More power when it counts: intelligent performance upgrade 2.0 for dynamic eBike ...

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Master even the steepest ascents with ease, ride technical uphills with full control, and overcome challenging trail sections: From May 2026, Bosch eBike Systems is offering ambitious riders the free performance upgrade 2.0 for the Performance Line CX and Performance Line CX-R, which consistently expands the dynamic ecosystem. The eBike Flow app can be used to increase the maximum torque and maximum support – the intelligent riding software recognizes technically challenging situations and automatically delivers full power precisely when it is needed. Together with the customizable Extended Boost, the Drivetrain Tensioner, the new Trick Check feature, and the 12A Charger, which will be available from the end of 2026, the result is an enhanced overall package for performance riders. eMTB riding means constantly challenging yourself on the trail – and mastering new situations. This requires not only more power, but also intelligent power delivery at crucial moments. This is exactly what drives us in the further development of our dynamic ecosystem. We want every update to feel noticeably better on the trail – not just on the data sheet....Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems Performance upgrade 2.0: situation-specific peak power for key technical sections With the performance upgrade 2.0, the smart system from Bosch provides even more torque and support for powerful riding on steep trails, when negotiating high steps, or when cranking through tight curves. Using the eBike Flow app, performance riders can increase the torque of the Performance Line CX and the Performance Line CX-R to up to 120 Nm in any riding mode, with the maximum setting value being defined by the respective bicycle manufacturer. Starting from the basic setting of 85 Nm, there is a wide adjustment range for personalized tuning. In addition, the maximum support can be increased: Up to a speed of 20 mph, up to 600% support is now provided in certain riding situations. 1 What this means on the trail: The long section of exposed roots, the challenging exit from the hairpin curves, the sudden steep section after crossing a stream – it is precisely in these key areas that the intelligent riding software delivers full power – tailored to the specific situation and precisely regulated. This requires dynamic rider power on the pedals: For riders who provide more input in the short term, the system delivers the decisive power boost and rewards them with a new sense of achievement. Immediately afterward, the system adjusts back to an efficient level. This intelligent, short-term power peak reduces material wear, particularly on the chain, cassette, and freewheel, and maximizes the range. Riders decide for themselves whether and to what extent they want to use this short-term peak support via the eBike Flow app – for a natural riding experience with full control. The performance upgrade 2.0 will be available from May 4, 2026 as a free over-the-air update. More information about the Performance Upgrade 2.0 can be found at: www.bosch-ebike.com/en/performance-upgrade . Adjustable Extended Boost: more control and more personalization Extended Boost gives eMTB riders the decisive boost they need to overcome obstacles such as roots, steps, or rocks with ease – even if a full pedal stroke is not possible. The system delivers an intuitive, residual boost of up to 2.2 yards. From mid-2026, a new slider in the Bosch eBike Flow app will make it possible to set the length of the overrun for each riding mode. Some modes, such as eMTB, eMTB+, or Race, already have a predefined boost length by default that matches the characteristic of the respective mode. The system reacts intelligently to the current situation on the trail: shorter and smoother for low drops, longer and more dynamic for high, angular steps. The final amount of overrun is determined by the interplay between app setting, riding mode, and pedal pressure. The result: smooth riding on the trail and full control when negotiating technical sections – making pedal jams a thing of the past. This allows performance riders to customize their setup according to their own preferences – for a precisely tuned riding experience. Drivetrain Tensioner for maximum control For an even more direct response and maximum control in technical riding situations, Bosch eBike Systems is introducing the Drivetrain Tensioner for the Performance Line CX and Performance Line CX-R. A software optimization closes the freewheel between the motor and rear wheel. This reduces the free travel on the pedal to a minimum and eliminates the usual delay when pedaling. The result is almost instantaneous traction with an even quieter freewheel, with the rider's input converted directly into precise propulsion. This direct power transmission enables superior control and noticeably more agile riding behavior, particularly on demanding sections, such as when starting off on a step or accelerating out of tight curves. Especially in combination with the performance upgrade 2.0, the Drivetrain Tensioner can protect the freewheel and thus ensure a longer service life and lower repair costs. Available from mid-2026 in eMTB+ and Race riding modes via an update through the eBike Flow app. Trick Check: a fun way to measure trail skills Flow smoothly through a curve on the rear wheel or take the next jump a little further – with the new Trick Check function, every successful move becomes an achievement. The sensor technology automatically recognizes Jumps, Wheelies, Manuals, or Stoppies, records duration, height, distance, or angle and confirms success with an audible signal. In addition, the last trick is shown on the display for eight seconds – a moment that visualizes the rider's personal achievements and motivates them in a fun way. Once the ride is over, the eBike Flow app shows all personal best performances at a glance. Riders can track progress, compare attempts – and generate additional motivation for the next ride. 2 12A Charger: faster charging, more time on the trail True performance on the trail means maximum time on the eBike. That's why the new 12A Charger now significantly shortens charging breaks. With a charging power of around 500 W, it charges around three times faster than the familiar 4A Charger; a PowerTube 800 thus reaches a battery level of around 50 percent in around one hour. This is made possible by modern GaN technology. Since it generates significantly less waste heat than conventional semiconductors, it enables efficient and intelligent thermal management. Despite its high performance, the charger is compact, weighs just over 2 lbs, and therefore fits in a backpack or small bike bag. For performance riders, this means spontaneous recharging, a range buffer before their after-work ride, and more time on the trail instead of at the power outlet. The 12A Charger is compatible with all Bosch smart system batteries and will be available from the end of 2026. With the performance upgrade 2.0 and the new 12A Charger, Bosch eBike Systems brings together important facets of performance eBiking: The Drivetrain Tensioner and Extended Boost ensure unparalleled direct control and confidence, while personalized tuning, fun skill tracking, and fast charging round off the experience in the connected dynamic ecosystem. The result: a riding experience that can be felt on the trail at every moment. 1 600% support only applies to the modes: Race, Turbo, eMTB+, Cargo, Auto 2 Trick Check is shown on the following displays: Kiox 300, Kiox 400C, Kiox 500, Purion 200, Purion 400

CES 2026: Bosch eBike Systems extends its digital theft protection for eBikes

Your eBike has been stolen. What remains is a mix of anger, frustration, and a financial loss. For thieves, however, this is a profitable business, depending on their ability to resell eBikes undetected. This is precisely where Bosch eBike Systems steps in. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, it is presenting a solution that adds another layer of digital theft protection to its smart system. In the future, stolen eBikes and batteries can be marked as stolen in the eBike Flow app. This feature is available free of charge in the eBike Flow app from the end of January 2026.If an eBike or a battery is marked as stolen, it can be identified as such throughout the entire digital ecosystem of Bosch eBike Systems. This makes reselling the eBike difficult and increases the chances of the owner getting the eBike back. Buyers of used eBikes, dealers and public authorities are sent a warning when they attempt to connect to the eBike via the eBike Flow app. This includes the serial numbers of the components that are marked as stolen. In addition, the connection with the eBike Flow app is permanently blocked. It is no longer possible for the eBike to receive over-the-air updates or for custom riding modes to be selected. Dealers also receive a warning in the DiagnosticTool, the diagnostic software from Bosch eBike Systems, when they connect the eBike for servicing. Centralized storage, system-wide impact This is made possible by the digital allocation principle used by the smart system. All the components of an eBike – the motor, the battery, and the display – have a unique registration in the system and are linked to a specific user profile. If the user marks their eBike or battery as stolen, this information is stored centrally and can be accessed from anywhere in the digital ecosystem of Bosch eBike Systems. The eBike Flow app, the DiagnosticTool, and Bosch eBike Support all use the same data. The digital marking can only be removed via the registered user profile. This function is a valuable addition to the theft protection portfolio of Bosch eBike Systems. The first theft protection functions were introduced in 2018 and the portfolio, which includes eBike Lock , eBike Alarm , and Battery Lock , now offers an additional layer of protection. This makes stealing eBikes an even less attractive proposition and represents a further step toward the Bosch mission of preventing all thefts of eBikes with the help of its smart system. Extended control functions for commercial users In addition to its theft protection solutions for private use, Bosch eBike Systems is also expanding its range for commercial users. This is because eBike sharing providers, rental firms, and company fleets need active control options, for example if eBikes are not returned. The Bosch ConnectModule from Bosch eBike Systems allows motor support to be deactivated remotely. Commercial users also have direct access to operating data via a cloud interface, including battery level, range forecast, service intervals, maintenance requirements, GPS position (if tracking is activated), and usage statistics. This can be integrated into existing fleet management systems and will play a key role in the growing market of professional eBike fleets. The extended control functions are available immediately to commercial users.

