Medical technology as an innovation field: Entry into BioMEMS technology

Bosch is systematically expanding innovation fields that offer opportunities for growth. In medical technology, for example, it has announced it will be working on a novel BioMEMS technology that combines molecular diagnostics with microsystems technology. This enables precise tests for up to 250 genetic characteristics, such as pathogens or genetic mutations, on a single chip – directly at the point of care, such as in a doctor’s office. By 2030, the supplier of technology and services plans to invest around 300 million euros in this with two partners.
