is crucial in the event of a burglary, a fire or a water leak. Individualized emergency plans enable users to specify their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. Security+ also includes additional camera features with intelligent audio analysis: this enables the indoor cameras to detect specific sound patterns such as broken glass or the shrill alarms of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Security+ also provides 30 days of cloud storage of up to 400 clips with individually selectable clip lengths. Additional security in up to three Bosch Smart Home systems: Home+ The new, optional Home+ upgrade enables users to centrally control up to three Bosch Smart Home systems via a single app. Multisystem control ensures that users always have an overview of their home – whether at their primary residence, vacation home or second home – or to assist family members with operating the app and devices. The alarm system activated in all Bosch Smart Home systems immediately alerts users in the event of a break-in, the presence of smoke or water leaks, thus enabling them to respond quickly – even when no one is at home. At the same time, smart remote control of heating and lighting efficiently reduces energy consumption and the associated expenses. Home+ thus makes it possible for users to enjoy the benefits of the Bosch Smart Home system beyond the confines of their own four walls. Home+ also provides intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. As a 3-in-1 package, it further enhances its user’s quality of life. Availability and prices The new Motion Detector II [+M] is available immediately for €49.95 including 19% VAT. Security+ is immediately available in the Bosch Smart Home app for a monthly fee of €29.99 including 19% VAT. Home+ can be added to the Bosch Smart Home app for €4.99 per month starting at the end of 2025. *Features offered in the Matter system depend on the respective provider. **Requires the Eyes Indoor Camera II.

Security+ from Bosch Smart Home: 24/7 emergency assistance, even when you cannot ...

Stuttgart – Bosch Smart Home presents Security+, an innovative add-on service that significantly increases the level of security in its user’s home. Whether in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak, a quick response is crucial to minimise damage. The award-winning Bosch Smart Home alarm system already offers reliable protection and notifies its users directly on their smartphones in the event of an alarm. But what if you are not available at that very moment? The new Security+ service augments the alarm system with a 24/7 emergency call centre that provides personal assistance in an emergency and reliably coordinates with emergency contacts, the fire brigade or the police. The Security+ service integrates seamlessly into the existing Bosch Smart Home system and expands its functionality with professional support and smart camera functions.24/7 emergency assistance for all-round security Security+ offers a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the user does not respond, Security+ is automatically activated and the emergency call centre attempts to reach the person by telephone. If the individual cannot be reached, specified emergency contacts are contacted to assess the situation, if necessary, on site. If no further assistance is required, the alarm situation is deactivated. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates further measures and minimises damage by notifying the police or fire brigade. Thanks to its direct connection to relevant emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilise help immediately – because prompt intervention is crucial in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak. Bespoke emergency plans for individualised protection Another highlight of Security+ is the option of creating individualised emergency plans. Custom-tailored to meet the specific needs of the residents, these plans enable users to predefine their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. By contacting designated neighbours or people who have been entrusted with spare housekeys, Bosch security experts can assess emergency situations on site more quickly and accurately – and mobilise appropriate assistance. This ensures that precisely the right steps are taken in an emergency. To guarantee the security and confidentiality of personal information, all data is encrypted and stored in Germany and in accordance with strict data protection regulations. Advanced camera functions for optimal control Security+ also includes additional camera feature intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. Intelligent audio analysis enables indoor cameras to recognise specific sound patterns such as the noise of shattering glass or the sirens of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. In the event of danger, an alarm is triggered immediately and the users or the emergency call centre are notified so they can respond quickly. The expanded cloud storage for smart cameras ensures that no important recordings are lost: this is particularly important for subsequent evaluation or for use as evidence. The storage of up to 400 video clips with individually selectable clip lengths for thirty days is particularly useful for evaluating all relevant event recordings in case of an alarm and, if necessary, for presenting them to the police or the user’s insurance company. Innovative services for more security, convenience and flexibility Security+ expands the Bosch Smart Home system and offers its users maximum security, greater convenience and full flexibility. This service is part of a comprehensive portfolio of optional services that expand the functionality of the Bosch Smart Home system and thus ensure comprehensive security. Security+ is now available in the Bosch Smart Home app for €29.99 per month (including VAT), or at a discounted annual subscription for €299.99 in the Bosch Smart Home App. To celebrate the launch of the new service, customers will receive the first three months free.* *More information is available on the website or in the Bosch Smart Home App .

