Smart everyday helpers: How Bosch products and services promote quality of life ...

Berlin, Germany – At IFA in Berlin, Bosch is showcasing products and solutions that not only make everyday life easier, but also contribute to comfort, well-being, and safety. At the center of the Bosch booth in hall 1.1 is the “Bosch Powerhouse,” full of innovations for home living, cooling, and heating. Here visitors can experience how Bosch is using “Ready #LikeABosch” to redefine everyday life – as smart, sustainable, and very close to people.AI: friend and helper for baking, cooking, and baby care AI recipe conversion for Cookit: Cooking and baking are becoming unlimited pleasures: the AI recipe converter automatically takes freely accessible online recipes from food blogs, cooking platforms, or recipe portals and turns them into guided Cookit recipes . This saves Cookit users time as they prepare millions of recipes according to their own personal taste. The AI recognizes ingredients, preparation steps, and cooking times and automatically adapts the instructions to the Cookit functions for an optimum cooking experience. Those instructions can be tailored to users’ preferred portion size, dietary preferences, or available ingredients. However, the vision goes far beyond Cookit: Bosch is set to extend its AI-supported services to other connected kitchen appliances such as ovens and cooktops in the future. AI-browned in the Series 8 oven: The automatic dish recognition function in the premium Series 8 ovens now identifies up to 100 dishes and automatically selects the optimum settings. This makes baking, cooking, and roasting effortless – for everything from coffee cake to baked brie. Users can concentrate on other things while the oven takes care of the settings for guaranteed perfect results – now in a new matte design. AI enables parents to sleep without worries: The intelligent Bosch Revol crib can be used to monitor a child’s vital signs, such as heart and respiratory rate. Its software also signals in good time if a stuffed animal or blanket is covering the child’s airway or if the child is crying. A gentle rocking motion can help the child fall back into a peaceful sleep. Users can decide for themselves whether the data the crib records is ultimately stored in encrypted form on Bosch servers or remains offline within their own four walls. Small devices, big effect: Bosch is bringing power into the kitchen and household Winning every test of strength: Bosch’s new Series 8 food processor is the most powerful food processor made in Europe 1 . The 1,800 watt motor with Bosch 3D planetary mixing supports even the most demanding baking projects, offering eight times more kneading cycles without overheating. Its elegant mixing bowl can hold 6 liters – enough space for 2.8 kilograms of bread dough, or 10 baguettes. More than just hot air: The XXL Series 6 air fryer prepares dishes as much as 65 percent faster and uses up to 70 percent less energy than conventional cooking methods 2 . In addition, this modern frying technology uses much less oil for tastier, healthier results. Vacuuming and mopping on command: The four variants of the Spotless vacuum and mopping robot adapt flexibly to different households. In the Bosch Home Connect app 3 , users can configure all the necessary settings for their cleaning robot; for example, they can set it to start at a particular time. They can also activate voice commands in the app so that the Spotless can be controlled via Alexa, Google Home, or Apple HomeKit. Saving energy, making everyday life easier: the new large Bosch appliances Quiet support for everyday moments: With a noise level of just 57 decibels in exhaust mode at the highest normal setting, the Series 6 and Series 8 hoods are currently Bosch’s quietest integrated design hoods. They’re the perfect addition to any modern home – remaining out of sight when not in use and providing extra storage space. Energy-efficient washing and drying: The Series 8 heat-pump dryer offers the best energy efficiency (class A) and uses up to 78 percent less energy compared to conventional dryers 4 . With Air Max Dry for better drying performance, Cool Dry for gentler drying, and a self-cleaning condenser, the appliance offers a convenient, environmentally friendly solution for everyday use. Smart functions such as Smart Dry and Smart Start are available via the Home Connect app. The new Series 8 washing machine has a capacity of 11 kilograms and is 20 percent more efficient than energy efficiency class A. It uses i-DOS with detergent scan for precise dosing, while Active Water Plus and Mini Load save water and energy when doing small loads. Iron Assist reduces creases by up to 50 