press release

Skil offers a cost-effective compact leveling device for DIYers wanting to align pictures, wallpaper, tiles, shelves or banisters quickly and precisely. With a size of 7.5 x 6.3 x 8.3 centimeters and a weight of just 300 grams, the LL0511 line laser is extremely handy and also very powerful. With a leveling accuracy of 0.5 millimeters per meter and a precise, easy-to-see line, it allows a working distance of up to 10 meters. DIYers can therefore project horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines exactly against a wall because the LL0511 features two operating modes for this purpose, i.e. an automatic leveling function and a tilt function.

Horizontal, vertical, diagonal: precise lines at the push of a button.
In order to obtain precise horizontal and vertical lines, Skil has equipped the LL0511 with an automatic leveling function. This function automatically compensates for unevennesses of up to 4 degrees. If DIYers use the tilt function, a switch blocks the pendulum inside the tool and the line laser can be tilted to the right or left parallel to the projection surface. Pictures, for example, can therefore be easily aligned along a staircase. The line laser is quickly ready for use: when the button is pressed for the first time, the device turnes on and also activates the laser cross-hair with an exact 90 degree angle. If the button is pressed again a few times, the LL0511 first projects a horizontal line and then a vertical line. The device switches off when the button is pressed for the fourth time. The particular operating mode automatic leveling function or tilt function is selected via a slide switch and displayed on top of the device by a green or a red LED.

High functionality thanks to the flexible clamp
Thanks to its 1/4" thread, the Skil LL0511 line laser can be attached to a flexible clamp or any commercially available tripod, and can be individually aligned. The clamp permits an adjustable height of 6 to 10 centimeters and can be fixed wherever the device is required. The line laser can therefore be quickly and easily attached to chair backs, stepladders, cupboard doors, shelves or other objects with a minimum thickness of 1 centimeter and a maximum thickness of 6 centimeters.

The Skil LL0511 line laser will be available from October 2014 onwards at the recommended retail price of 49.99 including VAT. The scope of delivery includes the clamp and two 1.5 V AA batteries.