Security With Award-Winning Design

Stuttgart – The new Bosch Smart Home Eyes Outdoor Camera II is more than just a high-precision security camera for home. Its stylish design with a bright front lamp and colour-customisable top and bottom lights also makes it a handsome eye-catcher outdoors. The integrated 75-decibel siren sounds a loud alarm to frighten burglars away. The Eyes Outdoor Camera II can be used independently with the Bosch Smart Home Camera app or integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system.*Smart motion detection for enhanced security Reliably protecting their own homes is the top priority for many people. With a 145° field of view, DualRadar sensors, and manually rotatable and tiltable camera head, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II provides ideal monitoring of the area under surveillance. Thanks to 3D motion detection and smart video analysis, the camera automatically distinguishes human activities from other motions such as a roving cat or a windblown branch – which avoids false alarms. The masking function blacks out predefined zones (for example, neighbouring properties) and excludes them from the recording, thus protecting the privacy of third parties. The Eyes Outdoor Camera II easily masters darkness too thanks to its front lamp, which shines with a brightness up to 1 100 lumens, thus enabling the camera to also capture sharply focused images in full HD colour both day and night. If motion is detected while the Eyes Outdoor Camera II is in security mode, the device shows another of its talents. In addition to high-precision video recording, its integrated 75-decibel siren sounds a loud alarm and its red upper and lower lights begin to flash, thus providing both audible and visual deterrence in emergencies. Of course, when a stranger enters one’s property, it doesn’t necessarily mean danger. For example, the visitor could simply be a parcel carrier arriving at the door with a long-awaited delivery when no one is at home. In this case, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II acts like an intercom system. Via livestream on their smartphone, the user can see who is standing in front of the door and can communicate with them by means of the integrated loudspeaker and microphone. This makes it easy to instruct parcel carriers where they can safely leave their deliveries. Brings light into the darkness The integrated lighting options provide an additional sense of security. Using innovative DualRadar technology, the camera detects movements and measures distances with two modern radar sensors. It covers a field of vision of 180° and, as soon as movement is detected, it illuminates the property in the desired brightness. The property can initially be lit by subdued lighting or, as a deterrent, by bright lamps shining at full intensity. This way, passing cars or passers-by outside the monitored area do not trigger the motion light. The Bosch Smart Camera app enables its user to adjust the brightness of the front lamp (from warm to cool white) as well as the top and bottom lights, which can optimally illuminate the property in more than 1 500 colours. All lamps can also be individually switched and used with automatic twilight or individual time settings. Uncompromising design Available in silver or anthracite metallic, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II convinces users thanks to its thoroughly stylish design, which earned it both the Red Dot “Best of Best” Design Award (2023) and the iF Design Award (2023). With its modern style and clever combination of a camera and outdoor lighting, it appealingly yet unobtrusively welcomes guests and residents alike. Access-protected storage The 100 most recent video clips are automatically saved free of charge for seven days in the access-protected cloud storage. This enables users to re-evaluate or save individual video recordings. People who need even more storage space can opt for the Cloud+ extension , which lets them customise clip lengths, save video recordings for 30 days and permanently store up to 25 of their favourite clips. Particularly clever: the Cloud+ extension covers all cameras in the Bosch Smart Home system. Even smarter in the system The Eyes Outdoor Camera II can be integrated* into existing Bosch Smart Home systems to trigger smart automations and individual scenarios. For example, the customisable “Coming Home” scenario automatically deactivates the device when its user returns home after a day at work. Integrating the Eyes Outdoor Camera II into the Bosch Smart Home system enables the device to provide even greater security and convenience in one’s own home. Further features Resolution: 1080-pixel full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IP protection class: IP 55 Ambient temperature range: -20° to +50° Celsius Power supply: 230-volt alternating current Weight: 900 grams (including accessories and packaging: 1406g +/- 10g) Monitored areas: 130° horizontal (+80° rotation), 70° vertical (+25° inclination), 145° diagonal Radar detection range: 180° (range of 8 metres) Connections: Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz Wireless free-field range: 100 m Availability The Eyes Outdoor Camera II is expected to be available from the first half of 2024 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Requirements The Bosch Smart Camera app is required to use the Eyes Outdoor Camera II. To take advantage of further benefits, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II can be integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system via the Bosch Smart Home app.* * Integration of the Eyes Outdoor Camera II into the Bosch Smart Home system is expected to become possible from the first half of the year 2024.

Convenient, Energy-Saving Heating: Bosch Smart Home Radiator Thermostat II, Room ...

