With the expansion of its product and service portfolio to include the new Motion Detector II [+M], Security+ and Home+, the award-winning alarm system is being raised to a new level.The utmost security via reliable technology: the Motion Detector II [+M] The new Motion Detector II [+M] offers an innovative combination of security and convenience. Thanks to precise motion detection with a detection range of up to 13 meters, an integrated orientation light and flexible operation in the Bosch Smart Home system or Matter systems*, the Motion Detector II [+M] combines state-of-the-art technology and minimalist design. In an emergency, the device – as part of the Bosch Smart Home alarm system – triggers an on-site alarm in the event of undesired movement; at the same time, users receive a push notification on their smartphone to validate the alarm (via a live camera image**). The integrated filter for small animals minimizes false alarms caused by pets up to 80 cm in height. Furthermore, the demolition alarm ensures that tampering attempts are immediately detected and reported. Comprehensive security through 24/7 emergency assistance: Security+ Security+ provides a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the users do not respond, Security+ is activated and the emergency call centre tries to reach the users by phone. If they cannot be reached, the call centre gets in touch with designated emergency contacts. These trusted contact persons assess the situation – on-site if necessary. If no further assistance is required, the alarm is discontinued and the case is closed. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates additional activities and notifies the police or fire department to minimize damage. Thanks to direct connection to the appropriate emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilize assistance immediately: this is crucial in the event of a burglary, a fire or a water leak. Individualized emergency plans enable users to specify their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. Security+ also includes additional camera features with intelligent audio analysis: this enables the indoor cameras to detect specific sound patterns such as broken glass or the shrill alarms of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Security+ also provides 30 days of cloud storage of up to 400 clips with individually selectable clip lengths. Additional security in up to three Bosch Smart Home systems: Home+ The new, optional Home+ upgrade enables users to centrally control up to three Bosch Smart Home systems via a single app. Multisystem control ensures that users always have an overview of their home – whether at their primary residence, vacation home or second home – or to assist family members with operating the app and devices. The alarm system activated in all Bosch Smart Home systems immediately alerts users in the event of a break-in, the presence of smoke or water leaks, thus enabling them to respond quickly – even when no one is at home. At the same time, smart remote control of heating and lighting efficiently reduces energy consumption and the associated expenses. But what if you are not available at that very moment? The new Security+ service augments the alarm system with a 24/7 emergency call centre that provides personal assistance in an emergency and reliably coordinates with emergency contacts, the fire brigade or the police. The Security+ service integrates seamlessly into the existing Bosch Smart Home system and expands its functionality with professional support and smart camera functions.24/7 emergency assistance for all-round security Security+ offers a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. Custom-tailored to meet the specific needs of the residents, these plans enable users to predefine their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. By contacting designated neighbours or people who have been entrusted with spare housekeys, Bosch security experts can assess emergency situations on site more quickly and accurately – and mobilise appropriate assistance. This ensures that precisely the right steps are taken in an emergency. To guarantee the security and confidentiality of personal information, all data is encrypted and stored in Germany and in accordance with strict data protection regulations. Advanced camera functions for optimal control Security+ also includes additional camera feature intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. Intelligent audio analysis enables indoor cameras to recognise specific sound patterns such as the noise of shattering glass or the sirens of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. In the event of danger, an alarm is triggered immediately and the users or the emergency call centre are notified so they can respond quickly. The expanded cloud storage for smart cameras ensures that no important recordings are lost: this is particularly important for subsequent evaluation or for use as evidence. With a 145° field of view, DualRadar sensors, and manually rotatable and tiltable camera head, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II provides ideal monitoring of the area under surveillance. Thanks to intelligent motion detection, the multi-award-winning 2 Eyes Indoor Camera II distinguishes people from other movements and sounds its loud built-in alarm siren to reliably deter uninvited guests. At the same time, residents are alerted via push message notification with live video streaming to a smartphone. This intelligent security camera only guards the home when desired. The camera head can be retracted into the housing for optimal privacy. A simple tap on the camera head or a click in the Smart Camera app causes the head to retract instantly. Is there a better way to start your day? Bosch Smart Home turns this dream scenario into a reality using the smart Light/Shutter Control II. The new 2-in-1 product not only allows control over your lighting or electrically operated shading options but can also be operated via existing switches. The easily adaptable unit is useable either as a smart shading controller or as a lighting controller: both options are readily selectable during installation. As a controller for roller shutters, it can bring electric roller shutters, venetian blinds and awnings into the desired position. Furthermore, venetian blinds can be adjusted to the desired height and inclination. As a lighting controller, up to two conventional lights can be controlled independently of each other – even without smart light bulbs. The Light/Shutter Control II