Skil is now launching another Fox model onto the market: the Fox 6-in-1 multi-sander. It offers do-it-yourselfers even more flexibility when sanding. As with its tried-and-tested namesake, this tool is a random orbit sander, orbital sander and delta sander in one and additionally offers three new attachments: a louver sanding attachment, a so-called sanding finger and an attachment with a bendable fabric which flexibly adapts to the surface to enable users to machine-sand curved shapes such as handrails, balusters and table legs. This makes the 6-in-1 Fox the most versatile sander from Skil.

Robust tool with functional features
The multi-sander is supplied with three base plates: a round base plate with 125 millimeter diameter for use as a random orbit sander, an iron-shaped base plate which can be turned 180 degrees for use as a delta and orbital sander, and a base plate which one of the three attachments is screwed on to depending on the application. As with a gear wheel, the teeth on the surface of the attachment mesh into the grid embedded in the base plate. This has two major advantages: first of all, the attachments can be fixed in five different positions to adapt them to each working position. Secondly, it produces an especially robust, force-fitted connection. This prevents wear, increases the lifetime of attachment and tool, and allows especially powerful, smooth sanding.

The Fox is equipped with a 250 watt motor and therefore offers high performance for fast work progress. Two speeds can be set: the lower speed is used for applications on small surfaces that require careful control during material removal, whereas the higher speed is used for working on large surfaces. The Fox is therefore easy to operate, even for do-it-yourselfers who have little experience of using sanders. This is also facilitated by the brake function when the tool is used as a random orbit sander: it eliminates damage to the surface which can occur when the sanding pad is applied to the surface or lifted off it. Further features of the multi-sander include a dust box and an integrated adapter which can be used to also connect a vacuum cleaner directly if required.

The Fox 6-in-1 multi-sander will be available from September 2014 on¬wards at the recommended retail price of 99.99 euros including VAT. It is supplied in a canvas carrying bag including dust box, three base plates, six sheets of sanding paper with different grits for random orbit and orbital sanders, and a louver sanding attachment, flexible attachment and sanding finger, each with three sheets of sanding paper.