Even more riding comfort: Bosch expands eShift portfolio

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – From relaxed eBiking in the city to sporty tours on an eMountain bike: With the eShift electric gear shifting solution, Bosch eBike Systems integrates gears from various manufacturers into the smart system. Whether for manual or automatic gear shifting: This makes the eBike riding experience noticeably more comfortable. Now the portfolio is being expanded even further together with Shimano, TRP and Classified. The advantages of eShift are obvious: automatic gear shifting at the optimum time, more riding fun, less wear and tear and above all - a clear head for the flow. eShift is the solution for efficient and simple gear change - and will become increasingly popular in the future. With new functions and additional gears, we are expanding our existing portfolio and now offer eBike riders even greater convenience when choosing their eBike - from eUrban and Trekking eBikes to eMTBs,...Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems Automatic gear shifting: More compatible Drive Units and optimised software Bosch eBike Systems is now making the eShift automatic function available for almost all Drive Units in the smart system. 1 This means that eShift can be integrated into almost all eBike categories - and can therefore be experienced by even more people. The software of the automatic function has also been further optimised for a better riding experience. eShift reacts more directly to inclines, changes gears more quickly according to the riding dynamics and shifts more dynamically - adapted to the surface on which you are riding. New in the eShift portfolio: performance derailleur systems from Shimano and TRP Sporty eMountain bike riders who rely on Shimano derailleur systems can now benefit from more efficient and even automatic gear shifting operations with eShift. Bosch eBike Systems connects the popular XTR Di2, Shimano DEORE XT Di2 and Shimano DEORE Di2 gear shifting to the smart system. eShift supports both manual and semi-automatic or automatic gear shifting in conjunction with the shifting system. eBike riders can choose between ‘shift yourself’ and ‘let it shift’ and change gears flexibly at the touch of a button, depending on the riding situation. The eBike display or ride screen shows which variant is currently active: ‘M’ for manual gear shifting, ‘M+’ for semi-automatic gear shifting and ‘A’ for automatic gear shifting. In addition to the established TRP E.A.S.I., there is also the TRP E.A.S.I. A12 now offers a larger selection for further applications: The TRP E.A.S.I. A11. and the TRP E.A.S.I. A10. expands the eShift portfolio for eBike riders who enjoy trekking or gravel tours. The 11-speed and 10-speed drivetrains deliver precise gear shifting and also allow easy gear shifting between automatic, semi-automatic and manual gear shifting. eBike riders can change several gears at once at the touch of a button - even while rolling. Update: Automatic function for already compatible Shimano gears The automatic function comes as an over-the-air update: Bosch eBike Systems is expanding the range of functions for the Shimano NEXUS Di2 hub gear system and the Shimano CUES Di2 derailleur systems. Anyone using an eBike with a Shimano shifting connected to eShift will be able to have the automatic function installed via the eBike Flow App or via specialist dealers from autumn 2025. The shifting itself must also be updated via an over-the-air update using the Shimano app or via a specialist dealer. The range of functions of the Shimano NEXUS Di2 hub gear system has also been expanded: in future, users will be able to set an individual starting gear via the eBike Flow app. eShift recognises when the bike is stationary and automatically shifts to the defined starting gear. This popular function ensures a more relaxed riding experience in stop-and-go situations in city traffic, for example. New partner in the eShift portfolio: Classified Another partner has been added to the range of compatible solutions: eShift now supports the 2-speed Powershift hub gear systems from Classified for manual gear shifting. The system recognises the pedal position and changes gear at the optimum time. The display clearly shows the current gear and a shift recommendation. The solution will be available from autumn 2025. Ride smoothly in the right gear Bosch eBike Systems presented the first eShift solutions for electric gear shifting back in 2014 and has since developed them further together with various gear shifting partners. Depending on the shifting, an electric gear change offers two major advantages for eBike riders: The automatic shifting automatically adjusts the gear to a pre-set cadence. This means eBike riders always ride in the right gear ratio and the riding experience is much more relaxed and comfortable. When gear shifting manually, eShift ensures optimum gear shifting at the ideal time. The motor support is cancelled for fractions of a second. The gear changes are rendered smooth and silent. A positive side effect: material wear on the Drive Unit is reduced. 1 The Drive Unit Performance Line Speed (BDU378Y) is not included

Bosch continues to develop eBike ABS

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Bosch eBike Systems is pushing ahead with the development of its eBike ABS : With Shimano as a new partner and additional compatible brake models from Magura and TRP, eBike riders now have even more choice. At the same time, the optimised ABS software ensures noticeably better control when braking. It is important to us that eBike riders feel safe in every riding situation. With the eBike ABS and the ABS Pro we are making an important contribution to this. In order to make this security enhancement accessible to as many people as possible, we are systematically expanding our range. The expanded portfolio creates more choice and convenience - for both manufacturers and end customers.... Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems New partnership: eBike ABS compatible with Shimano brakes For the first time, the Bosch eBike ABS and the eBike ABS Pro are compatible with brakes from Shimano and optimally matched to them. Demanding eMTB fans in particular benefit from this: The latest XTR (BR-M9220) and Shimano DEORE XT (BR-M8220) models, together with the ABS Pro, enable uncompromising trail rides. However, Shimano brakes are also used in other eBike categories - from City eBikes to Trekking eBikes and eMTBs. The Shimano BR-MT420 and Shimano BR-MT200 models are now also compatible with the Bosch eBike ABS and provide extra control and a superior riding experience. New brakes from Magura and TRP - for sporty and urban conditions Bosch eBike Systems is also expanding its portfolio of compatible brakes with its existing ABS partners, offering eBike riders even more choice for different conditions. Magura is presenting a high-performance solution for demanding mountain bikers with the Magura Gustav Elite, while the new Magura Louise Elite has been specially developed for urban use. Both brakes are now compatible with Bosch eBike ABS. TRP complements the range with the new TRP EVO Pro - a brake that is specifically tailored to the requirements of eMTB riders with the Bosch eBike ABS Pro. Even more control when braking Bosch has further optimised the ABS software to regulate the brake pressure more precisely. A new sensor in the Drive Unit 1 measures the inclination of the eBike even more accurately, allowing the eBike ABS to calculate more precisely when there is a risk of a rollover. In this way, the Bosch eBike ABS can further reduce the braking distance. The new integrated sensor also enables a cleaner design without a sensor disc on the rear wheel. More control, more flow: the evolution of Bosch eBike ABS The Bosch eBike ABS helps to prevent the front wheel from locking and supports eBike riders in avoiding a possible skid or rollover. On the trail, it provides more riding stability, while the eBike ABS Pro is aimed at experienced eMountain bike riders who want to expand their skillset. Since the introduction of the first eBike ABS in 2018, Bosch eBike Systems has consistently developed the technology further: the second generation followed in 2022 and the eBike ABS Pro was introduced in 2024 for particularly demanding conditions. With the now extended compatibility and the new software, Bosch is taking the next step - for more security, riding fun and flow. 1 The new sensor is available for the Performance Line CX (BDU384Y), Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y), Performance Line Speed (BDU388Y), Performance Line PX, Performance Line (BDU346Y) and Performance Line Sport (BDU347Y).

