Bosch is launching two cordless orbital sanders with the GSS 12V-13 Professional and the GSS 18V-13 Professional. These tools enable professionals to work on edges and corners with ease and convenience. The lighter and more compact GSS 12V-13 Professional is the first orbital sander in the Professional 12V System, which is used to its best advantage when it comes to performing vertical or overhead work. The GSS 18V-13 Professional from the Professional 18V System is recommended for larger surfaces and a long application period. The 18V system even goes beyond the Bosch portfolio, thanks to the multi-brand AmpShare battery alliance. Many brands, many tools, one battery system: All tools, from compact drill drivers to miter saws with up to 2,000W of equivalent corded power, can be operated with the same 18V lithium-ion battery and just one charger – saving tradespeople time, space, and money.

Maximum flexibility and an ideally coordinated system

With these two orbital sanders, Bosch is extending the range of cordless sanders and offering professionals everything they need to produce even surfaces. Sanding stairs, window shutters, door and wall paneling, and much more: The GSS 12V-13 Professional and GSS 18V-13 Professional make work easier on any project, no matter if it is a new construction or renovation/restoration work. The tools offer woodworkers, painters, and varnishers greater versatility on sanding work than comparable competitor models. Thanks to three sanding plates of different shapes – square, rectangular, and triangular – professionals can quickly and easily adapt their orbital sanders to the application. These plates can be simply changed and reach even corners in hard to access areas. In combination with the already available cordless random orbit sanders GEX-12V-125 Professional and GEX 18V-125 Professional for the sanding of larger surfaces, the orbital sanders provide tradespeople with an optimal system.

Efficient, lightweight and easy to handle for maximum tool control

Both cordless orbital sanders are especially efficient due to their high-performance brushless motors. Their shape is identical to the existing random orbit sanders and combines a comfortable palm rest at the front and a slim grip close to the workpiece ‒ thus differing significantly from the bulky tower shape of comparable battery-powered competitor models. The tools are also very light, weighing only 0.975 and 1.615 kilograms with the recommended 3.0 Ah battery and ProCore18V 4.0 Ah battery respectively. The GSS 12V-13 Professional and GSS 18V-13 Professional can therefore be easily guided with one hand or two hands. Due to the proximity to the workpiece, they provide maximum tool control and are much more ergonomic than current cordless models on the market. To ensure optimal tool balance and an efficient work process, Bosch recommends a 3.0 Ah battery for the 12V tool and a ProCore18V battery with 4.0 Ah for the 18V tool. No matter what material is being sanded, the connectable dust bag ensures low dust levels on the job. Thanks to the Click & Clean function, the tool can also be connected to a dust extractor, e.g. the GAS 18V-10 L Professional wet/dry extractor, which is also cordless.

The GSS 12V-13 Professional and GSS 18V-13 Professional will be available from January 2023. Suitable sanding paper, e.g., Expert C470, is available from the Bosch range of accessories. The prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT.