Stuttgart – The mindful and thrifty use of resources is more important than ever. As the price of energy continues to rise, it becomes increasingly important to conserve energy. As in the past, up to 70% of the energy in households is used for space heating. 1 This makes it all the more important to heat one’s home as efficiently as possible. According to the Fraunhofer Institute, the proper combination of smart functions can reduce energy consumption by as much as 36%. 2 Efficient heating therefore not only eases the burden on the environment, but also relieves the strain on one’s budget. With this in mind, Bosch Smart Home presents three new heating solutions: the new Bosch Smart Home Radiator Thermostat II, the Room Thermostat II and the Room Thermostat II 230 V support efficient heating in the Bosch Smart Home, thus helping to save energy. The Smart Temperature Controller for Radiators: The Radiator Thermostat II Precise temperature for each room in the house: ensures the desired temperature in every room and displays the current temperatures in the app. Efficient heating: heats precisely as needed and with energy efficiency thanks to time programmes and special services such as “Sustainable Ventilation”. Optimised design: facilitates intuitive operation through convenient rotary movements, as well as easy readability thanks to its modern, rotatable display. Flexible operation: directly on the device, fully automated or by voice via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and at any time via app. The new smart Radiator Thermostat II is the optimal basis for efficient temperature control in the Bosch Smart Home. With its new and significantly improved design, this intuitively and flexibly operable radiator thermostat can be quickly and easily installed to replace conventional radiator thermostats. The smart Radiator Thermostat II ensures that only as much heating is used as necessary, thus promoting economical and environmentally conscious heating. Controlling the device via the Bosch Smart Home app is convenient, simple and possible from anywhere. The app can be used to set a comfortable temperature to within half a degree Celsius. In addition, the current temperatures of all Radiator Thermostats II can be viewed in the app whenever desired. For maximal convenience, all Radiator Thermostats II per room are automatically combined in a single room-temperature control. This eliminates the need for manual adjustment of individual radiators. Time programmes make it easy to create precise daily or weekly heating schedules to suit each user’s personal habits and preferences. If you want the bathroom to be pleasantly warm in the morning and comfortably cosy for brushing your teeth in the evening, these temperatures can be pre-set just as easily as the times when the kitchen, living room and study are to be heated to optimal temperatures for a pleasant stay. The radiators in each room can be automatically turned down outside the times when these rooms are usually occupied, thus contributing to optimal energy use. Of course, the Bosch Smart Home can also be spontaneously adapted to suit any situation. For example, integration into the “Leave Home” scenario ensures that the temperature in several rooms is immediately and simultaneously lowered so heating happens only when someone is at home. In addition, residents can quickly and easily set a higher temperature while the heating programme is running and also adjust it to suit new conditions. The Radiator Thermostat II can be controlled easily and conveniently from a couch via Google Assistant or Alexa, or even remotely controlled via the app when residents are away from home. The new and revised design makes it more intuitive and even more convenient to control the device with rotary or pressing movements. The illuminated ring is visible from all viewing angles and shows which commands are being carried out: red stands for warmer and blue for cooler. Furthermore, the modern display with maximal contrast and backlighting ensures optimal readability in all lighting conditions. The Radiator Thermostat II is suitable for a wide variety of installation situations thanks to its compact size of 87 x 51 x 51 mm and its rotatable display. Additional Features The child-lock function is adjustable in the app or directly on the unit Fail-safe protection for reliable operation at all times thanks to protection against frost and calcification, as well as warning when the battery is low and regular testing of the valve function For mounting on radiator valves with M30 x 1.5 mm screw thread Two additional adapters (Danfoss RA and Danfoss RAVL) are included in the scope of delivery; further adapters (M28 and Danfoss RAV) are available as accessories in the online shop The Optimal Complement to the Radiator Thermostat II: The Smart Room Thermostat IIPrecise and efficient: measures the temperature at a predefined point in the room, controls Radiator Thermostats II and thus ensures the optimal temperature. Full overview: the current temperature and relative humidity in the room, as well as the status of the heating controller, are shown at a glance. Flexible use: can be mounted on a wall or installed freestanding thanks to wireless mounting and battery power. Optimised design: facilitates intuitive operation and improves readability with enlarged display. The new Room Thermostat II offers even more efficiency and greater ease of use when controlling room temperatures in the Bosch Smart Home. Battery power, together with the wall bracket and stand included in the scope of delivery, assure that the device can be positioned flexibly and wirelessly at the ideal location in the room, either as a freestanding unit or attached to the wall. As a perfect complement to the Radiator Thermostat II, the Room Thermostat II has an additional sensor that measures the temperature at a predefined point in the room, thus ensuring stable and efficient temperature control. As a result, the radiator thermostats continue to heat only until the predefined location reaches the desired temperature. In addition to displaying the room temperature, the Room Thermostat II also provides an overview of the current heating settings and relative humidity. Both the measured temperature and the relative humidity can be used in smart automations. For example, residents can create notifications for ventilation or automatically start integrated air humidifiers or dehumidifiers via an adapter plug. The Smart Upgrade for Underfloor Heating and More: The Room Thermostat II 230 VSmart heat regulation: supports the networking of wired heating systems such as underfloor heating or heat generators. Convenient overview: the room’s current temperature, its relative humidity and the status of the heating controller are shown at a glance. Versatile operation: directly on the device, fully automated or by voice via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and at any time via app. Bosch Smart Home also offers a smart new solution for owners of underfloor heating systems. The smart Room Thermostat II 230 V can control wired heating systems such as underfloor heating or heat generators. Nearly invisible on the wall thanks to its slim design, the Room Thermostat II 230 V reliably measures the temperature and relative humidity in the room. It also enables its user to set the heating control, and it indicates the activity status of the heating or cooling process in combination with a heat pump. It can be operated either directly on the device, fully automatically or by voice via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and, of course, also remotely at any time via an app. This ensures that heating only happens when necessary. If the user forgets to turn off the heating when no one is at home, the heating can be turned off easily and conveniently via smartphone while away from home. And if you want to enjoy a warm welcome when returning to your own four walls, simply tapping your smartphone with your fingertip on your way home suffices to pre-set the desired room temperature. Further Advantages of the Room Thermostat II and Room Thermostat II 230 V The Room Thermostat II and Room Thermostat II 230 V are also convincing thanks to their modern LED display, which clearly and legibly displays all information relevant to room-temperature control. Intuitive operation by turning and pushing the button of the Room Thermostat II and Room Thermostat II 230 V is now additionally supported by visual signals from a multicoloured LED strip. For example, red LEDs indicate that the temperature is being increased, while blue LEDs show that the temperature is being lowered. Further Features Room Thermostat II Simple wall mounting by means of enclosed screws and adhesives. No wiring is necessary because four AAA batteries power the unit. Battery lifetime: up to two years. Included in the scope of delivery: wall-mounting plate and stand Compact size: 86 x 87 x 28 mm with maximal display area of 70 x 40 mm Can be combined with the Radiator Thermostat II with full range of functions Can be combined with the Radiator Thermostat with limited range of functions as a remote control, but without transmission of temperature values. Bosch’s New Eyes Indoor Camera II Takes Action When Action is Needed