More flow for the city – and beyond

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Bosch eBike Systems is expanding its smart system with three new drive units for urban use. The Cargo Line, Performance Line Speed and Performance Line make eBiking even more comfortable and flexible in everyday life. Highlight: The Cargo Line and Performance Line Speed have received higher performance values (torque, power and support factor), which eBikers can adjust according to their needs in the eBike Flow app. With even more support, the new systems are quieter and lighter than ever before, yet reliable and efficient in the familiar Bosch quality. The Performance Line SX from the smart system is also even more powerful. The new product package is complemented by the new PowerTube 540 battery and other features in the eBike Flow app.Maximum support for Cargo eBikes: the new Cargo Line Bringing the kids to nursery in the morning, quickly taking parcels to the post office and then doing the weekly shop - with the new Cargo Line even heavy loads can be easily transported during daily life. This popular drive unit now delivers even more power: with up to 100 Newton metres of torque (previously up to 85) and 750 watts of maximum power (previously 600), eBikers can transport their children or shopping, even up steep climbs, with greater ease. They decide for themselves whether or not they want to set the new performance values in the eBike Flow app (under "Custom riding modes"). 1 Higher performance values also mean greater wear and a shorter range - Bosch eBike Systems leaves this decision up to eBikers. The tried-and-tested Cargo mode provides support of up to 400 percent - automatically and precisely when it’s needed. The walk assistance and hill start assist, both featuring Hill Hold, also make handling easier. The new Cargo Line is not only more powerful, but also more lightweight and quieter. It now weighs only 2.8 kilograms, which is approximately 100 grams lighter than its predecessor. The optimised gearbox reduces riding noise and pedal resistance to a minimum. At the same time, the improved sensor technology ensures smooth acceleration and precise handling – regardless of the load on the Cargo e-Bike. The sensitive response to the rider’s pedal input enables greater control and an even more intuitive riding experience. Get there faster – with the new Performance Line Speed Anyone travelling long distances by eBike every day will find a reliable partner in the new Performance Line Speed . With maximum support of up to 400 percent up to 45 km/h, 100 Newton metres of torque and 750 watts of maximum power, the drive unit for S-pedelecs is the ideal system for commuters who want to ride at higher speeds and get there faster. As with the Cargo Line, the performance parameters can now be adjusted via the eBike Flow app. 2 The advantages: eBikers can accelerate faster at traffic lights, for example, and receive maximum support on steep climbs. Thanks to the improved software, the Performance Line Speed now responds even more precisely to pedal input. eBikers also benefit from the significantly reduced pedal resistance, meaning that they have greater rider power and reach their destination quickly and efficiently. The Performance Line Speed is also approximately 100 grams lighter than its predecessor and impresses with its quiet riding noise. It offers great reliability thanks to its sturdy design – even when subjected to heavy use. The housing is robust as well as dust and splash water protected thanks to the sealing concept employed. The Limit Mode limits the power of the S-pedelec to a maximum speed of 25 km/h on request, bringing it up to the level of a conventional eBike – practical for anyone who wants to go on relaxed tours at the weekend or deliberately avoid travelling faster in the city. 3 Reliable all-rounder: the new Performance Line Comfortable and reliable eBiking in everyday life and on excursions – that's the new Performance Line from Bosch. This versatile all-rounder offers up to 340 percent support, 75 Newton metres of torque and 600 watts of power. Weighing only 2.8 kilograms, the new drive unit is approximately 400 grams lighter than its predecessor. It supports eBikers with an powerful and even boost when starting off and ensures a particularly comfortable and natural riding experience. More powerful Performance Line SX The Performance Line SX has new maximum values: 60 Newton metres of torque (previously 55), 600 watts of power and 400 percent support (previously 340). Here, eBikers can decide for themselves whether they want to retain the default values or if they prefer to customise them to meet their individual needs in the eBike Flow app. The performance upgrade will be available to riders of the Performance Line SX via an update in the eBike Flow app in autumn 2025. 4 The eMTB+ mode, introduced in spring 2025, will also be available for Performance Line SX as a free update. It provides more support than the existing eMTB mode and offers maximum dynamics and control. More range for every day: the new PowerTube 540 The new PowerTube 540 battery is available now. Compared to the PowerTube 500 battery, the new battery now offers 540 watt hours of energy at the same weight – more range for daily commutes in the city or a relaxed weekend tour. The integrated battery meets high safety standards and can be combined with the PowerMore 250 range extender if required, providing almost 800 watt hours. New eBike Flow app features: share eBikes and "Battery Lock" Bosch eBike Systems adds two more functions to the smart system. The use of an eBike by several people is now even easier: In future, eBikers can invite up to five friends or family members to use their eBike via the eBike Flow app. Each invited user can create and save a personal profile on their own smartphone. To use the new function, only the person making the invitation needs a Flow+ subscription. Another new feature, the “Battery Lock” function, will be available from summer 2025. This additional digital theft protection for the battery ensures that the eBike battery can no longer be used if it is stolen – and is therefore worthless to thieves. As soon as the function is active, the battery locks automatically when the eBike is switched off. If a locked battery is stolen and inserted into another eBike with a smart system, it automatically disables the motor support. This also makes reselling the battery pointless, which reduces the risk of theft. 1 Delivered ex works: 85 Newton metres, 600 watts, 340 percent support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. The eBike manufacturer can therefore limit the maximum performance values by means of a factory setting. In the eBike Flow app, only the maximum values specified by the manufacturer can be set. 2 Delivered ex works: 100 Newton metres, 750 watts, 340 percent support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. Say goodbye to everyday life, start an adventure – with the Performance Line PX ...

