With the rotary hammers GBH 18V-24 C Professional and GBH 18V-28 C/CF Professional, Bosch is expanding its Professional 18V System portfolio for professional users. The tools offer different functions and drilling diameters: The optimal drilling diameter range for the GBH 18V-24 C Professional is between 8 and 14 mm, with 24 mm as the maximum. For the GBH 18V-28 C/CF Professional, the optimum is 8 to 18 mm, with a maximum of 28 mm. Users can also choose between models with a fixed chuck (C) or quick-change chuck (CF).

The new L-shape makes these models more compact than previous D-shaped tools. Featuring an optimized powertrain and brushless motor, these models also take efficiency to the next level. The GBH 18V-24 C Professional was developed to offer an optimal impact-energy-to-runtime ratio. It is especially useful for drilling holes for medium anchors, such as attachments for wall or facade elements. With its powerful impact energy of 3.3 J, the GBH 18V-28 C/CF Professional outperforms comparable 18V models and even its own 36V predecessor. It is also suitable for larger drilling diameters, such as for sink installation in the plumbing and sanitation trade. The Professional 18V System covers all major 18V applications and even works with brands beyond Bosch, with additional partners in the multi-brand AmpShare battery alliance. Many brands. Many tools. One battery system: All tools ‒ from compact drill drivers to miter saws with up to 2,000W of equivalent corded power ‒ can run on the same 18V lithium-ion battery and charger, thus saving tradespeople time, space, and money.

Optimal control and user protection

How long can I keep working with the current battery charge? Is my tool in good working condition? Tradespeople can check the tool and battery status anytime by checking the user interface, an interactive control panel, right on the tool. The control panel can also be used to set different modes for easier, more efficient work. The GBH 18V-24 C Professional offers ‘Auto’ and ‘Favorite’ modes. The ‘Auto’ mode is for maximum power during jobs such as drilling concrete, while the ‘Favorite’ mode allows users to customize the tool’s drilling performance via the Bosch Toolbox app, which lets them pair the tool with their smartphone. The required Bluetooth module is already installed in the tool, putting the connectivity features right at the user’s fingertips. The GBH 18V-28 C/CF Professional additionally offers ‘Soft’ mode, which reduces rpm and impact power when working with sensitive materials such as tile and masonry; the connectivity module for Bluetooth control via the app is available as an option.

A further advantage of these tools is that they provide a high level of user protection thanks to Vibration Control and KickBack Control. If the hammer drill suddenly and unpredictably rotates around the drilling axis – which can happen if it jams in reinforced concrete, for example – the built-in sensor shuts off the motor in a fraction of a second. This feature prevents unexpected kickback and may reduce the risk of injury. To minimize dust while working, users can use the cordless dust extractor GDE 18V-16 Professional with their tools. The dust extractor is powered by the tool’s battery. It automatically switches on during drilling and automatically switches off two seconds after the hammer’s trigger switch is released. In this case, the maximum drilling diameter is 16 mm, with a maximum depth of 100 mm.

The GBH 18V-24 C Professional cordless rotary hammer is available now. The GBH 18V-28 C/CF Professional will follow in May 2023. All prices are recommended retail prices and do not include VAT.
