press release

Bosch is extending its range of 18 volt power tools to include a new cordless saber saw – the ultra-compact and powerful GSA 18 V-LI C Professional. Thanks to its compact design, its low weight of just 2.5 kilograms and the high performance that you would expect of an 18-volt tool, the new saw combines the compactness of the GSA 10.8 V-LI Professional and the power of the GSA 18 V-LI Professional. This powerhouse tool guarantees fast sawing progress, even during use overhead and in hard-to-reach areas. This precision cordless saw for electricians, installers and interior construction professionals is the ideal tool for many different applications – such as cutting and trimming metal tubes and sheet-metal covers, as well as versatile cutting operations in wood paneling and drywalls.

Soft start and low vibration for precise and comfortable working
The GSA 18 V-LI C Professional has a motor with a soft-start feature that allows smooth starting and more controlled and precise operation. This function enables the saber saw to be safely positioned and guided through the material being cut – regardless of whether it is metal, wooden pallets or drywall construction elements. Low vibration values allow fatigue-free and health-friendly working, even for lengthy periods, as well as operation with only one hand. Cutting speed can be variably adjusted as required. A stroke rate of up to 3050 strokes per minute ensures fast cutting progress.

Accessories for any application and high-performance 5.0 Ah battery
As a systems supplier, Bosch offers a wide range of accessories such as saw blades for various applications in wood or metal, giving skilled professionals a high degree of flexibility. Thanks to the tried and tested SDS system, saw blades can be changed easily, conveniently and without the need for a wrench. To ensure fast sawing progress and long runtime, the GSA 18 V-LI C Professional has a powerful DC motor and is supplied with a 5.0 Ah battery. The “Electronic Cell Protection” (ECP) system protects the lithium ion battery against overload, overheating and total discharge, and maximizes battery life.

In addition to low weight and the anti-vibration system, a feature that is key to comfortable and controlled handling is the anatomically shaped multigrip handle for secure grip of the cordless saber saw. An LED light illuminates the work site, even in the dark and in areas where visibility is impaired.

The GSA 18 V-LI C Professional cordless saber saw will be available from January 2016 onwards for 399 euros at specialist retail outlets. It will be supplied in the L-Boxx including AL 1860 CV Professional charger, two 5.0 Ah lithium ion batteries and three saw blades. The tool is also part of the “Clic & Go” sales system for 18 volt cordless tools by Bosch.

All specified prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT.