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Idyllic forest paths, sweeping river valleys or spectacular coastal routes – eBike rides offer countless adventures. With the Performance Line PX , Bosch eBike Systems is launching a premium system that has been specially developed for demanding bike rides, weekend trips and extended bike-packing rides. Whether on multi-day adventures with heavy luggage or on spontaneous discovery tours in nature: we have developed the Performance Line PX specifically for the needs of trekking riders. It was important to us that they receive powerful yet finely tuned support that adapts intuitively to their riding situation. With the robust and versatile system, eBikers can say goodbye to everyday life and discover new paths....Claus Fleischer, CEO at Bosch eBike Systems Feel the power – and adjust it to suit you With up to 90 Newton metres of torque, 700 watts of power and assistance of up to 400 percent, the Performance Line PX weighs approximately 2.9 kilograms and promises a powerful yet balanced riding experience. 1 The smart sensor technology responds precisely to pedal input and provides natural support for eTrekking riders on their tours. It also recognises start-up situations and gives them a powerful boost when required. Smart functions such as the familiar walk assistance or hill start assist make handling easier when starting uphill or on steeper terrain – an absolute bonus, especially when touring with heavy luggage. Another positive point: eBikers can customise the performance values of the Performance Line PX to their personal requirements in the eBike Flow app . 1 Higher performance values also mean higher wear and lower range – Bosch eBike Systems leaves this decision up to eBikers. For example, the maximum torque can be increased on tours with many inclines and heavy luggage. If you are riding on long flat stages, you can reduce the motor support and thus optimise your range. Naturally quiet – and comfortable Enjoy nature while the Performance Line PX lets eBikers explore new surroundings – thanks to the optimised gearbox concept, this is possible: the drive unit provides particularly quiet support and remains smooth even when cruising. As usual, eBikers receive support up to 25 km/h, above which the gearbox decouples the motor and the eBike can be pedalled with hardly any noticeable resistance. With Auto mode, adventurous riders can simply keep pedalling, even on ascents and into headwinds, as the riding mode automatically provides optimum support. This means you don't have to switch between riding modes and can simply enjoy the ride. Don't waste any thought on the gear shifting operation If you want even more comfort on your trekking ride, you should not miss out on the eShift electric gear shifting solution. With the automatic solution, the eBike with the Performance Line PX automatically shifts to the appropriate gear – according to the individually selected cadence. This allows eBikers to ride more evenly and focus fully on the route. A positive side effect: material wear on the system is also reduced. eShift with automatic shifting is already available with the shifting systems from enviolo and TRP. New: eShift is now also available with shifting systems from Shimano. Smart tour helpers: 3D map display, annual overview of ride data and optimised eBike ABS For an even better overview, the ride screen in the eBike Flow app now offers eBikers a 3D map display of the terrain and visualises the elevation graph of the immediate surroundings. This way, adventurous travellers always know what to expect on the next leg of their journey. Also new: In the statistics, eBikers can see an annual overview of the number of all rides, the distance travelled, the trip time and the elevation. These valuable statistics apply to all eBikes registered in the eBike Flow app. The two new functions require a Flow+ subscription. If you are travelling downhill with fully loaded panniers or the route leads over slippery gravel or wet forest paths, the Bosch eBike ABS in ABS Allroad mode is your reliable partner. Precise sensors in the Performance Line PX measure the inclination and speed of the eBike very accurately and ensure optimum brake support. This allows eBikers to brake more safely in the event of sudden obstacles and enjoy a smoother ride overall. The Performance Line PX is available in conjunction with Bosch eBike ABS with brakes from Magura, TRP and Shimano. Enjoy nature responsibly The Performance Line PX lets you experience maximum support on adventure tours, while also enjoying nature at the same time. To achieve this, Bosch eBike Systems has taken various measures to reduce its Product Carbon Footprint 2 . Firstly, around 40 percent recycled aluminum is used in the housing of the drive unit. This has enabled almost half of the CO₂ emissions from the housing to be cut 3 . Secondly, Bosch eBike Systems uses recycled plastic 4 for some components in the drive unit – thereby supporting the circular economy. 1 Delivery ex works: 85 Nm, 600 W, 340% support. eBikers can adjust the performance values of the drive unit via the eBike Flow app. Note: Higher performance values can have a negative effect on range and wear. This allows the eBike manufacturer to limit the maximum performance values by means of a factory setting. In the eBike Flow app, only the maximum values specified by the manufacturer can be set. 2 The Product Carbon Footprint can be used to record the emissions generated during the production and manufacture of a product. We have considered the effects of CO₂ as well as other greenhouse gases and climate-relevant substances, insofar as these are relevant to the analysis. For ease of reading, we use CO₂ synonymously with CO₂ equivalents. 3 Savings compared to the use of conventional aluminium. These savings are partially attributable to the use of green electricity in the production of recycled aluminium. The calculation is based on supplier data. 4 The grease guide plate, torque sensor housing and wire feeder are among the largest plastic parts in the drive unit. The grease guide plate and torque sensor housing are manufactured using more than 50% recycled material, while the wire feeder has a recycled content of approx. 35% (source: supplier data).

