With over 1.8 million downloads in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the Bosch Toolbox App is one of the most successful applications for tradespeople worldwide. In constant dialog with professionals, Bosch developed the app in accordance with the target group's requirements and has continuously expanded it, adding features such as the “Building documentation” function which has been introduced this year. Tradespeople can use this application to quickly and completely document their current project using their smartphone. Since August of this year, the app has also been available on the iPad. Bosch is therefore responding to the trend of tradespeople using tablets in their day-to-day work and is offering another component which is tailored to the target group.

Better documentation, faster information
The building documentation of the Bosch Toolbox App enables projects, the current construction progress or regular reports to be documented in detail by easily integrating comments, photos, videos, measurements and audio memos. The reports are provided in conventional PDF and text formats such as .txt. The app provides major advantages for skilled trade companies because the information is available anytime and anywhere by means of digital data. This enables project data to be captured faster and information to be exchanged, saving precious time for work colleagues, managers and clients alike. In addition to the building documentation and the measurement camera, the app's functions also include a unit converter, a flashlight and the mobile catalog for professional power tools from Bosch. The dealer locator by means of GPS and a mobile couponing program, which gives tradespeople the opportunity to benefit from exclusive offers every month, complete the added value of the Bosch Toolbox App.

Expert juries honor innovation and added value for users
Users rate the app in IOS and Android stores with an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Now expert juries have also honored the application for its innovation and its added value for users: the app was awarded bronze by a 23-member jury in the “Mobile” category of “DMMA OnlineStar 2013”, therefore beating 48 other entrants in this category. Decisive factors for receiving the award were the creativity, originality and innovation of the app. The award was created by the German Federal Association of Digital Commerce (Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW) e. V.) and the MFG Innovation Agency for ICT and Media Baden-Württemberg. This was the 17th time that the award has been held to honor digital projects and campaigns from Germany, Austria and Switzerland in nine categories.

The app also won the “Best of Mobile Award“. Bosch beat four other finalists in the “Brand Communication” category to win this award. The jury of 22 experts – media and marketing specialists as well as technology and telecommunications experts – especially praised the way in which many practical applications, such as measurement camera, building documentation, unit converter and product catalog, are pooled together in one app. The “Best of Mobile Award” honors successful solutions in mobile business. There were 183 entrants this year, with the award going to apps, services, websites and campaigns that excel above all due to the added value they provide to users.

The Bosch Toolbox App with building documentation is available for free in the Google Play Store and in the Apple App Store for smartphones with Android and IOS operating systems and for iPads.
