press release

Bosch is launching two easy-to-operate professional tools for measuring and documenting surface temperatures: the GTC 230 C Professional thermo camera provides a quick overview and the GIS 1000 C Professional thermo detector provides the details. With the thermo camera, for example, professional tradespeople can use thermal imaging to quickly and easily track down weak spots in heating and electrical installations. The thermo detector also assesses the surface temperature in relation to the room temperature and humidity to reveal thermal bridges and mold risk areas in seconds. New to both tools in this class is the possibility to document the measuring results quickly and easily. The GTC 230 C Professional thermo camera can do so not only by photo, but now also by video. Thanks to its integrated camera, the GIS 1000 C Professional thermo detector can do so either directly in the tool by photo or using the matching app. This makes it easy for professional tradespeople to assign and analyze the measuring data.

GTC 230 C Professional: Find weak spots using thermal imaging
The GTC 230 C Professional thermo camera provides a quick overview of weak spots and enables easy documentation of temperature measurements. Heating installers can use it, for example, to check whether radiators warm up consistently or to find their supply pipes. Electricians can quickly and easily detect overheated electrical outlets and fuses. The GTC 230 C Professional excels compared to comparable competitor models due to its 3.5-inch color display with editing function via touchscreen and can capture not only photos, but also videos with sound. In the stored thermal images with a resolution of 80 x 60, each of the 4800 pixels is a measuring spot. You can use your fingertip to view the temperature of any of the spots. The tool also automatically marks the coldest and warmest pixel. This makes it possible to find, for example, leaks in water pipes.

A 33 x 25 degree field of view provides a large image detail and therefore maximum information per image. Operating the tool via the screen and the four buttons is self-explanatory. At the press of a button, for example, you can activate the picture-in-picture function. This displays the thermal image within the context of the original image, which makes it easier to assign measurements. The micro SD card or micro USB port can then be used to load the acquired data onto a PC, where it can be processed further. The “C” in the product name stands for this Connectivity.

GIS 1000 C Professional: Precise measurements with interpretation assistance
Anyone wanting to take detailed temperature measurements and then document and send them instantly can make use of the GIS 1000 C Professional thermo detector. Measuring data is documented by photos taken with the integrated camera, and can be transferred via Bluetooth interface in an app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets for processing. The tool has an integrated LED light, so that you also get good results in difficult lighting conditions. Individual measuring spots can be defined on a photo taken from the GIS measure&document app, and the measuring data can be transferred to the thermo detector. The photos can have notes added to them, and can be stored and sent by e-mail, for example to consult with the client or the boss. This eliminates the risk of errors resulting from manual transfer. All the data of a project can be filed and managed in purpose-created folders. This ensures that the user keeps track of his projects, even when he has many different jobs. Another method of data transfer is using a micro USB cable, for example to enable use of the data on a PC. The tool also has a connection for standard K-type sensors.

The GIS 1000 C Professional can be used to quickly and easily track down thermal bridges and mold risk areas. The thermo detector is equipped with a precise, external sensor for measuring room temperature and relative humidity. The tool measures room temperature, surface temperature and humidity according to the selected mode, assesses these values in relation to each other, and is the only thermo detector in its class to help professional tradespeople interpret the data, using a color scale to show the acquired temperature range and temperature deviations and therefore the dew points or thermal bridges. Thanks to its spot measurement, it also achieves very accurate results which are easy to read on the 2.8-inch color display. The tool is operated by means of a straightforward menu navigation.

Dual power supply using rechargeable battery or non-rechargeable batteries
Bosch offers dual power supply for both tools. They can be powered either by a replaceable 10.8 volt rechargeable battery from the professional range or by four AA alkaline batteries together with the AA1 Professional battery adapter. The rechargeable battery is compatible with all 10.8 volt professional tools from Bosch.

The GIS 1000 C Professional thermo detector is available at specialist retail outlets from autumn 2015 onwards for 399 euros. It is supplied in the L-Boxx with 10.8 volt rechargeable battery with 1.5 Ah, a quick charger and a micro USB cable. The matching GIS measure&document app is available for free in the Google Play Store and in the Apple App Store. Accessories such as a protective case and the AA1 Professional battery adapter are available in the Bosch accessory range. The GTC 230 C Professional thermo camera will follow in 2016. It is supplied in the L-Boxx including 10.8 volt rechargeable battery with 1.5 Ah, a quick charger, a micro SD card with four gigabytes, and a micro USB cable for a price of 999 euros. The editing software is also included.

All prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT.