More power, more Uphill Flow: Performance Line CX is increasing in strength

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Conquer technical trail sections, tackle steep ascents with ease, and constantly test your own limits. For passionate MTB riders, Bosch eBike Systems is adding another dimension to the trail experience. From July 2025, eMTB enthusiasts can increase the performance values of the Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) in the eBike Flow app and customize them to their personal setup. In the new eMTB+ mode, this power is delivered with sensitive precision exactly when the rider needs it. The Kiox 400C display, the highly sensitive sensor technology for eBike ABS and eBike ABS Pro, and a customized eShift setting complete the new features in the Bosch eMTB ecosystem.More power for the Performance Line CX – individually adjustable The Performance Line CX is becoming even more powerful and adaptable. eBike riders can individually increase the performance of their drive unit via a software update in the eBike Flow app. A slider can be used to adjust the maximum power from the default value of 600 watts (W) up to 750 W, while the maximum torque can be increased from 85 Newton meters (Nm) to 100 Nm and the maximum support up to 400%. This gives eMTB riders a noticeable increase in power for particularly steep and technical uphill trails. The amount of power actually utilized is left up to the rider within the framework predefined by Bosch. It is important to bear in mind that higher values put more strain on the mechanical components and also affect the range – the more power, the greater the wear and the shorter the ride. The performance upgrade for the Performance Line CX can be downloaded free of charge over-the-air to eBikes with the current Performance Line CX (BDU384Y) after manufacturer approval for the respective eBike model from July. Bicycle manufacturers set the maximum values within which users can adjust their performance values. Maximum dynamics and control: The new eMTB+ mode The newly developed eMTB+ mode, which bridges the gap between Race and eMTB mode, offers greater dynamics and control. Depending on the rider's input, eMTB+ mode adapts support with up to 400% of rider power. Extended Boost can be controlled as sensitively as in eMTB mode and can develop the same maximum overrun as in Race mode – which is only available in conjunction with the Performance Line CX-R. Dynamic Control ensures full control of the power delivery. On demanding trails with changing surfaces and tire grip, the sensor technology recognizes the conditions and ensures a balanced and smooth power delivery. This keeps riders in the flow and the riding behavior of the drive unit confident, dynamic, and fully controllable. While eMTB mode in the basic setting is optimized for touring and a longer range, eMTB+ mode scores points for performance and trail fun. Riders who want to customize eMTB and eMTB+ mode according to their personal preferences can fine tune the various performance values in the eBike Flow app. eMTB riding is part of our DNA. We enable eMTB riders to live out their passion to the full – with optional additional power and even more customization options for different riding situations and needs. The increased performance values of the Performance Line CX in combination with the new eMTB+ mode offer even more power and agility on demanding trail rides....Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems “eMTB riding is part of our DNA,” says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems. “We enable eMTB riders to live out their passion to the full – with optional additional power and even more customization options for different riding situations and needs. The increased performance values of the Performance Line CX in combination with the new eMTB+ mode offer even more power and agility on demanding trail rides.” Protected in the frame, all ride data at a glance: Kiox 400C display Power, cadence, heart rate, elevation, and more: eBike riders want to be able to view the most important ride data live on challenging rides. The new Kiox 400C displays these values dynamically without manual intervention during the ride – and is a display and control unit in one. It is permanently and seamlessly integrated into the top tube of the eBike. This protects it from mud, knocks, and bumps while keeping the cockpit tidy. The dynamic screen for the Kiox 400C is preset so that riders can keep their hands on the handlebars at all times. The displayed data changes automatically in this setting – depending on the riding situation. For example, the elevation covered is displayed when riding uphill, and the speed when riding downhill. The various screens can be customized in the display configuration of the eBike Flow app. The tactile buttons also allow the display to be operated manually. In addition, the Mini Remote ensures safe and convenient operation directly from the handlebars – including control of lights, Walk Assist, and the Hill Start feature. With up to 1,000 cd/m², the razor-sharp display shows information and automatically adjusts to the surrounding brightness, remaining easy to read and glare free even in direct sunlight. In addition, the navigation display enables precise route guidance so that eBike riders can easily find their way from trail to trail. Another clever feature is the protected USB-C charging socket on the Kiox 400C, which can be used to power external devices such as smartphones. Even better control when braking: Optimized Bosch eBike ABS and Bosch eBike ABS Pro High riding stability on the trail and powerful braking without the front wheel skidding: Bosch eBike ABS and Bosch eBike ABS Pro allow eMTB riders to fully focus on the riding line. They can focus better on the trail, ride more precisely, and concentrate less on braking. The ABS software has been further optimized to regulate the brake pressure even more precisely. A new sensor in the drive unit also measures the inclination of the eBike more accurately, allowing the eBike ABS to calculate more precisely when a crash over the bars could be imminent. In this way, Bosch eBike ABS can further reduce the braking distance. The new integrated sensor also enables a cleaner design without a sensor disk on the rear wheel. Focus when riding, composure when coasting: M+ with eShift A situation many eMTB riders will be familiar with: When they start pedaling again after coasting for a while, the last gear engaged is no longer suitable for a smooth start – either it is too hard or they feel a lack of resistance. M+ extends eShift from Bosch eBike Systems to include the “auto-shift” variant. When coasting, M+ automatically shifts to the right gear with eShift. This keeps the rider fully focused on the trail – allowing them to really push themselves on next pedaling section. On uphills and while pedaling, eMTB riders with M+ stay in control and shift gears manually. eShift ensures an optimum gear on the downhill when the rider isn't even thinking about it. M+ will be available from fall 2025 in combination with TRP E.A.S.I. A12 as part of an over-the-air update.