percent 5 – for less ironing and more convenience. “Invented for life” – in a home that thinks for itself Motion detector with integrated light: The Motion Detector II [+M] has a detection range of up to 13 meters. Weatherproof and suitable for outdoor use, it has a filter that prevents false alarms from small animals. The integrated light goes on automatically when it detects movement in low ambient light for greater safety in the dark. Additional sensors for temperature, vibration, and brightness enable smart automation for things like lighting, heating, or shade. Thanks to its compatibility with Matter, it can be used both in the Bosch Smart Home system and in Matter systems – future-proof and with maximum flexibility. Smarter starts when renewable energy is available: Bosch’s connected dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers think for themselves. Thanks to the Smart Start function , the appliances start automatically whenever a particularly large amount of renewable energy is available or when electricity prices are low. Digital maintenance functions and updates via the Home Connect app ensure a long service life and consistently high levels of efficiency. Cool technology for improved well-being Cleaning, dehumidifying, and cooling the air: The Air 1000 air purifier is a compact helper for small rooms up to 23 square meters in size, while the larger Air 4000 is designed for rooms measuring up to 62.5 square meters. The latter has already been named test winner by Stiftung Warentest, a German consumer testing group. Both devices effectively remove pollutants, allergens, and fine particulates from the indoor air. The Dry 4000 dehumidifier offers reliable performance for humid rooms: it removes up to 16 liters of moisture per day, quietly and efficiently, from rooms as large as 33 square meters. On hot days, the Cool 4000 portable air conditioner provides rapid cooling in rooms up to 35 square meters in size, with three automatic modes for maximum comfort. Air purifiers and single-split air conditioners have also been available in Matter-certified versions since the summer. Whisper-quiet heating and cooling: The Compress 5800i AW is the quietest heat pump in the Bosch portfolio – ideal for densely built-up areas. With the natural refrigerant R290 and five performance classes from 3.9 to 11.6 kilowatts, it offers a future-proof solution for heating, cooling, and hot-water generation. That little something extra: intelligent services for a connected home 24/7 protection for home and yard: With the new Security+ service from Bosch Smart Home, your home is protected around the clock. In the event of burglary, fire, or water damage, an emergency-call control center is always available and coordinates with the police, fire department, or personal emergency contacts, even if the house occupants can’t be reached. This service integrates seamlessly into the existing Bosch Smart Home system, expanding its functionality with professional support and smart camera functions such as intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. Everything in a single app: The new bookable Home+ upgrade enables the central control of up to three Bosch Smart Home systems in a single app. This multisystem control lets users keep an eye on their home, vacation home, and commuter apartment at all times or provide help for relatives remotely. Home+ also offers smart functions such as intelligent audio analysis via the Eyes Indoor Camera II, which reliably detects noises such as glass breakage or alarms from conventional smoke detectors and informs users immediately via the app. Extended cloud storage is also included. Home+ will be available from the end of 2025 onward. All-In+ from Bosch: Renting home appliances flexibly instead of buying them is sustainable, transparent, and convenient. With All-In+, all offers include delivery, installation, and repair. Users can choose between new appliances and refurbished ones – this ensures not only maximum flexibility, but also a smaller ecological footprint. All-In+ from Bosch is the advancement of BlueMovement: with a new name, sharper focus, and innovative service bundles, All-In+ from Bosch makes premium appliances more accessible than ever before. Customers can choose between various subscription models, with the most important services always included. High-quality secondhand appliances: Giving used appliances a second life and thus protecting the environment and conserving resources is a trend that’s on the rise around the world. In 2024, 54 percent of people in Germany bought a secondhand product, while in India it was 59 percent and in the U.K. 63 percent in the same period. Q-Trust can create transparency: this certificate for used Bosch appliances confirms that they still work and provides further information such as the number of use cycles. Customers with a smaller budget thus get the opportunity to buy Bosch-brand appliances at low cost with full transparency.1 Food processor designed and produced in Europe with the highest wattage: 1,800 watts. 2 Tested during the preparation of a portion of moderately heavy food (300 g) and compared to a conventional 71 liter oven with an A+ energy rating. 3 Some of the functions can be used only if the device is connected via the internet to a Home Connect account and a SingleKey ID account. Raising Security to a New Level

