press release

Bosch is adding two devices to its dust extraction system for professional tools: GDE 16 Cyl Professional for Bosch impact drills and GDE hex Professional for breakers and the GSH 11 VC Professional SDS-max demolition hammer. Bosch will therefore in future be offering a complete range of dust extraction systems for drilling and chiseling applications.

As with the systems that are already available, the GDE 16 Cyl Professional and GDE hex Professional feature easy handling, low weight on the machine and a robust design. They enable drilling and chiseling applications to be done virtually dust-free because drilling debris and dust are extracted directly where they originate. This results in work which is healthier, kinder to tools and more efficient – aspects which are increasingly important for tradespeople, safety engineers and associations.

GDE 16 Cyl Professional for low dust levels when drilling
The GDE 16 Cyl Professional dust extraction system is designed for Bosch impact drills. It covers drilling diameters of 4 to 16 millimeters as well as holesaws and core cutters of up to 82 millimeters. The “Cyl” stands for the cylindrical toolholder in the tools, which accepts standard cylindrical drill bits – also called Cyl in the Bosch range. This robust dust extraction system with auxiliary handle and aluminum telescopic guide can be adapted to different drill bit lengths using a quick-clamping lever. The maximum drilling depth per work step is 120 millimeters. The required drilling depth is conveniently set using the integrated depth stop. The special rubber at the application point of the dust extraction system does not leave any marks even on delicate surfaces. The dust extraction system can be connected to all conventional dust extractors. The extractor connection is movable to ensure that the hose does not get in the way during work. Moreover, the connection and therefore the tool's center of gravity are close to the user's body to enable the professional tradesperson to work more precisely and effortlessly. The low weight of about 500 grams also contributes to this.

GDE hex Professional for low dust levels when chiseling
The GDE hex Professional dust extraction system fits all breakers in the Bosch range and the GSH 11 VC Professional SDS-max demolition hammer. The dust extraction system is fitted to the tool's hammer tube using a quick-action clamp and can be adapted to different work positions and tools. It consists of a plunger that surrounds the chisel and a suction tube connected to this, which is fixed to the quick-action clamp. If the accessory has to be changed, the slotted plunger can be quickly removed and then reattached. Nothing has to be threaded in or out from below. In this way, the dust extraction system can also be easily attached and detached when using wide chisels such as spade chisels, without having to remove the chisel. In addition to making work healthier for users, an especially important factor for breakers is making work kinder to the tools: the dust extraction prevents dust from collecting in the ventilation, motor or tool-holder of the hammer. This increases the lifetime of the tool and of the chisel.

Compatible with the “Click & Clean System”
All of the dust extraction systems are compatible with the Bosch “Click & Clean System”. It comprises tools, wet/dry dust extractors, dust extractor accessories and L-Boxxes, which are precisely harmonized with each other and which combine to help make work healthier, kinder to your tools, faster, more efficient and more precise.

The GDE 16 Cyl Professional dust extraction system is available now at specialist retail outlets, while the GDE hex Professional dust extraction system will be available from September 2014 onwards:
