As the gasless flywheel drive does not require cartridges, there are no unpleasant odors or unhealthy fumes. The low kickback is easy on the wrists and contributes to ergonomic working.

Bosch Successfully Invests in Sustainability Project
Bosch has successfully completed a pilot project on the circular economy of plastics from end-of-life power tools. With the Closed-Loop Edition of its UniversalImpact 800 impact drill, Bosch presents a pioneering approach and demonstrates that the recycling of technical plastics for the housing of demanding products is possible. The project, which Bosch implemented in collaboration with strong partners, provides important answers to the central questions of the circular economy in the power tool industry.
The Challenge Was to Recycle Technical Plastics
Technical plastics in power tools, meaning special plastics with specific properties such as being particularly durable or resistant, have mostly been incinerated rather than recycled until now. At this point, Bosch recognized the potential to reduce its own CO₂ footprint and had the vision to develop a material cycle for technical plastics from power tools, thereby paving the way for the circular economy in power tools.
No Compromises on Quality and and Durability in Bosch's Pilot Project
For the special edition of the UniversalImpact 800, an innovative recycling process was then built upon the findings of the feasibility study. Based on this study, old electrical appliances were collected, pre-sorted, and processed to ultimately produce a pilot product in small quantities that meets the high standards of a Bosch power tool.
Pilot project shows the way to a circular economy for power tools
The UniversalImpact 800 Closed-Loop Edition from Bosch has become a pioneering example in the circular economy. This is further reinforced by the certification of the closed-loop by TÜV Süd. The pilot project provides valuable key figures on the duration of material procurement, the proportion of usable material, and the impact of additional process steps on timing and planning, thereby creating a first step for any future projects involving recyclates.
