press release

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – At 12.15 on 15 June 2014 the starting signal will sound in Gomaringen (Stockach) for the Second Bosch eBike Race. Over a distance of about 60 kilometres eBikers of both sexes and all ages are competing on all kinds of pedelecs. The race is open only for eBikes with a power-assisted speed of up to 25 km/h. Team spirit is the name of the game and entrants form three-member teams. Anyone can enter who has the time, likes the idea and feels fit enough for an eBike outing in a racing atmosphere.

To make a success of an exacting route that covers a difference in altitude of more than 1,000 metres, eBikers cannot rely only on their battery-powered tail wind. The front runners will need stamina, a sense of tactics and to be strong at sprinting, and to make the Second Bosch eBike Race even more interesting additional mountain classifications in the final section are a part of the race, so attempts to break clear of the field and sprints will ensure an extra helping of excitement. If a competitor needs new energy there will be snacks and drinks in the catering area. A change of battery is also permitted.

A new feature of the Second Bosch eBike Race is that it will form part of the LBS Cup series, the highest level of cycle racing in Baden-Württemberg. From juniors via the elite to seniors, all age groups will be competing – and providing attractive racing.

Around 50 entries to the Bosch eBike Race are anticipated. eBikers can register online until 8 June at rad-net.de, where they will also find further information about the race. Late entries are permitted until half an hour before the start.

Race visitors will be able to find out more in a roadside eBike exhibition about the benefits of pedelecs and to experience for themselves the special feeling that riding an eBike gives you.