Stuttgart – A burglary takes place in Germany every ten minutes. The majority of these break-ins happen during the day when no one is at home 1 . Simple protective measures can help deter burglaries and significantly increase the likelihood of their detection. One of the best such measures is Bosch’s new Smart Home Eyes Indoor Camera II. Thanks to intelligent motion detection, the multi-award-winning 2 Eyes Indoor Camera II distinguishes people from other movements and sounds its loud built-in alarm siren to reliably deter uninvited guests. At the same time, residents are alerted via push message notification with live video streaming to a smartphone. This intelligent security camera only guards the home when desired. The camera head can be retracted into the housing for optimal privacy. A simple tap on the camera head or a click in the Smart Camera app causes the head to retract instantly. Bosch’s new Eyes Indoor Camera II also offers a wide range of other uses in the Bosch Smart Home System, thus providing greater security and enhanced convenience in your home.Always on the Safe Side With its integrated alarm siren, the Eyes Indoor Camera II comprises a small alarm system in itself. If an unauthorised person enters the monitored home when its occupants are away, the security camera detects the intruder and triggers a loud alarm with the integrated sirene. The innovative person-recognition system combines intelligent video analysis with motion sensors so human beings can be reliably distinguished from other movements. Thus, the security camera can be activated, for instance, when the residents are away but have chosen to leave their pets at home. In addition, individual movement zones can be predefined in the app so only certain areas are monitored and only relevant events trigger the alarm. In case of an emergency, the residents are informed of the attempted break-in via push notification on their smartphone so they can immediately notify the police. The Eyes Indoor Camera II shoots razor-sharp full HD videos with additional in-picture-zoom function (even in the dark thanks to infrared lighting) so the residents can always get a clear video image of the situation. Additionally, thanks to the integrated loudspeaker and microphone, live video streaming with intercom is also possible allowing users to communicate via their smartphone with people in the living space or with their pets. Safety Without Feeling Watched When monitoring the premises, the Eyes Indoor Camera II takes into account the privacy requirements of all residents. No one wants to feel watched when they are at home. A simple tap on the camera head or a click in the app is all it takes to mechanically lower the camera head and thus physically cover the camera lens. When the last family member leaves the house, the camera can be simply reactivated if desired and the camera head extends. Furthermore, the Eyes Indoor Camera II assures reliable data security because both the storage of data and the transmission of live streams are secured against unauthorised access in compliance with the highest security standards. More Advantages in the System When integrated into the Bosch Smart Home System, the camera can be used in a variety of different ways via automations and scenarios. For example, it can be activated automatically as soon as residents leave the house. In this scenario, the door is locked by the smart door lock, the “leave home scenario” is triggered automatically and the camera is automatically activated. The Eyes Indoor Camera II offers greater security when integrated into the Bosch Smart Home alarm system. As part of the alarm system the smart camera immediately provides live images in the event of a burglary, a fire or water leakage. The Eyes Indoor Camera II can be easily integrated into an existing Bosch Smart Home system as well as connected to Amazon Alexa. The additional option of displaying the camera’s video images on Amazon devices rounds out the system’s outstanding flexibility and combinability. This means that the video images shot by the camera in the children’s room can also be streamed into the living room on the Amazon Echo Show or via Amazon Fire TV. The Benefits of Storage Options with Cloud+ With the additional Cloud+ subscription, which can be booked separately, users gain even more flexibility in video recording thanks to longer clips and expanded cloud storage. 3 On the one hand, longer video clips of 30-, 45- or 60-second duration can be recorded instead of the standard 15-second video clips. This makes it possible to record longer intervals without interruption. On the other hand, the number of clips stored for 30 days per camera is raised to 400 clips. Even after the 30 days have elapsed, the 25 most important recordings can be saved as favourites and retrieved whenever desired. Other Features Access-protected storage of clips: stores 100 clips in the Cloud for seven days free of charge. Can be extended on request in the Cloud+ package. The tripod thread facilitates alternative mounting options. 145° diagonal field of view of (130° horizontal and 70° vertical) to monitor an entire room. Availability Eyes Indoor Camera II: From Q4/2022 in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Switzerland. Smart Helpers in Everyday Life – Bosch Smart Home Presents Innovations at IFA 2022

Stuttgart – The mindful and thrifty use of resources is more important than ever. Saving energy is an especially high priority in this context. That is why it is all the more important to heat as efficiently as possible, especially during the cold season of the year and as energy costs continue to rise. According to the Fraunhofer Institute, the correct combination of smart functions can reduce energy consumption by as much as 36 percent 1 . Efficient heating therefore not only reduces the burden on environment, but also eases the strain on your budget. With this in mind, Bosch Smart Home presents three new heating solutions. In addition to smart heating, the focus for the coming dark season of the year is also on the issue of security. Boasting an attractive new design, the new Door/Window Contacts II and II Plus support both intelligent heating and enhanced home security. The new Door/Window Contacts II boost the efficiency of heating and make a decisive contribution to an even more secure home. With the new Eyes Indoor Camera II, Bosch Smart Home provides another important update for burglary protection.Efficient Heating in the Bosch Smart Home System Bosch Smart Home presents the smart Radiator Thermostat II with improved functions. Compared to its predecessor, the unit impresses its users with a new high-quality design that facilitates more intuitive operation. With the Radiator Thermostat II, the desired temperature for each room can be pre-set via the app, by voice command or directly on the device. Heating becomes even more convenient when personal time programmes are created to heat rooms only when warmth is needed. Heating according to need makes it especially easy to save heating energy. The Room Thermostat II, which can be placed anywhere in the room as a free-standing unit or attached to a wall, provides greater comfort when heating. The Room Thermostat II controls the temperature of all networked Radiator Thermostats II and thus always ensures the optimal room temperature at the desired location. The new design of the Room Thermostat II makes operation simpler and even more intuitive. Smart heating thus becomes even easier. The new smart Room Thermostat II 230 V enables the smart heat regulation of wired heating systems by connecting them to existing underfloor heating systems or directly to a heat source. The new design ensures that the Room Thermostat II 230 V harmonises seamlessly with any home décor, while simultaneously making it easier and even more intuitive to operate. Further information about the new Radiator Thermostat II, the Room Thermostat II and the Room Thermostat II 230 V can be found here: LINK Energy Efficiency and Security in One: The Door/Window Contact II and Door/Window Contact II Plus Smart heating alone does not guarantee ideal room climate: proper ventilation is also an important factor. The new Door/Window Contacts II help to prevent continued heating while the room is being ventilated. Like their predecessor model, they reliably report open windows or doors to the Bosch Smart Home system. Smart radiator thermostats then automatically reduce the temperature. For the first time, the new Door/Window Contacts II are available in two colour variants: white and anthracite. A tiny 3 mm magnet unit makes it simple to inconspicuously integrate the standard model Door/Window Contact II into any home environment. The Door/Window Contacts have always been an important component of the Bosch Smart Home alarm system. They instantly trigger an alarm if doors and windows are opened without authorisation. The Door/Window Contact II Plus offers even greater security thanks to its additional vibration sensor. This improves burglary protection because attempted break-ins are detected even before doors and windows are opened – and before would-be intruders can damage the house. This makes the Bosch Smart Home alarm system even more secure. Further information about the new Door/Window Contacts II (Plus) can be found here: LINK Always on the Safe Side with the New Eyes Indoor Camera II Bosch Smart Home offers another update for improved security with the new Eyes Indoor Camera II, which features intelligent motion detection that distinguishes human movements from other motions. If necessary, its newly integrated siren sounds a loud alarm. The camera also features the privacy mode: the camera head of the Eyes Indoor Camera II retracts fully into the housing, either at the touch of a fingertip or via the app. Further information about the new Eyes Indoor Camera II can be found here: LINK Flexibly Control the Smart Home with the Universal Switch II With the new Universal Switch II, the smart home can also be controlled without a smartphone. The Bosch Smart Home app lets its user individually assign as many as four functions to each button on the Universal Switch II, thus enabling it to control individual devices, scenarios or automations. The Most Convenient Way to Switch

