Bosch is once again expanding its range of measuring technology for professionals with a new device category in a very short time. With four new devices – the digital thermo-hygrometer GDH 1-17 Professional and the material moisture meters GMP 1-13 Professional, GMP 2-15 Professional, and GMM 1-15 Professional – the company offers professionals in trade and industry precise solutions for building diagnostics and material testing.

In demanding work environments, reliable measuring devices are indispensable. The four new Bosch measuring devices are specially designed for use under adverse conditions. The robust housings with absorbent rubberized casing and IP65 protection guard against dust and spray water. Furthermore, the devices can be comfortably operated with one hand. The rubberized, ergonomic grips ensure a secure and comfortable hold. Unlike the offerings of many market competitors, the high-resolution LCD displays are easy to read even in difficult lighting conditions. Bosch not only achieves better visibility with its devices but also differentiates itself primarily through color codes that make measurement values directly interpretable. Additionally, the selected material is clearly displayed on the screen in the respective national language. Based on the red-green threshold scale, professionals can see at a glance how high the measured values are in relation to the individually configurable threshold.

Thanks to the "Dual Power" function, the four new devices can be operated with both commercially available AA batteries and the optionally available Lithium-Ion battery BA 3.7V 1.0Ah, which can be charged via a USB-C cable.

Digital Thermo-Hygrometer GDH 1-17 Professional

Bosch's digital thermo-hygrometer measures air temperature, relative and absolute humidity, dew point, and wet-bulb temperature. Architects and energy consultants use it, for example, to measure the current conditions as a basis for renovation and ventilation concepts. Building technicians and HVAC professionals monitor humidity in storage areas, identify overly damp areas, and specifically optimize climate system settings. Professionals can easily and flexibly customize the main screen of the GDH 1-17 Professional according to their preferences. Two freely selected measured values can be displayed simultaneously. The device's sensor is protected by a waterproof and breathable membrane.

Material Moisture Meters GMP 1-13 Professional and GMP 2-15 Professional

Bosch's material moisture meters, the GMP 1-13 Professional and GMP 2-15 Professional, invasively measure the moisture content of wood and building materials using measuring pins. Professionals such as carpenters and floor layers use them, for instance, to check if delivered wood is sufficiently dried for further processing; painters verify that surfaces can already be wallpapered or painted. Architects, facility managers, and building experts use the devices to assess building structures, detect moisture damage, and prevent mold growth.

Professionals can choose from 37 wood types and 10 building materials and save them as favourites. Since users always have the selected material visible on the main screen, measurement errors are minimized. If the wood type is unclear, "structural timber” – a cross-section of the most used woods in construction – can be selected. Both devices feature automatic and manual self-test functions. The GMP 2-15 Professional also measures temperature and relative humidity – ideal for recording ambient conditions during wood storage.

Material Moisture Meter GMM 1-15 Professional – without measuring pins

Bosch is launching the GMM 1-15 Professional for floor layers, painters, energy consultants, and for use in construction damage assessment. It measures material moisture capacitively, meaning without measuring pins – making it ideal for finished or sensitive surfaces, or for getting a quick overview. The device features a reference mode, where professionals can set the zero point for all subsequent measurements by taking a reading at a reference spot. If a subsequent measurement value exceeds the reference value, an audible signal sounds in addition to the display. The material database is the same as that of the devices with measuring pins.

The measuring devices are available immediately. Prices are recommended retail prices plus VAT. Bosch's measuring technology portfolio will be successively expanded.

Press kit: Bosch Power Tools Experience Day 2025

The Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH, a division of the Bosch Group, is one of the world’s leading providers for power tools, garden tools, power tool accessories and measuring tools. In 2024, its 18,700 associates generated sales* of 5.1 billion euros, about 90 percent of which outside of Germany. With brands such as Bosch and Dremel, the division stands for customer focus and great engineering progress. The core success factors are innovative strength and pace of innovation. In 2025, Bosch Power Tools will again launch more than 100 new products onto the market in its four business segments power tools, outdoor and garden tools, accessories and measuring tools.

Due to a change in the allocation of sales within the Bosch Group, certain revenues from Bosch Power Tools will be accounted for differently in the future. As a result, sales in this division appear to have fallen significantly compared to the previous year, although there was no actual change in economic performance in this regard.

The Bosch Group is a leading global supplier of technology and services. It employs roughly 418,000 associates worldwide (as of December 31, 2024). The company generated sales of 90.3 billion euros in 2024. Its operations are divided into four business sectors: Mobility, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. With its business activities, the company aims to use technology to help shape universal trends such as automation, electrification, digitalization, connectivity, and an orientation to sustainability. In this context, Bosch’s broad diversification across regions and industries strengthens its innovativeness and robustness. Bosch uses its proven expertise in sensor technology, software, and services to offer customers cross-domain solutions from a single source. It also applies its expertise in connectivity and artificial intelligence in order to develop and manufacture user-friendly, sustainable products. With technology that is “Invented for life,” Bosch wants to help improve quality of life and conserve natural resources.