Stuttgart – At IFA 2025, Bosch Smart Home is once again demonstrating that its products and solutions are impressive thanks not only to their first-class quality, but also to innovation. With the expansion of its product and service portfolio to include the new Motion Detector II [+M], Security+ and Home+, the award-winning alarm system is being raised to a new level. The utmost security via reliable technology: the Motion Detector II [+M] The new Motion Detector II [+M] offers an innovative combination of security and convenience. Thanks to precise motion detection with a detection range of up to 13 meters, an integrated orientation light and flexible operation in the Bosch Smart Home system or Matter systems*, the Motion Detector II [+M] combines state-of-the-art technology and minimalist design. In an emergency, the device – as part of the Bosch Smart Home alarm system – triggers an on-site alarm in the event of undesired movement; at the same time, users receive a push notification on their smartphone to validate the alarm (via a live camera image**). The integrated filter for small animals minimizes false alarms caused by pets up to 80 cm in height. Furthermore, the demolition alarm ensures that tampering attempts are immediately detected and reported. Comprehensive security through 24/7 emergency assistance: Security+ Security+ provides a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the users do not respond, Security+ is activated and the emergency call centre tries to reach the users by phone. If they cannot be reached, the call centre gets in touch with designated emergency contacts. These trusted contact persons assess the situation – on-site if necessary. If no further assistance is required, the alarm is discontinued and the case is closed. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates additional activities and notifies the police or fire department to minimize damage. Thanks to direct connection to the appropriate emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilize assistance immediately: this is crucial in the event of a burglary, a fire or a water leak. Individualized emergency plans enable users to specify their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. Security+ also includes additional camera features with intelligent audio analysis: this enables the indoor cameras to detect specific sound patterns such as broken glass or the shrill alarms of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Security+ also provides 30 days of cloud storage of up to 400 clips with individually selectable clip lengths. Additional security in up to three Bosch Smart Home systems: Home+ The new, optional Home+ upgrade enables users to centrally control up to three Bosch Smart Home systems via a single app. Multisystem control ensures that users always have an overview of their home – whether at their primary residence, vacation home or second home – or to assist family members with operating the app and devices. The alarm system activated in all Bosch Smart Home systems immediately alerts users in the event of a break-in, the presence of smoke or water leaks, thus enabling them to respond quickly – even when no one is at home. At the same time, smart remote control of heating and lighting efficiently reduces energy consumption and the associated expenses. Home+ thus makes it possible for users to enjoy the benefits of the Bosch Smart Home system beyond the confines of their own four walls. Home+ also provides intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. As a 3-in-1 package, it further enhances its user’s quality of life. Availability and prices The new Motion Detector II [+M] is available immediately for €49.95 including 19% VAT. Security+ is immediately available in the Bosch Smart Home app for a monthly fee of €29.99 including 19% VAT. Home+ can be added to the Bosch Smart Home app for €4.99 per month starting at the end of 2025. *Features offered in the Matter system depend on the respective provider. **Requires the Eyes Indoor Camera II.

