press release

With the GLL 3-50 Professional multi line laser, Bosch is offering professional tradespeople an easy-to-operate universal instrument for all leveling and transfer tasks. It simultaneously projects up to three laser lines – a laser cross both forwards and upwards and a vertical line to the right – and a plumb point downwards. Its special feature is the continuously adjustable turning base which is included in the scope of delivery. This makes it possible to conveniently align the GLL 3-50 Professional in order to measure and transfer heights, right angles and plumb points quickly, easily and precisely. This enables trades such as drywallers or carpenters to partition rooms faster, for example, and to precisely position wood and profile stud walls.

Easy, self-explanatory operation
The GLL 3-50 Professional is self-explanatory to operate. Aside from the on/off switch, there are only two buttons: one for switching the individual laser lines and the laser point on and off, and one for switching between continuous mode and pulse mode. Pulse mode has to be selected when working with a receiver. The laser lines are clearly visible up to ten meters. The working range is 50 meters with a receiver.

Once the instrument has been switched on, it levels itself in less than four seconds. If automatic leveling is not possible, for example because the surface supporting the measuring instrument deviates from the horizontal by more than four degrees, the multi line laser will use a flashing light to warn you. This “Out-of-level” function ensures error-free alignment. The typical leveling accuracy is 0.3 millimeters per meter. When the instrument is switched off, the pendulum is locked and therefore protected during transport.

High precision, flexibility and versatility due to turning base
The GLL 3-50 Professional slides into the turning base in one move. The turning base consists of a continuously adjustable rotary plate resting on three telescopic legs. If, for example, you want to transfer a plumb point on the floor, the legs can be pulled out by several centimeters to provide comfortable access to the marking point. Horizontally the attached instrument can be put in any position you want using the rotary plate with fine adjustment. Furthermore, threads for 1/4" camera tripods and 5/8" building tripods are integrated into the base of the GLL 3-50 Professional. This gives professional tradespeople maximum flexibility when working with the multi line laser.

The instrument is ergonomically shaped, robust, and dust and splash protected to IP54. It weighs only 900 grams including turning base and is very compact with its dimensions of approximately 15 x 8 x 12 centimeters. The turning base has a diameter of about 20 centimeters and is about four centimeters high, or about eight centimeters high when the telescopic legs are pulled out.

The GLL 3-50 Professional will be available at specialist retail outlets from October 2013 onwards in the following versions:
  • in the L-Boxx for 289 euros,
  • in the L-Boxx with BM 1 Professional universal mount for 309 euros,
  • in the L-Boxx with BM 1 Professional universal mount and LR 2 Professional laser receiver for 409 euros.
It comes complete with turning base, laser target and four 1.5 V LR6 AA batteries. All prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT. Further accessories such as laser viewing glasses, telescopic pole or tripod are available in the Bosch range of accessories.
