Bosch continues its successful partnership with Nissan and now offers the Japanese automaker a new, powerful multimedia system with an innovative navigation function to supply Nissan customers all over the world with a high-quality infotainment solution for connected contents and services.

Thanks to the new NissanConnect system, vehicle passengers never need to lose touch with the outside world while on the road. In addition to a 7 inch color touchscreen, it incorporates many very impressive convenience and entertainment functions in a single device. This includes the use of Google® Local Search and Send-to-Car, for example, a Bluetooth® hands-free system, high-quality music enjoyment based on audio streaming or Digital Radio and last but not least, the latest in smartphone integration via Bluetooth® or USB, regardless of whether the device used has an Android or iOS operating system.

Based on the great success of the first device generation, Bosch und Nissan worked together in close cooperation to develop a connected infotainment system of the latest generation that boasts a host of connectivity options. "With this level of connectivity, we are giving the convenience, safety and efficiency of mobility a significant boost, while putting the fascination of the digital world on the road at the same time," comments Manfred Baden, President of the Car Multimedia Division at Bosch. "The new NissanConnect technology flagship with navigation bundles all of today’s most desirable connectivity and entertainment functions in one device. As a result, we now offer a unique user experience as well as a multitude of new multimedia features," Manfred Baden continues.

Easy operation and touchscreen control
The NissanConnect’s low-glare 7-inch color touchscreen along with the keys and control knobs promise intuitive system operation. The function keys enable direct access to important functions; clear-cut, simply designed graphics allow the driver to fully concentrate on the current traffic conditions and driving.

Convenient route planning – at home
In addition to route guidance using 2D or 2.5D map display, the Nissan-Connect’s SD-card-based navigation system is also equipped with different driver assistance and navigation functions. Besides the option of choosing an economical route to save fuel, this includes dynamic traffic-congestion avoidance, the display of exits, lane recommendations, curve and speed warners as well as the connection with navigation-enhancing apps.

Nissan drivers can also conveniently plan their driving route with Google® Send-to-Car from their home PC, on a laptop, tablet or smartphone and already send the destination address to the NissanConnect system in the car from home. Thanks to compatibility with Google® services, there is a host of other information available on local POIs (Points of Interest) in the vicinity of the current vehicle location or close to the destination – these can include parking lots or filling stations, restaurants or ATMs.

Connected any and everywhere
Thanks to the smartphone connection, the central display and the integrated hands-free system, the NissanConnect makes it a breeze to stay in touch with the outside world anywhere, anytime. This means that the system in the vehicle can become a natural part of the driver’s connected lifestyle, just like a smartphone or a tablet, making it possible to find your way around an unfamiliar city as if you were a local, to have your current messages read to you at any time or to stay connected with friends on social networks. Music can be enjoyed with the USB or Bluetooth® connection just as well as by audio streaming; the telephone is operated hands-free.

Music anytime
In addition, the NissanConnect is equipped with a multitude of high-quality audio sources: The enhanced digital music enjoyment ranges from traditional AM/FM radio reception to listening to the radio via DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) right on up to over-the-air internet radio as well as online or audio music streaming. Needless to say, it is also possible to play CDs or MP3 music files or connect an iPod® or an MP3 player, allowing you to access your entire music library on the road – there’s nothing more to be desired and the cover of the album currently being played is displayed on the screen.

Thanks to this highly integrated, easy-operation multimedia unit made by Bosch, Nissan enhances its vehicle range with a connected system that can be intuitively experienced and creates a wide range of infotainment and assistance functions with state-of-the-art added value.