This makes it the first choice for competitions and for eMTB riders who want to constantly challenge themselves and master a variety of technical riding challenges. Riders wishing to adapt the mode to their personal preferences can customize the various performance parameters in the eBike Flow app. Full dynamics and control: New eMTB+ mode for demanding trails The dynamic and progressive eMTB+ mode is another key innovation for physically demanding trail rides. It bridges the gap between eMTB mode and Race mode and balances the full power of the latter with unique control. Based on the rider's input, eMTB+ mode delivers controlled support with up to 400% assistance in addition to the rider's own power. It develops its power in a natural and agile manner, and thanks to Dynamic Control it can always be precisely regulated via the rider's input. eMTB+ mode switches intelligently – depending on the situation – between Dynamic Control and the familiar, direct response. Just like in Race mode, the performance values of eMTB+ mode can also be fine tuned in the eBike Flow app to precisely suit the rider's needs and riding situations. For ambitious MTB riders, four fine tuned, dynamic riding modes are now available: Tour+, eMTB, eMTB+, and Race. These can be customized via the eBike Flow app – both in terms of performance values (W, Nm) and dynamics and response. Premium materials: Low weight and dynamic riding experience Whether on steep uphill trails, sprints over complex tree roots, or rough terrain, the materials of the Performance Line CX-R are designed for maximum performance and durability to get the most out of every riding situation. The powder coated magnesium housing in space gray adds durability, while the corrosion-resistant titanium crank spindle and high quality ceramic ball bearings reduce the weight to just 6 pounds – and ensure even smoother operation. At the same time, the Performance Line CX-R is durable and reliable thanks to its high quality construction and powerful electronics. When riding downhill, the decoupling of the external drivetrain (chain, chainring, cassette) from the internal drivetrain (freewheel, gear system, motor) ensures reduced mechanical noise so that the full focus remains on the trails and nature. High quality sensor technology: Power at exactly the right moment To ensure that the Performance Line CX-R delivers power precisely in the right riding situations, sensor technology measures the pedal input up to a thousand times per second. The sensor technology used includes precise torque measurement technology and a high resolution cadence sensor. Inertial sensors (IMU) also measure acceleration and rotation speeds in six dimensions, and recognize inclination and tilt angles as well as vibrations. On the trail, this means maximum power, precisely controllable and available at exactly the right moment – whether it's a powerful sprint out of a curve, a fine tuned start on a slippery surface, or steep, technically demanding ascents. The first electric mountain bikes with the new Performance Line CX-R are expected to be available from dealers from fall 2025.