Stuttgart – The alarm clock rings, the roller shutters in the bedroom automatically rise, and the light in the hallway switches itself on as you walk into the bathroom. Is there a better way to start your day? Bosch Smart Home turns this dream scenario into a reality using the smart Light/Shutter Control II. The new 2-in-1 product not only allows control over your lighting or electrically operated shading options but can also be operated via existing switches. The easily adaptable unit is useable either as a smart shading controller or as a lighting controller: both options are readily selectable during installation. As a controller for roller shutters, it can bring electric roller shutters, venetian blinds and awnings into the desired position. Furthermore, venetian blinds can be adjusted to the desired height and inclination. As a lighting controller, up to two conventional lights can be controlled independently of each other – even without smart light bulbs. The Light/Shutter Control II can be operated flexibly: as usual via an existing switch; via timer, automations and scenarios; conveniently by voice via Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant; and via app – either at home or remotely. The Smart Way to Control Shading Bosch Smart Home facilitates the smart retrofitting of existing motorised shading devices such as roller shutters, venetian blinds, or awnings. For example, with the help of individual automations based on the “if/then” principle, automatic blinds can gently awaken the occupants of a house at sunrise or any other predefined time in the morning. The automated system can also be set so that it lowers the blinds at dusk and simultaneously switches on the lights inside the house to shield residents from the neighbours’ uninvited gazes. The new functions of the smart shading controller also offer options for improving the indoor climate. For example, the roller shutters can be lowered automatically when the temperature climbs above 25 degrees celsius in the summertime. The smart shading controller thus ensures pleasant temperatures inside the home – even without air conditioning. Clever Lighting Solutions Good food and drink is important for a laid-back dinner with friends, but the right lighting is just as essential for a cosy atmosphere. The Bosch Smart Home lighting controller can be used easily via voice command allowing you to remain seated with friends and enjoy a relaxing evening. The new lighting controller can even turn two lights into smart lights, for example those above the dining table. Safe and Sound with Bosch Smart Home The intelligent Light/Shutter Control II not only offers greater convenience for your Smart Home, but it also enhances security. Lamps that have been integrated into the presence simulation can be switched on and off automatically via a random algorithm. To augment this, roller shutters can be raised and lowered automatically at sunrise and sunset so despite the residents’ absence, the home looks occupied and uninvited guests are effectively deterred. If a break-in does occur, the lights automatically switch themselves on. Other Actuators Will Soon Complement the Bosch Smart Home In addition to the Light/Shutter Control II, the Bosch Smart Home Relay and the Bosch Smart Home Dimmer will be introduced next year. The relay is equipped with a potential-free contact that makes it possible to switch almost any electrical device or even a socket. The dimmer complements Bosch’s portfolio for smart control of dimmable luminaires or other lighting devices. Requirements of the Light/Shutter Control II: A depth of at least 50 millimetres is required for installation in flush-mounted boxes. A box depth of 60 millimetres or more is recommended for optimum installation. A permanent power supply with conductor and neutral conductor is required to provide power to the light/shutter controller per se. 230-volt AC devices are only to be installed by authorised specialists. Availability of the Light/Shutter Control II: Now available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium. Other countries will follow in the course of the year. Price: € 74.95 including VAT. Availability of relays and dimmers: in the course of 2023.

Bosch strives to simplify the smart home of the future and is driving the Matter ...

Stuttgart – In line with our guiding principle "Invented for Life", Bosch strives to create technical product solutions that make our users' lives easier. Bosch is now pursuing this aim through the new Matter connection standard, to satisfy our customer's need for the simplest smart home solution possible. For this reason, Matter is being actively endorsed by Bosch and will be gradually integrated into all relevant product from 2023 onwards. Under the CSA, hundreds of companies including Apple, Google and Amazon, are working to establish a common wireless protocol in the form of Matter. This simplifies the interoperability of smart home devices from different manufacturers as well as the standardization of setup and update processes. The intention is to further reduce the complexity of the smart home and thus enable the use of basic applications (such as simple operation of devices) from the user's preferred smart home app. To further meet individual customer needs, Bosch will also provide complete solutions in the form of apps and advanced applications (such as preconfigured services). "We are pleased to be a part of the CSA and are now further expanding our involvement in Matter", said Tanja Rückert, Chief Digital Officer of the Bosch Group. We are pleased to be a part of the CSA and are now further expanding our involvement in Matter...said Tanja Rückert, Chief Digital Officer of the Bosch Group. In this context, Bosch is now increasingly contributing its comprehensive knowledge to the definition of Matter standards for various device classes (e.g. security, kitchen appliances or energy management) and their applications. In all relevant Bosch corporate divisions that offer solutions for smart homes or connected home appliances, work is already underway to ensure that end devices and apps can support Matter as soon as possible. In 2023, Matter-compatible Bosch Smart Home devices will be the front runners, closely followed by the overarching smart home management app "Home Connect Plus" and products from Bosch Thermotechnik GmbH. Other company segments and offers will follow in due course. Bosch is convinced that Matter will be the future standard for smart home products and will give the market a significant push.

Smart Home Meets Smart Mobility: BMW and Bosch Smart Home start a joint campaign

BMW drivers are able to control their Bosch Smart Home easily, safely and conveniently via the integration of Apple CarPlay and the Siri voice assistant while driving. With the new BMW operating system 8 in the i4, drivers can simply say "Hey Siri" to activate the digital voice assistant. For the first time it is no longer necessary to press the microphone button on the steering wheel. A joint campaign by Bosch and BMW shows the clever connection between Smart Home and the Digital Car, which links intelligent home and digital mobility. Access to Bosch Smart Home devices is also possible using the voice assistant called Google Assistant in Android Auto and the Amazon Alexa Car Integration. With Apple's HomeKit and Apple CarPlay, lights or temperatures can be adjusted seamlessly and intelligently, and the status of doors and windows can be checked. “We are pleased to be able to show solutions in our joint campaign with Bosch that make life easier. In addition to the driving experience, the focus of our customers is increasingly on the BMW digital ecosystem. Our aim is to provide convenient and reliable access to your Smart Home devices and functions while in the vehicle”, says Stephan Durach, SVP Connected Company Development, Technical Operations. The benefits of the integration of Apple CarPlay in the BMW vehicle and the corresponding access to Bosch Smart Home products are made clear in the "Living the smart life" campaign. In four different short films, three friends get into their BMW i4 and drive off. After a short while, the flatmates ask themselves in different scenarios whether their blinds at home are closed, the lights are switched off or the alarm system is active. Instead of going back to look, they ask Siri via Apple CarPlay. Siri does not only respond to commands, but also to questions. For example, flatmate Audrey asks the following question in the clips: "Hey Siri, are all the windows at home closed?" The films illustrate how easily and conveniently Bosch Smart Home devices can be controlled via the integration of Apple CarPlay in the BMW vehicle and how everyday routines can be performed easily while driving - almost as if you were at home. "The smart solutions from Bosch Smart Home are designed to make everyday life easier for our customers at all levels," says Christian Thess, Managing Director of Bosch Smart Home. "We are pleased to have the option of Apple CarPlay control via Siri. BMW drivers can thus conveniently access their homes using familiar voice commands and easily ensure a higher level of security and sustainability in their own homes while on the move." The control fits seamlessly into their mobility and brings further benefits. Users with Smart Homes thus act more sustainably, as they can disconnect unused devices from the power supply while they are absent. They also have access to security-relevant features at all times and can thus protect their home ideally. Click here fore the video. The Bosch Smart Home Partner Program welcomes a new member: the Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Stuttgart – Since the beginning of the year, Bosch Smart Home has been offering an open interface for selected partners, thus promoting the continuous expansion of its partner network. Following the recent addition of Apple HomeKit, Mercedes-Benz has also joined as a new partner with its MBUX infotainment system. The integration of the Bosch Smart Home System into the carmaker’s new infotainment system will offer its users even more options for controlling their smart homes from their cars. From now on, home is only a voice command away when you’re on the road Time is short and many things often need to be taken care of quickly in the morning before going to work or before leaving on a road trip. But moments after driving off, our thoughts often turn homeward again: “Did I switch off the light in the hallway? Did I turn down the heating in the bathroom? Did I close the windows and lock the doors?” In the future, drivers of the new S-Class will receive friendly answers to these questions via MBUX, which notifies them of the current status of their Bosch Smart Home devices even while driving and enables drivers to easily control those devices while on the road. Starting in December, this will initially be possible for the following Bosch Smart Home products: Smart Plug, Room Thermostat, Radiator Thermostat, Shutter Control, Door/Window Contact, Light Control and Motion Detector. The driver’s attention always remains completely focused on the road and the traffic because the status request and control commands work simply and contact-free via the MBUX voice assistant. All the driver needs to do is to ask: “Hey Mercedes, is everything okay at home?” The system automatically responds by sending a status update directly to the car: “The shutters in the bedroom are still open and the light in the bathroom is still on.” The driver can then send specific commands to the smart home: “Hey Mercedes, please lower the shutters in the bedroom all the way down” or “Hey Mercedes, switch off the light in the bathroom”. This car-to-home integration is achieved thanks to the open partner interface that Bosch Smart Home has been offering since the beginning of the year. The interface enables partners such as Mercedes-Benz to integrate Bosch Smart Home devices into their own solutions via a Cloud API. We are very pleased to welcome Mercedes-Benz as another strong partner for our smart home. This collaboration not only creates a meaningful connection between the topics of home and mobility, but also unites our corporate philosophies – ‘Technology for living’ and ‘The best or nothing’ – under a common goal: to bring new lightness and ease to the connected lives of our users, who will benefit greatly from this,...says Christian Thess, Managing Director of Bosch Smart Home, about the new partnership. We are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with Bosch in the Smart Home area and are enthusiastic to deliver superior voice-enabled interactions through our MBUX Voice Assistant. Our integration of Bosch’s Smart Home solutions, with its broad range of supported devices, has made it possible for MBUX to strengthen its position as a leader in automotive Voice AI....Nils Schanz, Head of User Interaction Voice Control, Mercedes-Benz, has positive words to say about this joint step as well. Release date and availability The smart home function will initially be available exclusively in the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class starting in December 2020. Gradual expansion to include the manufacturer’s other model series is planned.

Clever Solutions for Individual Needs and Wishes:

Las Vegas/Stuttgart. Everyday life, redefined. Enjoy life to the fullest, while still being able to individually control everything at home. Thanks to smart technology – clever, simple and convenient. Because Bosch Smart Home represents much more than just controlling lamps and shutters: these days, you can select from a range of 15 products and countless free features, with diverse possibilities for applications in the most important areas of everyday life. From an individually configurable alarm system and smart indoor climate solutions to intuitive control elements. This year too, Bosch Smart Home is introducing many innovative products and software updates to the market in order to make the lives of their users simpler and individually adjusted to their wishes. Bosch Smart Home provides its users with a real sense of well-being and security, takes over everyday processes as desired and is easier to control than ever before. Users and their comfort take centre stage.Bosch Smart Home Cameras Cleverly Developed Further Regular software updates for the Bosch Smart Cameras make operation easier and provide for even more security. And the best: all innovations are free and can be installed in no time at all. The most important functions can be accessed via widgets (available for iOS and Android) directly from smartphone home screens. This ensures a better overview and quicker access to video events and the camera's main functions. Included are also push notifications with direct links to further actions. Whether directly starting a live video or calling up the latest event – whenever quick reactions are called for, users can act with a sense of purpose. Cleverly developed further: video recordings can be triggered not only by motions, but also by sound. The cameras' noise sensitivity is adjustable. For example, pet owners can have a notification sent to them if they want, whenever their dog barks at home. Furthermore, the Eyes Outdoor Camera can record video clips with audio, thus delivering additional, valuable information on events. Based on experiences and inspiration from customers, additional new features are constantly being integrated and existing functions optimised with software updates. As of recently, more refined levels of sensitivity can be selected for motion detection. Furthermore, video clips and live streams also display the date and time. Perfect for using them as evidence – for example, in the case of burglary. Intelligent Cameras: As a Single Solution, with Alexa or in the Smart Home System Already since the beginning of 2018, the 360° Indoor Camera and the Eyes Outdoor Camera have been operable via Alexa, the Amazon voice service. With a voice command, camera lights can be turned on or a live video can show who is at the door, and the Indoor Camera's privacy mode can be deactivated (on Echo Show, Echo Spot and on televisions with Fire TV). The cameras can also be directly integrated into the Bosch Smart Home System and can be operated with the Twist remote control, the Universal Switch and scenarios, in addition to the app. In the “leaving home” scenario, for example, the cameras are activated along with the alarm system. Working together, these form a strong team. If the alarm is triggered by a suspected fire or burglary, it is possible to check what is happening in the house using the cameras. Conversely, the “coming home” scenario ensures that the indoor cameras automatically switch to privacy mode. Thus, users can define the appropriate camera scenario for any situation. The Bosch Smart Cameras in the System: More Automation Possible The integration of the 360° Indoor Camera and the Eyes Outdoor Camera into the Bosch Smart Home System is continuously being optimised. An update in March 2019 will make it possible to use the cameras more comprehensively in automations. Thus, both cameras can be defined as triggers for other devices and functions. For example, via the cameras' motion detectors, lights – such as the Philips Hue outdoor lights – can now be turned on automatically. The same principle also applies to the sound detection of both cameras. Conversely, the Eyes Outdoor Camera can now be triggered even better as an action through scenarios and automations. Thus, the light of the Outdoor Camera can be automatically turned on or off at defined times of day, synchronised with other lights. Developed Further with the System: That's How Smart Home Becomes Even Smarter Bosch Smart Home pursues the goal of making smart technology as user-friendly as possible – perfectly adjusted to individual needs. In accordance with this vision, ever more innovative products and services are being connected with each other, optimised and expanded. In the process, the highest requirements for data protection and the privacy of the user are of the utmost importance. This was reconfirmed by the independent Institute for IT-Security: in AV-Test certification this year, Bosch Smart Home was again awarded the best possible rating. Individual operation: With the Press of a Button or Voice Command Simple, intuitive, ingenious: the Bosch Smart Home System fulfils requests with the tap of a finger – and even with a shout. Users have the choice of controlling via app, Twist remote control, Universal Switch or voice control. Twist is the clear and flexible Smart Home remote control. Whether it's lights in the bathroom, heaters in the bedroom or scenarios: everything that can be controlled using the Bosch Smart Home app can also be operated intuitively using the remote control – with the press of a button or a circular gesture. The Universal Switch and the Universal Switch Flex are just as perfectly thought out. With these switches (available mounted or mobile), the Bosch Smart Home System can be comfortably controlled throughout the entire house. Via the Bosch Smart Home app, up to four functions and scenarios can be individually stored and called up. What's more: besides the app, smartphone users can also create their ideal scenarios as widgets, and conveniently start these with the tap of a finger directly from the home screen of their smartphone or tablet. If you happen to have your hands full, you can also control the entire Bosch Smart Home System with speech, using the Amazon voice service, Alexa. Thus, complex scenarios can be triggered with your voice alone. Automation: Easily Automate Routine Activities With the scenario manager, daily routines – such as turning off all of the lights – can be carried out with a click or completely automated. In the process, detailed settings are allowed for: with the further development of the “motion light” service, really all lights can be automatically controlled – even the lights in the storeroom. The lights turn off after one minute, if desired, in order to save energy. The connected devices in the Bosch Smart Home System are true communication geniuses: concrete tasks can be automatically set into motion with cleverly linked processes. The possibilities here are boundless. This allows for individual automations – as diverse and flexible as the everyday routine of the user. The activation of concrete functions can be linked to conditions: to weekdays, time periods or the status of door/window contact, for example. Users can be notified if it is past 10 p.m. and the garage door is still open. Or, it is possible to establish different daily routines for waking up or going to sleep for weekdays and on the weekend. Thus, ideal scenarios can be ideally customised for specific conditions: light, heating, electronic devices, shutters or the alarm system are turned on or off as desired. It is even possible to have scenarios activate at dawn or dusk, according to the day. Scenarios such as “leaving home” or “good morning” are already predefined. These can easily be added and manually activated. Either the tap of a finger on the Universal Switch, the corresponding app widget or the Bosch Smart Home app – or the Twist remote control – is all you need. The active triggering of scenarios is particularly practical for irregular but repeated activities. More Security during Dark Times of Year Always informed about what is happening: starting now, app users receive a push message as soon as the alarm system has been activated or deactivated. If their smartphone or tablet is not switched to mute, a distinctive audio signal sounds as a notification, which can be clearly differentiated from other push message sounds. The minimum delay of the alarm system has been lowered from 10 seconds to 1 second, because sometimes every second counts. That means: the alarm system is already in the set state as desired after one second; that is to say, it sounds the alarm almost immediately when a sensor has been triggered. Thus, intruders do not have a chance to turn off the system in time. Even the status of the alarm system (activated/deactivated) can now be used as a condition for automations. If the alarm system is linked to a lamp, for example, then it is clear at a glance: If the light is on, the alarm system is set. Light off? System off! HomeConnect: Integration of Household Devices The Bosch Smart Home family has gained an addition: an increasing number of Bosch and Siemens HomeConnect products are being integrated into the system, step by step. That delivers even more convenience and saves time – when the devices are flexibly integrated in automations via the scenario manager, for example. Thus, the coffee machine becomes a component of the “good morning” scenario, if desired. Or the washing machine makes the Philips Hue lights light up red when the wash cycle is finished and the machine can be emptied out. Already intelligently connected, today: All HomeConnect washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and coffee machines from Bosch and Siemens. Bosch Smart Home Installation Service in Cooperation with Mila Maximum convenience in setting up Bosch Smart Home solutions: for anyone who wants it even easier, the new Bosch partner Mila supports users with an individual installation service directly at home. The Mila installers orient themselves around the date requested by the customer: weekdays, on the weekend or even evenings. The installation is carried out quickly and competently – and customers can enjoy all of the benefits of Bosch Smart Home immediately and comfortably. Simply book online at www.bosch.mila.com . Seamless Cooperation with Smart Home System For Bosch Smart Home, users and their needs take centre stage. Therefore, individual solutions are developed for more pleasant, healthy and safe everyday life. But that is just the beginning: the goal is the perfect collaboration of all the components in a connected house. Be it a heater thermostat, a smart plug, light or shutter control, a smoke detector, a motion detector or even starter kits for security and indoor climate: for the entire home, Bosch Smart Home combines innovative solutions that are cleverly connected to each other. For example, the door/window contact from the indoor climate starter kit and the smoke detector are also part of the alarm system. If the door/window contact reports the opening of a window while in absence mode – that is to say, a burglary – this triggers the smoke detector alarm. The motion detector can also be used on the one hand as a part of the alarm system, and on the other hand for light control. These are only two examples of how different elements of the Bosch Smart Home System grow together. The centrepiece in the process is the Smart Home Controller, which connects all of the components in the house with each other, into a comprehensive Smart Home System. As each home is unique, Bosch Smart Home can be applied individually. For example, temperature settings for the radiator thermostat can be even more precisely adjusted to the conditions of rooms. Sometimes, rooms do not have a uniform temperature, despite multiple radiators – such as in the case of heat building up behind furniture. Via the Smart Home app, under “Manage – Devices”, each radiator thermostat can be individually programmed in order to counteract such variations. The Twinguard smoke alarm combines even more functions into one device: it also measures air quality and warns you when humidity is too high, among other things. Thus, both security and health are simultaneously supported. Thanks to radio technology, Bosch Smart Home can easily be installed by anyone, wirelessly and with step-by-step instructions. For anyone who wants to have things even easier, there is assistance at your request, through the installation service from the Bosch Smart Home cooperation partner, Mila. The control functions just as intuitively as the installation: simply with an app for your smartphone or tablet, the Universal Switch, the Twist remote control or entirely automatically, with individually-defined scenarios and automations. The entire Smart Home portfolio is continuously being developed and refined by Bosch. This also includes free software updates, by means of which all solutions stay up-do-date – and even continue to learn.
