Plochingen, Germany – Bosch is expanding its workshop equipment portfolio with the BIT 1000, a new high-voltage battery insulation tester. The device has been specially developed for the needs of the electromobility market and replaces the tried-and-tested FSA 050. For workshops involved in maintaining and repairing electric and hybrid vehicles, it provides maximum safety, precision, and efficiency. The BIT 1000 is available now and is being offered at an excellent price/performance ratio.

Safety and precision for high-voltage work

Working on high-voltage systems requires the utmost care and specialized tools. The Bosch BIT 1000 was developed to ensure the safety of workshop personnel while providing precise diagnostic results. It enables reliable insulation testing of high-voltage components, detects degradation and leaks, and thus ensures safe vehicle operation. One safety feature is that the capacitor voltage is automatically discharged after measurement, which protects the operator from accidental electric shocks. Insulation resistance is measured with different test voltages (125 V, 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V), which the BIT 1000 automatically adapts to each object being tested.

One tool, multiple functions

The BIT 1000 is truly versatile: it combines the functionality of a high-voltage insulation tester with comprehensive multimeter functions and an integrated infrared thermal imaging camera. This means that workshop professionals can not only measure voltage (AC/DC up to 1000 V), resistance, and frequency, but they can also measure surface temperatures from -20°C to 260°C without contact. The tester thus makes it possible to quickly and reliably identify hot spots and potential problems in electrical components, battery systems, and powertrain units without direct contact to live components.

Intuitive operation and smart data management

For smooth workflows in the workshop, the BIT 1000 is equipped with a clear 3.5-inch color display and an intuitive rotary switch for selecting the desired measurement method. Bluetooth connectivity allows wireless monitoring, recording, and analysis of data, making it much easier to document and share measurement results. The robust housing and special test cables are designed for demanding everyday use in the workshop and ensure a long service life.

All this makes the Bosch BIT 1000 the ideal partner for independent workshops and wholesalers who want to adapt to the growing importance of electromobility and offer their customers the highest quality and safety.