Bosch relies on humans and AI in customer service

Gerlingen and Berlin, Germany – AI: two letters that are on everyone’s lips and have found their way into people’s lives and everyday routines. At IFA in Berlin, Bosch will be showcasing products that have been developed or manufactured with AI, or that use AI with the aim of making people’s lives safer, more convenient, and more sustainable. In pursuit of this goal, Bosch is investing more than 2.5 billion euros by the end of 2027. AI helps with cooking and baking, but it’s also used “behind the scenes” in Bosch’s consumer-facing areas. There, AI evaluates millions of customer feedback messages, helps customer service teams translate them and find answers, and ultimately makes Bosch products themselves even better. For us, AI isn’t a trend; it’s a strategic success factor...says Christian Fischer, deputy chairman of the Bosch board of management, whose responsibilities include Consumer Goods. “Data-based decisions allow us to tap sales potential and increase customer satisfaction at the same time.” The importance of customer feedback can be expressed in two figures: 93 percent of consumers read online reviews before making a purchase, and 94 percent of consumers won’t buy a poorly rated product 1 . AI adds a great amount of value, particularly in the areas of customer service and sales and marketing 2 . At the Bosch booth in hall 1.1 at this year’s IFA, BSH customer service will literally be in the spotlight with its own area. Hybrid model in customer service: humans and AI work hand in hand Dealing with “ones and zeros” is something that needs to be learned, and it takes time for people to get used to it. According to independent market observers, some two-thirds are skeptical about AI in customer service and prefer to interact with a human 3 . That’s why Bosch prefers to use a hybrid model, in which humans and AI work hand in hand. Bosch’s consumer-facing areas receive over 30 million inquiries every year. They range from product questions and job offers to general information, and Bosch associates provide answers in up to 40 languages. In customer service, AI is primarily used for recurring processes that are tedious and time-consuming for people, such as translating, sorting, classifying, and forwarding service tickets. This saves service teams valuable time and lets them deal with customer concerns in a more focused and personal way. AI is almost always right: 2,500 hours of manual rework saved AI technologies such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and automated analyses are now ushering in a new era of customer communication – with astonishing success. At Bosch Power Tools, AI agents are helping to categorize the roughly 120,000 after-sales service tickets that the location in Willershausen, Germany, receives each year – and are replacing a rule-based system built on machine learning. Less than a year later, tickets are now categorized with over 90 percent accuracy. This has enabled Power Tools to save an average of around 2,500 hours of laborious manual rework per year. Due to that outstanding result, the service is now to be rolled out to the 23 Power Tools service locations worldwide, covering 40 countries and around 1.5 million service requests. In Willershausen, the service team was also trained to configure prompts – the commands or instructions for the AI. After all, AI is only as smart as humans train it and teach it to be. A new era: agentic AI analyzes written customer inquiries in real time In another global project at Power Tools, agentic AI interacts with several connected systems to take customer service to a new level. Since June, an intelligent platform has been supporting service teams in analyzing the more than 1.2 million written inquiries received annually in real time, searching through relevant information from CRM and knowledge systems, and creating context-based response suggestions – quickly, reliably, and in a way that can be tailored to the individual. In addition, an intelligent translation function greatly improves customer contact for low-volume languages. Plans are also in place to extend the service to telephone calls, whereby the AI will track conversations with the caller’s consent and supporting the service associate with suggestions for answers and actions. The project has huge scaling potential: the service is to be rolled out to other Bosch units at the beginning of next year. Standard tools and IT solutions – provided by Bosch’s internal IT and service areas – also help here. High customer satisfaction: Bosch Smart Home’s chatbot can almost always help The Bosch Smart Home division has also benefited from standardized solutions from Bosch IT. Only six months passed from the conception of the idea to the first use of a chatbot with generative AI on the division’s website. It’s been supporting customer service at Bosch Smart Home for a good year now, and with great success: more than 97 percent of chatbot users who submit a rating are satisfied with the answer they received. In addition, over 95 percent of customer queries are resolved with the chatbot alone and not forwarded to a service team member. Around 20 percent of the incoming volume is now processed by the chatbot, achieving one of the division’s strategic goals: give customers the option of self-service so that they can resolve questions themselves more quickly. In addition, an internal AI copilot supports the service teams by suggesting answers. The copilot is already used for around 12 percent of queries and translates international tickets for over 6 percent of inquiries. This combination of self-service and support for service teams allows them to focus on complex cases and further increase service quality. In over 80 percent of cases, a single service call is sufficient Bosch home appliances are built to last. One basis for this is the company’s voluntary stockpiling of spare parts for up to 15 years. To make these logistics efficient, predictive AI optimizes warehousing and helps prepare service calls, considering everything from route planning to which spare parts to carry in the vehicle. Coupled with the expertise of the service technicians, this means that over 80 percent of repairs are completed on the first visit and parts are on hand without any waiting time. In addition, generative AI helps associates at the BSH Home Appliances service