press release

Bosch has developed the KTS 525 control unit diagnostics device and Esitronic light software package for service applications that do not require in-depth diagnostic work. The device offers smaller workshops cost-effective, entry-level control unit diagnostics, opening up the market for service and maintenance work on modern vehicles. The KTS 525 with Esitronic light is also an excellent mobile solution for body work companies and paint shops. It is a practical and easy-to-use tool at service receptions and ideal as a secondary or back-up device in service workshops.

The new KTS 525 allows mechanics to swiftly and safely perform control unit diagnostics work on virtually all current and future vehicles, just like the tried-and-tested devices in the Bosch KTS 5xx series. The additional measuring technology featured in the other models in the series has deliberately been omitted from the new KTS 525 in order to provide a cost-effective, entry-level model for diagnostics. The device is supplied with a range of equipment, including a Bluetooth adapter to provide long-range wireless data transmission. Its accessories include Easy Connect adapters, which automatically detect the vehicle-specific connection and ensure that the connection process is simple, fast and secure.

Once the KTS 525 is connected, it provides a list of all control units present in the vehicle. Error codes can be read out and deleted and the user can call up actual values. The device also provides all of the functions required for service tasks. If the workshop requires a more in-depth control unit diagnostics system at a later date, the light version can be upgraded to full Esitronic 2.0 functionality at any time.

Control unit data for all common vehicle makes
The KTS 525 is controlled by the Esitronic light software package, which has been created based on the Bosch Esitronic 2.0 workshop software. As the diagnostic scope of the light version is reduced, subscribing to this option costs much less than subscribing to the full version of Esitronic. Esitronic light is compatible with the systems of over 180 global vehicle makes and provides workshop mechanics with key information for service and maintenance work.
