press release

For anyone who does not want to be without quality sound when doing DIY or other leisure activities, there is now the compact and versatile PRA MultiPower Radio from Bosch. Two integrated speakers with 3.5 watts each, 20 volume settings and an equalizer function for bass and treble adjustment ensure optimum acoustics. The memory offers space for ten station presets in the FM range and ten in the AM range. Do-it-yourselfers can therefore instantly switch on their favorite station or quickly switch from one station to another. Moreover, it is possible to connect external devices such as MP3 players via aux-in port. The PRA MultiPower Radio is also the first radio for do-it-yourselfers that can establish a wireless connection to cellphones and play the music stored on them thanks to its Bluetooth interface. To do so, you can either insert the phone into the outer compartment on the display, where it will be quickly within reach, or you can place it in the inner compartment of the radio. With its size of 168 x 88 x 9.4 millimeters, this compartment offers space and protection for all conventional smartphone models.

Cordless operation in three voltage classes makes this radio mobile
The PRA MultiPower Radio is very compact and robust. Its basic shape is triangular, with a handle on each of the tool’s edges. This makes it easier to transport. Two of these handles also serve as feet and provide a secure standing position on uneven surfaces too. The PRA MultiPower Radio can be powered either by means of a power cord or by means of a battery. With this Bosch is clearly focusing on convenient mobile use because the PRA MultiPower Radio can be powered by all changeable batteries in the DIY range, whether with 10.8, 14.4 or 18 volts. Do-it-yourselfers can therefore operate the radio with the battery they do not currently need for their work. At medium volume, even the small 10.8 volt battery with 1.3 Ah enables you to either listen to the radio for three hours or play music from external devices via Bluetooth or aux-in port for 1.5 hours. The runtime is dependent on the operating mode used and increases with higher voltage classes. For example, the radio runs for over ten hours with an 18 volt battery with 1.5 Ah and plays at least three hours of music from external devices.

Whether indoor or outdoor, music from the radio or from external devices: the PRA MultiPower Radio from Bosch is convenient to use and versatile. The controls on the front of the radio are easy to handle. The digital display shows the time, radio frequency, connection to external players via aux-in port or Bluetooth, and also the battery level. The robust housing with three handles on the tool’s edges protects the display, the controls and the flexible antenna from damage.

The PRA MultiPower Radio will be available at retail outlets from July 2015 onwards at the recommended retail price of 129.99 euros including VAT. It is supplied in a carton with power cord and aux-in cable and two 1.5 V AAA batteries for the display.
