Bosch views artificial intelligence (AI) as a core area of expertise. The technology and services company aims to be a world leader in AI innovation: by 2021, Bosch plans to quadruple the number of its in-house AI experts from 1,000 to 4,000. By the middle of the next decade, 100 percent of Bosch products will be equipped with AI, or AI will have played a part in their development and manufacture. Associates at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence are currently working on nearly 150 AI projects. AI is also a key technology for the internet of things (IoT): in 2018, Bosch sold a total of 52 million web-enabled products, 37 percent more than in the previous year.