can be operated flexibly: as usual via an existing switch; via timer, automations and scenarios; conveniently by voice via Siri, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant; and via app – either at home or remotely.The Smart Way to Control Shading Bosch Smart Home facilitates the smart retrofitting of existing motorised shading devices such as roller shutters, venetian blinds, or awnings. For example, with the help of individual automations based on the “if/then” principle, automatic blinds can gently awaken the occupants of a house at sunrise or any other predefined time in the morning. The Bosch Smart Home lighting controller can be used easily via voice command allowing you to remain seated with friends and enjoy a relaxing evening. The new lighting controller can even turn two lights into smart lights, for example those above the dining table. Safe and Sound with Bosch Smart Home The intelligent Light/Shutter Control II not only offers greater convenience for your Smart Home, but it also enhances security. Lamps that have been integrated into the presence simulation can be switched on and off automatically via a random algorithm. To augment this, roller shutters can be raised and lowered automatically at sunrise and sunset so despite the residents’ absence, the home looks occupied and uninvited guests are effectively deterred. If a break-in does occur, the lights automatically switch themselves on. Other Actuators Will Soon Complement the Bosch Smart Home In addition to the Light/Shutter Control II, the Bosch Smart Home Relay and the Bosch Smart Home Dimmer will be introduced next year. The relay is equipped with a potential-free contact that makes it possible to switch almost any electrical device or even a socket. Bosch is now pursuing this aim through the new Matter connection standard, to satisfy our customer's need for the simplest smart home solution possible. For this reason, Matter is being actively endorsed by Bosch and will be gradually integrated into all relevant product from 2023 onwards. Under the CSA, hundreds of companies including Apple, Google and Amazon, are working to establish a common wireless protocol in the form of Matter. This simplifies the interoperability of smart home devices from different manufacturers as well as the standardization of setup and update processes. The intention is to further reduce the complexity of the smart home and thus enable the use of basic applications (such as simple operation of devices) from the user's preferred smart home app. To further meet individual customer needs, Bosch will also provide complete solutions in the form of apps and advanced applications (such as preconfigured services). Stuttgart – Since the beginning of the year, Bosch Smart Home has been offering an open interface for selected partners, thus promoting the continuous expansion of its partner network. Following the recent addition of Apple HomeKit, Mercedes-Benz has also joined as a new partner with its MBUX infotainment system. The integration of the Bosch Smart Home System into the carmaker’s new infotainment system will offer its users even more options for controlling their smart homes from their cars.From now on, home is only a voice command away when you’re on the road Time is short and many things often need to be taken care of quickly in the morning before going to work or before leaving on a road trip. But moments after driving off, our thoughts often turn homeward again: “Did I switch off the light in the hallway? Did I turn down the heating in the bathroom? Did I close the windows and lock the doors?” In the future, drivers of the new S-Class will receive friendly answers to these questions via MBUX, which notifies them of the current status of their Bosch Smart Home devices even while driving and enables drivers to easily control those devices while on the road. Starting in December, this will initially be possible for the following Bosch Smart Home products: Smart Plug, Room Thermostat, Radiator Thermostat, Shutter Control, Door/Window Contact, Light Control and Motion Detector. The driver’s attention always remains completely focused on the road and the traffic because the status request and control commands work simply and contact-free via the MBUX voice assistant. All the driver needs to do is to ask: “Hey Mercedes, is everything okay at home?” The system automatically responds by sending a status update directly to the car: “The shutters in the bedroom are still open and the light in the bathroom is still on.” The driver can then send specific commands to the smart home: “Hey Mercedes, please lower the shutters in the bedroom all the way down” or “Hey Mercedes, switch off the light in the bathroom”. This car-to-home integration is achieved thanks to the open partner interface that Bosch Smart Home has been offering since the beginning of the year. The interface enables partners such as Mercedes-Benz to integrate Bosch Smart Home devices into their own solutions via a Cloud API. Intelligent Cameras: As a Single Solution, with Alexa or in the Smart Home System Already since the beginning of 2018, the 360° Indoor Camera and the Eyes Outdoor Camera have been operable via Alexa, the Amazon voice service. With a voice command, camera lights can be turned on or a live video can show who is at the door, and the Indoor Camera's privacy mode can be deactivated (on Echo Show, Echo Spot and on televisions with Fire TV). The cameras can also be directly integrated into the Bosch Smart Home System and can be operated with the Twist remote control, the Universal Switch and scenarios, in addition to the app. In the “leaving home” scenario, for example, the cameras are activated along with the alarm system. Working together, these form a strong team. If the alarm is triggered by a suspected fire or burglary, it is possible to check what is happening in the house using the cameras. Conversely, the “coming home” scenario ensures that the indoor cameras automatically switch to privacy mode. Thus, users can define the appropriate camera scenario for any situation. The Bosch Smart Cameras in the System: More Automation Possible The integration of the 360° Indoor Camera and the Eyes Outdoor Camera into the Bosch Smart Home System is continuously being optimised. An update in March 2019 will make it possible to use the cameras more comprehensively in automations. Thus, both cameras can be defined as triggers for other devices and functions. For example, via the cameras' motion detectors, lights – such as the Philips Hue outdoor lights – can now be turned on automatically.
