press release

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – Bosch eBike Systems is strengthening its presence in the important Swiss pedelec market. In future a technical and a marketing expert will be dealing solely with the concerns of Swiss customers. To underscore the increased importance of the Swiss market the company is also represented for the first time with a stand of its own, K 80, at the Solothurn Bike Days. From 8 to 10 May 2015 more than 20,000 people are expected at Switzerland’s largest bike festival.

eBikes are an established feature of the Swiss cycling culture
In 2014, 17% more eBikes were sold in Switzerland than in the previous year. Already, one bike in six sold between Zurich and Zermatt benefits from an electric “tailwind”. “In Switzerland the eBike is already an established feature of the cycling culture. In order to deal even more specifically with the needs of current and prospective eBike owners we are intensifying our marketing activities and our presence at events such as the Bike Days in Switzerland,” says Tamara Winograd, in charge of marketing communication at Bosch eBike Systems. That is why the Swiss Bosch team has since April 2015 been strengthened by the marketing pro Beat Brechbühl. The first contact for retailers is technical expert Markus Schleszies.

Test connected eBikes at the Bike Days
Connecting eBike and rider is the main focus at the Bosch eBike Systems stand. The all-in-one Nyon on-board computer marks the next step in eBiking by recommending the right route and recording fitness and route data. Visitors are more than welcome to try it out at the Bike Days. On Nyon handlebars they can test the functions of the on-board computer and on an adjoining test circuit they can put different makes of eBike with Bosch drive systems through their paces. Bosch experts will be there to answer any questions that visitors interested in an eBike with a Bosch drive system may have.
