press release

Stuttgart/Riva (Italy) – With lakes, mountains and Italian hospitality, Riva del Garda on Lake Garda offers all that the mountain biker’s heart desires. That is why the MTB scene is back in the northern Italian town again from 1 to 3 May 2015 for the bikeFESTIVAL – to face sporting challenges against a breathtaking backdrop and learn more about the latest biking trends. This time, eMountain bikers will really get their money’s worth. As an event co-sponsor, Bosch eBike Systems is providing numerous activities for power-assisted mountain biking, ranging from an eMTB marathon to guided eBike tours and an on-site test track.

eMTB marathon highlight
A special feature of this year’s bikeFESTIVAL is the eMTB-Marathon – epowered by Bosch, to be held on the second day of the festival. On the 28.83 km Ronda Facile entry-level course, competitors will ride eBikes with power assistance up to speeds of 25 km/h around Riva del Garda and to the neighbouring village of Ceniga and back, covering an altitude difference of more than 700 metres in the process. And the tailwind of electric power will be an entirely new experience.

Testing: Climbing uphill trails with an electric tailwind
Throughout the weekend Bosch eBike Systems and Flyer are offering guided eBike tours in cooperation with tour experts Fahrtwind and Carpentari. Anyone interested can also borrow an eMTB from Expo exhibitors, enjoy the tailwind on a test track over a distance of between 8 and 10 km, and put their cycling skills to the test. The track was specially designed for eMTBs, so visitors will be able to try out for themselves how an uphill trail feels with an extra power boost.

If after biking you feel like learning more about eBike technology and accessories you are cordially welcome to visit the Bosch eBike Systems stand at the Expo. The on-site team will be happy to demonstrate the many uses to which the all-in-one Nyon on-board computer can be put. The versatile unit serves, amongst other things, as a navigation device and evaluates fitness data. With its robust, waterproof casing, Nyon can also be used off-road on fast-paced eMTB trips.
