Artificial intelligence is increasingly making inroads into manufacturing. In quality assurance, for example, Bosch has developed ViPAS, an AI-based system that uses pattern recognition to determine whether products are faulty. In a pilot project at the Bosch plant in Nuremberg, Germany, ViPAS completed 12,000 test procedures with a success rate of 99.9 percent.
