press release

There is now a new generation of the successful Isio grass and shrub shear from Bosch. A new special feature is the “Multi-Click System”, which enables the grass shear blade and the shrub shear blade to be changed exceptionally quickly and easily: simultaneously press down the two red buttons fitted on the right and left of the tool and not only the blade but the complete baseplate including blade is released. Together they form a changeable attachment which significantly increases the flexibility of the tools and makes them even easier to operate. Once the attachment that is no longer required has been released, the next one is simply clicked on.

Additional function for even wider range of applications
Bosch has also made the Isio smaller and more versatile: it now has 15 percent less volume than its predecessor model and is therefore even more compact and comfortable to handle. A new feature is the spray attachment, which can be used to apply water-soluble pesticides or fertilizers in common household concentrations to plants simply by the press of a button. Depending on the settings, the nozzle delivers a directed spray jet through to a fine spray mist. The transparent tank can hold one liter. The Isio sprays for up to 40 minutes per battery charge, which corresponds to about eight full tanks. The tool also sits comfortably in the hand at all times due to its balanced center of gravity.

Tried-and-tested features have been kept, such as the Anti-Blocking System which enables the blade to reliably and powerfully cut even thicker branches or dense tufts of grass, or the four-phase charge level indicator which displays the available energy in four stages from 100 to 35 percent, 35 to 15 percent, 15 to 5 percent and 5 percent to zero by means of two colors and continuous light or flashing light. The Isio also continues to be a light-weight among garden tools thanks to its tried-and-tested lithium-ion technology at approximately 500 grams including grass shear blade or 550 grams including shrub shear blade.

Improved telescopic handle
As with the Isio, the telescopic handle has also been enhanced: in addition to the grass shear, the shrub shear can now also be used with it. A high level of comfort during work with the extension is ensured by the handle’s rotating head: it can be turned 90 degrees to the right or 90 degrees to the left. This enables shrubs to be conveniently cut sideways without the user having to twist their hand. The handle’s head can also be tilted in three stages, which makes overhead work in particular easier. The telescopic handle has continuously variable adjustment of maximum 25 centimeters.

The new Isio will be available at retail outlets from January 2014 onwards in the following versions:
  • with grass shear attachment for 69.99 euros,
  • with shrub shear attachment for 69.99 euros,
  • with both attachments for 79.99 euros.
Each version is supplied in a softcase including charger.
The spray attachment is available as an accessory for 29.99 euros.
There is also the Isio with grass shear attachment in a set with the telescopic handle for 99.99 euros. The set version is supplied in a carton.
All prices are recommended retail prices including VAT.