center answer customer queries faster and more precisely. It acts as an intelligent tool that supports associates, but doesn’t replace them. The result is a high level of customer satisfaction thanks to fast service and competent advice with optimized processes. AI listens to the “voice of the customer” and evaluates millions of reviews Customer-centric product development has been firmly anchored in the corporate strategy of Bosch’s two largest consumer divisions – BSH Home Appliances and Power Tools – for many years. Successful pilots were already underway in 2018, using AI methods to systematically record publicly available product reviews and consumer feedback and derive potential improvements for product development, marketing, sales, and customer service. Without AI, this would be an almost impossible undertaking due to the huge masses of unstructured data. At Bosch Power Tools, for example, 3.4 million online customer feedback messages were evaluated in 2024. Generative AI has been in use since the beginning of 2024. It provides BSH with important information about all BSH home appliance brands, all product categories, and data sources for product evaluations and NPS feedback. It can now also recognize thousands of previously undefined topics. This enables highly granular searches for special topics related to individual products, which increases the added value for the divisions. AI-based consumer feedback analysis is currently being used in 45 countries – and in potentially all languages, since these can be translated if required. In the case of the web store of a major German retail partner, this resulted in improved product descriptions and additional information on accessories, which led to more sales and better product ratings. In another example, customers complained about the lack of contrast in the symbol lettering on the control panel of an oven, and so the design team made improvements for the launch of a new oven series. And for cooktops sold via a large online retailer, the packaging, logistics, and transportation process were improved – without data-driven insight, this potential might have gone undetected. Security+ from Bosch Smart Home: 24/7 emergency assistance, even when you cannot ...

Stuttgart – Bosch Smart Home presents Security+, an innovative add-on service that significantly increases the level of security in its user’s home. Whether in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak, a quick response is crucial to minimise damage. The award-winning Bosch Smart Home alarm system already offers reliable protection and notifies its users directly on their smartphones in the event of an alarm. But what if you are not available at that very moment? The new Security+ service augments the alarm system with a 24/7 emergency call centre that provides personal assistance in an emergency and reliably coordinates with emergency contacts, the fire brigade or the police. The Security+ service integrates seamlessly into the existing Bosch Smart Home system and expands its functionality with professional support and smart camera functions.24/7 emergency assistance for all-round security Security+ offers a professional 24/7 emergency call centre that can intervene immediately in the event of an alarm. If an alarm is displayed in the Bosch Smart Home app and the user does not respond, Security+ is automatically activated and the emergency call centre attempts to reach the person by telephone. If the individual cannot be reached, specified emergency contacts are contacted to assess the situation, if necessary, on site. If no further assistance is required, the alarm situation is deactivated. Otherwise, the emergency call centre immediately coordinates further measures and minimises damage by notifying the police or fire brigade. Thanks to its direct connection to relevant emergency services, the emergency call centre can mobilise help immediately – because prompt intervention is crucial in the event of a break-in, fire or water leak. Bespoke emergency plans for individualised protection Another highlight of Security+ is the option of creating individualised emergency plans. Custom-tailored to meet the specific needs of the residents, these plans enable users to predefine their preferences for emergency contacts and alarm sequences. By contacting designated neighbours or people who have been entrusted with spare housekeys, Bosch security experts can assess emergency situations on site more quickly and accurately – and mobilise appropriate assistance. This ensures that precisely the right steps are taken in an emergency. To guarantee the security and confidentiality of personal information, all data is encrypted and stored in Germany and in accordance with strict data protection regulations. Advanced camera functions for optimal control Security+ also includes additional camera feature intelligent audio analysis and extended cloud storage. Intelligent audio analysis enables indoor cameras to recognise specific sound patterns such as the noise of shattering glass or the sirens of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. In the event of danger, an alarm is triggered immediately and the users or the emergency call centre are notified so they can respond quickly. The expanded cloud storage for smart cameras ensures that no important recordings are lost: this is particularly important for subsequent evaluation or for use as evidence. The storage of up to 400 video clips with individually selectable clip lengths for thirty days is particularly useful for evaluating all relevant event recordings in case of an alarm and, if necessary, for presenting them to the police or the user’s insurance company. Innovative services for more security, convenience and flexibility Security+ expands the Bosch Smart Home system and offers its users maximum security, greater convenience and full flexibility. This service is part of a comprehensive portfolio of optional services that expand the functionality of the Bosch Smart Home system and thus ensure comprehensive security. Security+ is now available in the Bosch Smart Home app for €29.99 per month (including VAT), or at a discounted annual subscription for €299.99 in the Bosch Smart Home App. To celebrate the launch of the new service, customers will receive the first three months free.* *More information is available on the website or in the Bosch Smart Home App .