CES 2025: Bosch eBike Systems presents digital theft protection for eBike batteries

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Anyone who decides to buy an eBike wants to protect it against theft in the best possible way. To make things more difficult for thieves, Bosch eBike Systems is now extending its digital theft protection to batteries. At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Bosch will present the Battery Lock: a unique function that ensures that the eBike battery can no longer be used if it is stolen, making it worthless to thieves. The new solution complements the digital theft protection portfolio in the smart system centred around " eBike Lock " and " eBike Alarm ". The battery is one of the most valuable eBike components. With Battery Lock, eBike riders get a smart security function that helps them to protect their eBike even better against theft and to park it more carefree. The expansion of our digital theft protection portfolio brings us a big step closer to our vision of ensuring that no eBike with a Bosch system is stolen in the future....Gregor Dasbach, Head of Digital Business at Bosch eBike Systems Gregor Dasbach, Head of Digital Business at Bosch eBike Systems: "The battery is one of the most valuable eBike components. With Battery Lock, eBike riders get a smart security function that helps them to protect their eBike even better against theft and to park it more carefree. The expansion of our digital theft protection portfolio brings us a big step closer to our vision of ensuring that no eBike with a Bosch system is stolen in the future." Battery Lock provides additional digital protection for the eBike battery Removable batteries such as PowerTube and PowerPack are mechanically secured by a lock. Battery Lock complements this protection on a digital level: as soon as Battery Lock is activated in the eBike Flow app, the battery locks automatically when the eBike is switched off. If a locked battery is inserted into another eBike with the smart system, it automatically deactivates its motor support and renders the entire eBike unusable for the thief. This also makes reselling the battery pointless, which reduces the risk of theft. Full flexibility: Compatible with all batteries or battery combinations in the smart system Several digital keys can be used simultaneously for Battery Lock: the smartphone with the eBike Flow app and Kiox 300 or Kiox 500. These digital keys are flexibly managed with the eBike Flow app and Battery Lock can also be switched off if you want to share the battery with friends or family, for example. Battery Lock is also compatible with all batteries or battery combinations in the smart system and also works with DualBatteries and the PowerMore 250 Range Extender. Optimum additional theft protection With the new Battery Lock function, Bosch eBike Systems is expanding its existing portfolio of digital security solutions and offering eBike riders even more protection against theft. With the eBike Lock function, which is already available, the smartphone and the Kiox 300 and Kiox 500 displays serve as a digital key to activate motor support. eBike Alarm informs users about the location of their eBike and sounds the alarm in the event of suspicious activity. If the eBike is stolen, they receive a push notification on their smartphone and location tracking starts. In the event of theft, the theft report summarises all the important data about the eBike and the crime so that it can be passed on to the police, including a live tracking link. The eBike pass serves as a digital vehicle registration document that shows eBike riders all the important information about their eBike at a glance. Available from summer 2025 Battery Lock can be installed over-the-air as usual on any Bosch eBike with the smart system via the eBike Flow app and will be available from summer 2025 as part of the Flow+ subscription.Bosch at CES 2025: • PRESS CONFERENCE : Monday, Jan. 6, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. PT, with Dr. Tanja Rückert, member of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH, and Paul Thomas, president of Bosch in North America, in Ballroom Banyan ABCD, Mandalay Bay Hotel, Las Vegas, South Convention Center, Level 3 as well as livestreamed on the Bosch Media Service . • BOOTH: Jan. 7 – 10, in the Central Hall, booth #16203. • PANELS WITH BOSCH EXPERTS: „What’s Next in Vehicle Tech“ Jan. 9, 11 a.m. PT, Las Vegas Convention Center West / W219, session with Fedra Ribeiro, executive vice president sales Cross-Domain Computing Solutions at Bosch. “Predictive AI: Transforming Customer Service and Business” Jan. 9, 3 p.m. PT, Las Vegas Convention Center North / N261, session with Davie Sweis, chief digital officer at the Global Business Services at Bosch. “Trends in Electric Car Consumption: Who, What, Where” Jan. 9, 2 p.m. PT, Las Vegas Convention Center West / L2 W219, session with Sabrina Rathgeber, director Global Battery Business at Bosch. • WEST HALL MOBILITY STAGE: „Software defined reality: Achieving consumer expectations for software-defined vehicles” Jan 7, 11:20 a.m. PT, session with Thomas Irawan, president of ETAS GmbH, and Stefan Buerkle, regional president Cross-Domain Computing Solutions Americas. „Enabling electrification options for consumers as the market shifts” Jan. 8, 9:40 a.m. PT, session with Peter Tadros, regional president Power Solutions, and Kevin O’Keefe, regional president Electrified Motion at Bosch. „Intelligent production and automation transform battery manufacturing” Jan. 9, 9:40 a.m. PT, session with Sabrina Rathgeber, director Global Battery Business at Bosch.
