press release

The GLM 50 C Professional laser measure from Bosch combines the fast and convenient measurement of lengths, surfaces, volumes and inclinations with simple documentation. Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth interface, measurement data can be transferred directly to the tried-and-tested GLM apps – the GLM measurement&document app for smartphones and tablets as well as the GLM floor plan app for tablets – and can be digitally processed. This means that engineers, architects and tradespeople such as drywall constructors, floor layers and installers are able to take measurements more efficiently, and to document and process construction works even more easily. For example, measurement data and notes can directly added, right there and then, to images captured with a smartphone or tablet. Based on this information, tradespeople can plan materials usage, prepare quotations for customers and place purchase orders immediately and on site. Data can also be sent by mail, simplifying decision-making across physical distances and saving time.

New and tried-and-tested functions provide a wide range of applications
The GLM 50 C Professional measures distances up to 50 meters with an accuracy of ±1.5 millimeters. It continues the successful GLM series and enhances it with new functions. With the unrivaled stake-out function, for instance, users can measure and mark out identical distances very quickly. For example, this simplifies the positioning of profiles in drywall construction. When the stake-out function is activated, the color display shows the actual distance in red and the specified distance in blue. When the selected distance is reached, the text color changes automatically from red to green. This allows the user to see at a glance when the distance is correct.

The GLM 50 C Professional can save up to 30 measured values, and can add the results together and subtract them from each other. In addition, it features a 360° tilt sensor and, therefore, can also be used to measure inclinations and as a digital spirit level. The leveling can be read using a simple target graphic.

The color display rotates automatically with the laser measure, allowing the user to easily read off values in any situation and at any inclination. The measuring accuracy and the range of this instrument are certified to ISO standard 16331-1. This means that the specifications provided are based on defined parameters that are the same on all certified instruments. This enables tradespeople to make an objective comparison of the measuring accuracy and range of certified laser measures. Furthermore, the GLM 50 C Professional is dust and splashproof to IP 54, extremely rugged and therefore also suitable for heavy-duty use on the construction site.

Optimize your work flows and boost your productivity with the GLM apps
The GLM 50 C Professional gives users mobility. Thanks to the Bluetooth interface, measurement data can be transferred to a smartphone or tablet at any time – for example, directly to an image captured by the GLM measurment&document app. This eliminates the need for making handwritten notes on paper and rules out transcription errors. The app can also be used as a remote control when taking measurements with the GLM 50 C Professional.

Planners and tradespeople can use the GLM floor plan app to create and update floor plans. In this case too, the measurement data is transferred directly to the app, and lengths and heights of walls are adapted automatically in the digital drawing according to the values measured. Both applications enable users to optimize their work flows and increase their productivity.

The GLM 50 C Professional laser measure is available at specialist retail outlets at the recommended retail price of 149 euros plus VAT. It comes complete with two AAA batteries. The GLM measurement&document app and the GLM floor plan app are available free of charge in the Apple Store and at Google Play.