Security With Award-Winning Design

Stuttgart – The new Bosch Smart Home Eyes Outdoor Camera II is more than just a high-precision security camera for home. Its stylish design with a bright front lamp and colour-customisable top and bottom lights also makes it a handsome eye-catcher outdoors. The integrated 75-decibel siren sounds a loud alarm to frighten burglars away. The Eyes Outdoor Camera II can be used independently with the Bosch Smart Home Camera app or integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system.*Smart motion detection for enhanced security Reliably protecting their own homes is the top priority for many people. With a 145° field of view, DualRadar sensors, and manually rotatable and tiltable camera head, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II provides ideal monitoring of the area under surveillance. Thanks to 3D motion detection and smart video analysis, the camera automatically distinguishes human activities from other motions such as a roving cat or a windblown branch – which avoids false alarms. The masking function blacks out predefined zones (for example, neighbouring properties) and excludes them from the recording, thus protecting the privacy of third parties. The Eyes Outdoor Camera II easily masters darkness too thanks to its front lamp, which shines with a brightness up to 1 100 lumens, thus enabling the camera to also capture sharply focused images in full HD colour both day and night. If motion is detected while the Eyes Outdoor Camera II is in security mode, the device shows another of its talents. In addition to high-precision video recording, its integrated 75-decibel siren sounds a loud alarm and its red upper and lower lights begin to flash, thus providing both audible and visual deterrence in emergencies. Of course, when a stranger enters one’s property, it doesn’t necessarily mean danger. For example, the visitor could simply be a parcel carrier arriving at the door with a long-awaited delivery when no one is at home. In this case, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II acts like an intercom system. Via livestream on their smartphone, the user can see who is standing in front of the door and can communicate with them by means of the integrated loudspeaker and microphone. This makes it easy to instruct parcel carriers where they can safely leave their deliveries. Brings light into the darkness The integrated lighting options provide an additional sense of security. Using innovative DualRadar technology, the camera detects movements and measures distances with two modern radar sensors. It covers a field of vision of 180° and, as soon as movement is detected, it illuminates the property in the desired brightness. The property can initially be lit by subdued lighting or, as a deterrent, by bright lamps shining at full intensity. This way, passing cars or passers-by outside the monitored area do not trigger the motion light. The Bosch Smart Camera app enables its user to adjust the brightness of the front lamp (from warm to cool white) as well as the top and bottom lights, which can optimally illuminate the property in more than 1 500 colours. All lamps can also be individually switched and used with automatic twilight or individual time settings. Uncompromising design Available in silver or anthracite metallic, the Eyes Outdoor Camera II convinces users thanks to its thoroughly stylish design, which earned it both the Red Dot “Best of Best” Design Award (2023) and the iF Design Award (2023). With its modern style and clever combination of a camera and outdoor lighting, it appealingly yet unobtrusively welcomes guests and residents alike. Access-protected storage The 100 most recent video clips are automatically saved free of charge for seven days in the access-protected cloud storage. This enables users to re-evaluate or save individual video recordings. People who need even more storage space can opt for the Cloud+ extension , which lets them customise clip lengths, save video recordings for 30 days and permanently store up to 25 of their favourite clips. Particularly clever: the Cloud+ extension covers all cameras in the Bosch Smart Home system. Even smarter in the system The Eyes Outdoor Camera II can be integrated* into existing Bosch Smart Home systems to trigger smart automations and individual scenarios.
