press release

Bosch is the first manufacturer to offer professional tradespeople 60-millimeter-long bi-metal holesaws for drilling in wood, drywall and metal. The “Progressor for Wood and Metal” models are 50 percent longer than the standard holesaws on the market and enable deep holes to be drilled in one step, for example to feed ductwork and water pipes through wooden stud walls. This eliminates the hassle of having to remove the first core and position the holesaw back in the hole, which saves the tradesperson valuable work time. Thanks to the tried-and-tested Power Change Adapter, which was launched onto the market back in 2002 and is still unique in the industry, this applies not only to the drilling process itself, but also to the changing of the holesaw and pilot drill bit because they can be connected and released with a click, which requires no additional tools and works according to the same principle as a keyless drill chuck. The Power Change Adapter is available with hex or SDS-plus shank and therefore fits all conventional drills. It covers drilling diameters of 14 to 210 millimeters.

The 60-millimeter-long holesaws have a progressive tooth geometry, hence the name “Progressor for Wood and Metal”. Its tooth spacing increases in sections of six teeth each. This ensures a fast work rate and accelerated chip clearance. Eight percent of their bi-metal is a cobalt alloy, which makes the holesaws exceptionally tough and durable.

Functional through to the storage: Award-winning case sets
The range comprises 20 holesaws with diameters of 20 to 127 millimeters, including the standard dimensions of 25, 51, 68 and 83 for cables, pipes, sockets and junction boxes. The holesaws are available individually or in a set. The cases feature a unique design. Unlike previous solutions on the market, they can be individually stocked and secure the holesaws reliably in the case. This is made possible by their integrated hex shank, which is the same size on all holesaws. The shanks are mounted in recesses in the case inlay, which enables versatile storage of the holesaws in the case. Moreover, the case inlay is secured by a spring mechanism. Opening the lid unlocks the products, while closing it locks them again. The holesaws are therefore securely fixed during transport. The transparent lid provides a good view of the contents at all times. This high functionality and the modular design have convinced an independent jury of experts: the case sets won the German Packaging Award in 2014, which is the most prestigious packaging award in Europe and is under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
