Bosch is introducing new flagship products for woodworking: The Biturbo saws ‒ cordless GKS 18V-68 GC Professional and GKS 18V-68 C Professional hand-held circular saws, cordless GKT 18V-52 GC Professional plunge saw, and cordless GCM 18V-216 Professional sliding miter saw ‒ are optimized for maximum performance with ProCore18V batteries and are therefore more powerful than all previous cordless saws from Bosch. Craftsmen in woodworking trades can therefore make use of a performance class which up until now was reserved for corded tools with 1,600 to 1,800 Watts. The difference between the saws is their application area: carpenters and roofers can use the cordless hand-held circular saws, for example, to quickly and reliably cut beams to length or chipboard with a maximum cutting depth of up to 70 millimeters. The GKT 18V-52 GC Professional is the first plunge saw in the 18V product range. It ensures precise cut-outs in materials which are up to 40 millimeters thick, and accurate panel cuts due to its guide rail compatibility. It is therefore highly suitable for joiners and kitchen makers. The GCM 18V-216 Professional sliding miter saw is also celebrating a premiere in the 18V segment. It does not matter whether it is used to cut wood stand profiles, parquet flooring or skirting boards, this saw helps improving trades and has the largest cutting depth in its class with 70 millimeters. For further Biturbo tools, please refer to PI 10894.

With just one battery, all four Biturbo saws are just as powerful as competitor models, which operate with two batteries or in a higher voltage class. This is based on the optimum coordination of their self-developed, brushless high-performance motor with electronics and a battery in such a way that the entire potential of the ProCore18V battery with 8.0 and 12.0 Ah are exploited. Only this makes power-intensive sawing applications possible.

All Biturbo saws in detail

The cordless GKS 18V-68 GC Professional hand-held circular saw is a good 15 percent quicker and, with the 8.0 Ah battery, is even 225 grams lighter than the comparable corded 1,800 W tool. The front features a bow handle rather than a knob, making it easier and safer to move ‒ even in an inclined position. Its cutting depth increased to 68 millimeters while depth setting is easier than ever: It is performed with just one hand at the push of a button. In addition to high efficiency, one of the special features of the cordless GKT 18V-52 GC Professional plunge saw is its compactness ‒ handling and transportation are therefore easier. Professionals can also work particularly close to edges: With a wall clearance of 10 millimeters, it is the best in its class. Even during work that generates very little dust: Since the vacuum adapter can be turned 360 degrees, the supplied dust bag does not get in the way. Both saws are suitable for use with guide rails and offer value-added thanks to the new user interface and connectivity functions: This means that craftsmen can always see the status of the tool and battery. They can also extend the runtime by up to 30 percent with the “Eco Mode” or individually adapt the cutting speed to the particular application. Maintenance has also become simpler: For example, a repair order can be conveniently sent using an app. Anyone preferring a basic tool with a cutting depth of 70 millimeters can use the cordless GKS 18V-68 C Professional hand-held circular saw.

With its cutting depth of 70 millimeters, the cordless GCM 18V-216 Professional sliding miter saw provides craftsmen with a wider range of applications than any other sliding miter saw with a 216 millimeter blade. Cutting strips or substructures, sawing square timbers or panels to miters, cutting parquet flooring to length – the saw reliably performs all these tasks and is also characterized by a very quick and tool-free blade change thanks to a clamp screw. The tool is designed for mobile use: Thanks to its ergonomic handle, it can easily be transported with one hand ‒ the saw head and traction function are simply locked for this purpose. The equipment is completed by a laser, which displays the cutting line, a work light and a dust bag for work generating very little dust.

The Biturbo saws are operated most efficiently with the high-performance ProCore18V batteries with 8.0 Ah and 12.0 Ah. The Bosch Professional 18 Volt system guarantees compatibility with new and existing power tools and chargers in this voltage class. There is also a wide range of accessories which are optimized for use with cordless saws: “Expert for” and “Standard for” blades with carbide technology extend the battery runtime and also increase efficiency.
