According to preliminary figures, Bosch once again generated record sales of 77.9 billion euros in 2018. Earnings from operations before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to some 5.3 billion euros in 2018. Mobility Solutions generated 47 billion euros, making it the business sector with the highest sales. Bosch sold a total of 52 million web-enabled products in 2018, 37 percent more than in the previous year. Worldwide, 69,500 associates were employed in research and development, 5,200 more than in the previous year. As of December 31, Bosch employed some 410,000 associates worldwide, an increase of 7,800.
