press release

The new generation of Rotak lawnmowers by Bosch provides an even cleaner and more consistent cut thanks to its “Powerdrive+ system” or “Powerdrive LI+ system”. It ensures that the motor, blade and airflow, which reliably feeds the cut grass into the collection box, are precisely coordinated. The new Rotak lawnmowers 37, 40 and 43, and 37 LI and 43 LI therefore offer the best debris collection in their class: they reliably collect up to 99 percent of the cut blades of grass. A clean and precise cut is made possible by the hardened and sharpened steel blades. The result is a neat lawn with a particularly even cut.

The blades in the Rotak 40, Rotak 43 and Rotak 43 LI models also feature “LeafCollect”, which is a specially developed side profile to pick up and shred leaves lying on the lawn. The airflow then reliably feeds them into the collection box along with the cut grass.

A stylish solution for all lawns
The new Rotak generation has a modern design. Depending on the size of the lawn and its condition, customers can choose between different cutting widths with corresponding collection box capacity, and between corded and cordless configurations. The corded tools offer 1400, 1700 and 1800 watts and a gearing feature which converts the high speed of the motor into high torque at the blade. As a result, all corded Rotak mowers Rotak 37, Rotak 40 and Rotak 43 are exceptionally powerful. Moreover, at 11.2, 12.6 and 12.7 kilograms respectively they are among the lightest corded mowers in their class.

Powerful cordless mowers with EC motor and 4.0 Ah capacity
The Rotak 37 LI and Rotak 43 LI cordless mowers have a brushless EC motor, which is completely maintenance-free and exceptionally efficient: its degree of efficiency is up to 30 percent higher than that of conventional DC motors. EC technology also allows for a very compact and lightweight design: they weigh only 13.2 and 13.9 kilograms respectively, which puts them among the lightest cordless mowers available on the market. Their low weight makes them comfortable to handle and easy to transport. Another advantage is the longer runtime of the batteries: for the first time, the Rotak 37 LI and Rotak 43 LI cordless mowers are equipped with a 4.0 Ah battery. This means that up to 50 percent more lawned area can be cut when compared to the previous 2.6 Ah battery version. Furthermore, the batteries are no longer inserted from above, but are easily inserted from the front. This makes it quicker and easier to change.

Tried-and-tested product features for a high level of comfort
All of the new mowers are equipped with the tried-and-tested “Ergoflex System” with multi-position handle which has been certified by Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR) e.V. (Campaign for Healthier Backs). It relieves strain on muscles, tendons and joints, reduces customer fatigue and ensures a relaxed lawnmowing. All mowers still feature their unique grass-combs. They guide the blades of grass directly to the mower’s blade, therefore ensuring a clean cut right up to the edges of walls or flowerbeds. There is no need to go over the edges again with a grass trimmer or a grass shear.

The tools’ features are completed by a carrying handle which makes the mowers comfortable to transport, and “QuickClick” which enables the mower’s handles to be fitted to the housing after purchase without the need for additional tools: one click is all it takes and the mowers, which are supplied with mounted wheels, are immediately ready to use. The Rotak 40, Rotak 43 and Rotak 43 LI models also feature soft treat rubber overmoulded tyres which provide for a smooth driving experience.

The new Rotak lawnmowers will be available at retail outlets from January 2014 onwards. Accessories such as blades and batteries are available in the Bosch range of accessories.
