press release

Beissbarth develops and manufactures precision measuring equipment for the service organization of manufacturers, independent vehicle workshops and inspection organizations worldwide – always according to the quality requirements given by the automotive manufacturers. Beissbarth's development core focuses especially on high precision optical systems for wheel alignment, on test lanes for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorbikes as well as on headlamp adjustment devices. Moreover, Beissbarth also offers tire changers, wheel balancers, AC Service equipment and lifts. Thanks to its many decades of competence and experience, many automotive manufacturers rely on products by Beissbarth.

Current product highlights at the Automechanika
With the start of the trade fair, the Beissbarth Development Department launches the "Touchless" wheel alignment. Stereo cameras with laser projectors in all four sensor heads measure 4 wheels simultaneously. This does not even require measure marks on the tires or the installation of other auxiliary devices. Setup times excluded, highly precision wheel alignment is possible within seconds. Thus, the system is particularly suited for the use at the workshop check-in.

Beissbarth also offers an extensive range of digital headlamp adjustment devices. The newest product is the MLD 815, which makes high precision inspection and adjustment works on Xenon and LED headlamps possible by means of digital CMOS camera technology and numerous high-quality system components.

The manufacturer-specific systems for automatic headlamp range adjustment increase the complexity of the adjustments especially for modern headlamp systems. For applications like this, the digital headlamp adjustment device MD 815 by Beissbarth is the future-proof solution for modern workshops. Laser technology supports the service employees in exactly aligning the light box of the adjustment device to the vehicle and to the lamp (Xenon or LED projection unit). The user is provided in real time with the measurement results on an interactive 5.7" touchscreen display.

The tire changer MS 630 with G-frame, which sets a new benchmark for robustness and solidity, is also new in the Beissbarth product range. Especially when mounting and demounting Ultra High Performance tires (UHP) or Run-flat tires (RFT), strong forces act on the mounting head. The G-Frame concept of the new Beissbarth mounting devices was developed based on the computer-assisted finite element method. Thanks to its geometry, the mounting head of the MS 620 always stays exactly in position. Next to numerous improvements in detail, special emphasis was put on high working speed: thus, the bead breaking of the tires is now done 40 per cent quicker than with the previous product generation; and compared to traditional devices up to 25 per cent of time can be saved during the inflation of the tires. Also especially worth mentioning is that the speed of the clamping turntable is controlled with the MS 630's pedal, in case of type 1ph/230V continuously via the frequency converter.

A brand with a long tradition
The Beissbarth GmbH was originally founded already in 1899 by the Munich merchants Daniel and Hermann Beissbarth. The two Bavarian automotive pioneers received the very first vehicle registration plate with the no. 1 and Germany's first driver's license was also issued in their name. In 1951, the sons of the company's founders finally developed the first workshop service device, a wheel balancer. The production of lifts as of 1960, the development of optical systems for wheel alignment in the 1970s and the manufacture of entire test lanes for passenger cars and trucks as of 1990 are further milestones in the company's history. Beissbarth has been a Bosch Group company already since April 2007 and is integrated in the Automotive Service Solutions product area of the Automotive Aftermarket Business Division.
