press release

Stuttgart/Reutlingen, Germany – Well-prepared Bosch eBike dealers are getting off to a good start in the new season. On 27 February, Bosch eBike Systems brought this year's training tour to a successful conclusion in Verona, Italy. In all, the European market leader in eBike drive systems trained around 7,500 participants in nine countries between October 2013 and February 2014 for the new sales and service year, setting a new record in the process.

Most extensive training tour of all times
eBikes are very much in demand both in European core markets and further afield. To familiarise dealers with all the important details and innovations in drive systems Bosch eBike Systems provides comprehensive annual training sessions.
In preparation for the new seasons six Bosch specialists trained 7,500 participants all over Europe – a significant increase in numbers on the previous year and more than ever before. Starting in Germany, the Bosch experts went on tour in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK. “To sell high-quality pedelecs you must offer your customers correspondingly good service. That is the only way to ensure that eBikers enjoy their eBike for as long as possible and that the dealer retains customer loyalty in the long term,” says Ulrich Lippmann, Head of Service at Bosch eBike Systems.

Know-how at first hand
Dealers were taught everything that is worth knowing about the new Active Line and Performance Line products with the new PowerPack 300 and 400 batteries and the Intuvia on-board computer with its optimised range of functions. “Our training courses teach the latest know-how about eBike technology and help participants to understand the product lines better. Our experts also offer valuable advice about, for example, dealing with batteries or diagnosis,” Lippmann added.

Additional advisers boost dealers' expertise
Dealers must have good sales skills but also be able to support and advise customers competently on product-specific issues and any difficulties that may arise. To add continuous extra depth to dealers' expertise the Bosch eBike Systems team was enlarged on 1 February 2014 with the appointment of an additional eBike expert for Italy. From 1 April 2014 another Bosch drive systems expert will cover selected areas in southern Germany and parts of Austria.
