press release

Bosch is now expanding its dust extraction system for professionals to include dust guards for angle grinders. In doing so, Bosch will in future be offering professional tradespeople not only a comprehensive range for ensuring low dust levels when drilling and chiseling, but also solutions to make cutting and slotting stone materials such as concrete, tiles, brick and sandstone kind to their health and their tools. These dust guards fit the common angle grinders from Bosch. Five different models are available: two “Easy Adjust” dust guards which are especially quick and easy to mount, and three “Full Cover” versions which have a closed design for extracting dust even more efficiently – exactly where it originates. Users no longer have the hassle of having to clean up after work. This enables construction tradespeople, roofers, electricians, plumbers, floorers and tilers to work in a way which is kinder to their health, faster and more precise.

Immediately ready to use: the “Easy Adjust” dust guards
The GDE 125 EA-S Professional and GDE 125 EA-T Professional “Easy Adjust” dust guards are quick and exceptionally easy to mount. Both dust guards are designed for small angle grinders with 125 millimeter diameter and are harmonized with the different mounting types of the protective guards used on each angle grinder: S stands for Screw and T for Toolless. Both dust guards are simply pulled over the existing protective guards and connected to the tool by means of a click mechanism. The “Easy Adjust” dust guards are therefore especially suitable for applications involving frequent material change, where their ability to be mounted quickly saves time. Furthermore, they ensure precise results due to their low weight, their cutting depth adjustment, and a mark indicating the cutting line.

Exceptionally efficient: the “Full Cover” dust guards
The GDE 115/125 FC-T Professional, GDE 230 FC-S Professional and GDE 230 FC-T Professional “Full Cover” versions meet the highest dust protection requirements. Unlike the “Easy Adjust” dust guards, they are not pulled over the existing protective guards, rather they replace them completely. They extract dust even more efficiently due to their closed design. This high level of efficiency has been confirmed in independent tests by the German institution for statutory accident insurance and prevention in the building trade (BG Bau). At the same time, the “Full Cover” versions also offer easy handling thanks to their balanced design, low weight and integrated rollers. The GDE 115/125 FC-T Professional dust guard is designed for small angle grinders with a diameter of 115 and 125 millimeters, while the GDE 230 FC-S Professional and GDE 230 FC-T Professional are designed for large angle grinders with 230 millimeter diameter. As with the “Easy Adjust” models, they have cutting depth adjustment and a cutting line mark to enable precise use.

Compatible with the “Click & Clean System” for a high health and safety level
All of the dust guards are compatible with the Bosch “Click & Clean System”. It comprises power tools, wet/dry dust extractors, dust extractor accessories and L-Boxxes, which are precisely harmonized with each other and which combine to help make work healthier, kinder to your tools, faster, more efficient and more precise. They are therefore an important part of meeting the high requirements of occupational health and safety. The GAS 35 M AFC Professional and GAS 55 M AFC Professional wet/dry dust extractors, which are M-certified for dust containing quartz, can be used.

The “Easy Adjust” and “Full Cover” dust guards for angle grinders will be available at specialist retail outlets from May 2015 onwards. Bosch has developed the “Dust Guard Finder” to enable tradespeople to quickly and easily check which dust guard fits which angle grinder. A QR code on the packaging of the dust guards leads to the corresponding website which enables a compatibility check to be done.
