Bologna - A/C service specialist Robinair presents its new high-end air-conditioning service units on stand D18, hall 30 of the Autopromotec trade fair in Bologna taking place from May 22 to 26, 2019. Complemented by medium-priced and economical entry-level units, the Robinair product range includes matching solutions to meet the individual requirements of automotive workshops.

Premium products for fully automatic air-conditioning service

The new Robinair AC1x34-7i, AC1234-7i and AC1234-8i A/C service units provide ideal conditions for efficient maintenance and repair of passenger-car and commercial-vehicle air conditioning systems working with R134a and R1234yf refrigerants. Besides eased operation and fully automatic routines, the developers at Robinair also increased the performance of these new units in comparison with their predecessor series. Within short time, these units recover 99 percent of the refrigerant. During filling, pressure and temperature controls ensure a precision level of 15 grams. A two-stage vacuum pump with a delivery rate of 170 liters per minute allows quick and efficient maintenance – even for rather big air conditioning systems used in light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and trucks. The closed fresh-oil injection system and the internal flushing systems prevent mixing of different oils. As a result, the units of the new series can also be used for air conditioning systems of vehicles with electric drives. At the top model Robinair AC1234-8i, the purity of the R1234yf refrigerant is also tested automatically. In addition, these systems are also equipped with an integrated forming-gas pressure test option for leak tests.

An innovative graphical user interface on a 7-inch color display supports the workshop staff concerning the operation and monitoring of the new AC1x34-7i, AC1234-7i and AC1234-8i air-conditioning service units. Moreover, the free-of-charge AC Connect app can be used for remote monitoring of the units’ work status as well as to pause and resume the workflow via smartphone. This allows members of the workshop staff to make better use of their time performing other tasks in parallel to the A/C service. The new A/C service units are equipped with a vehicle database. Thanks to their integrated WLAN dongle, they can network with Bosch Connected Repair workshop software, the ASA Network and the AC Connect app. Furthermore, both the database and the device software can also be updated wirelessly by means the WLAN interface. Using the integrated printer, the maintenance results can be printed out right at the workplace as well.

AC1234-5i and AC1x34-5i: fully automatic and accurate

The medium-priced Robinair segment is complemented by the AC1234-5i and AC1x34-5i A/C service units. Both of these units for R134a and R1234yf refrigerants also work fully automatically, they are equipped with the same components and basic functions as the premium version and they are equally precise and resource-saving. Moreover, features of the high-end units can easily be integrated. They can, for instance, be upgraded by means of an integrated printer, an automatic leak tester, a WLAN dongle allowing networking with Bosch Connected Repair and device monitoring via a smartphone app. Workshops are thus given the possibility to adapt their air-conditioning service units to their individual requirements.

ACM3000yf and ACM3000: well-proven technology to start servicing A/C systems

For many years, ACM3000, the well-proven entry-level unit for professional servicing of automotive A/C systems running on R134a refrigerant, has been part of the Robinair range of products. Based on this unit, Robinair developed ACM3000yf, an A/C service unit for R1234yf-driven air conditioning systems which was also presented at the Autopromotec. Both of these units include all functions required for economical and straightforward A/C service. They ensure fully automatic and precise refrigerant recovery, recycling and filling. An optional printer can also be connected.

AC790PRO: professional A/C service on trucks and buses

On its stand, Robinair will also exhibit the AC790PRO air-conditioning service unit for the special requirements of A/C systems of trucks and buses. It is designed for the maintenance of R134a-based high-capacity air conditioning systems. Of course, refrigerant recovery, recycling and filling are also controlled automatically. Five-meter service hoses ease its connection to air conditioning systems – even in case of large vehicles. The remaining accessories are also perfectly geared to commercial-vehicle applications. They include a two-liter bottle for oil injection and recovery of large amounts of compressor lubricant as well as a 35-kilogram refrigerant tank. A high-performance filling pump ensures quick refrigerant and oil filling. A double fan ensures both temperature control and constant refrigerant pressure during the recovery phase. At the same time, it protects the unit against overheating.

Comprehensive range of accessories for any workshop task related to air conditioning systems

Besides air-conditioning service units as such, Robinair also offers anything workshops need for effective maintenance and repair of automotive air conditioning systems from a single source. Together with the car manufacturers, Robinair developed special flushing kits and manufacturer-specific adapters for the refilling of air-conditioning service units. Robinair refrigerant detectors ease the detection of leaks within the refrigerant circuit. Sensors, for example, show the amount of refrigerant detected in air and guide the user to the leak. Using UV colorant, UV-LED lamps allow the localization of leaks. For a basic leak tests on air conditioning systems, Robinair developed a tracer-gas test kit allowing workshops to detect even smallest leaks by means of a hydrogen/nitrogen mixture. But Robinair’s range of accessories also includes all auxiliary and contrast agents required for leak detection. The refrigerant identification device prevents expensive mix-ups of both R134a and R1234yf refrigerants. The refrigerant tester indicates if the refrigerant R134a inside the air conditioning system is contaminated. Quick couplings, service adapters, oil bottles, filter dryers and premium vacuum oils complete Robinair's range of accessories – which will also be shown at the Autopromotec fair.

For more than 60 years, Robinair has been setting benchmarks concerning air-conditioning service

Founded in Warren, Michigan in 1956, Robinair focused on the development of A/C service units at a quite early stage. Already back in 1960, the company offered automotive workshops a comprehensive product range for air-condition servicing. In the 1970ies, Robinair launched the first unit combining refrigerant recovery, recycling and filling. Again and again, the company set technical standards and pioneered the development of precision equipment for straightforward and environmentally friendly A/C service. Furthermore, Robinair also provides workshops with service equipment and know-how for the maintenance of temperature management systems of hybrid and electric vehicles. With sales and service offices on every continent, Robinair is by now the leading manufacturer of air-conditioning service equipment. It has been part of the Bosch Group since late 2012.
