press release

The ART 23-18 LI and ART 26-18 LI grass trimmers from Bosch stand for powerful, clean trimming without interruptions. They work with a completely new cutting system: their “Durablade” is made of a nylon composite. It is exceptionally sturdy and, at the same time, also very flexible. It is clicked into the specially developed base plate without the need for additional tools, and it automatically retracts as soon as it hits a hard object such as a stone. Due to the new cutting system, the “Durablade” lasts for up to twelve times longer than previous blades. Moreover, it makes exceptionally clean cuts in the grass to ensure fast results with high cut quality.

Powerful performance until the end
Both trimmers are operated with a powerful 18 volt lithium-ion battery with 1.5 Ah. An electronic control system ensures that the trimmers maintain their full speed until the battery is empty. There is no gradual drop in performance. Due to this battery management system, trimming is very efficient and is often completed with a single battery charge. The ART 23-18 LI and ART 26-18 LI are also very lightweight due to lithiumion technology: both tools weigh only 2.5 kilograms, are easy to transport and can be used anywhere in the garden.

Recommended by independent experts
Great ease of use is ensured not only by the low weight and good balance of the tools, but also by their telescopic height adjustment which is operated via a sliding switch. The tilt of the second handle and the position of the trimmer head can also be conveniently adjusted: the second handle by adjusting a knob, the trimmer head by pressing a button. For precise edging, you simply turn the head 90 degrees and start trimming. These tool features make the ART 23-18 LI and ART 26-18 LI trimmers exceptionally ergonomic, which has won them the seal of approval from Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR) e.V. (Campaign for Healthier Backs): the Bosch trimmers are the first grass trimmers to be certified in this way and recommended as back-friendly.

Great flexibility due to interchangeable battery
Bosch is expanding its existing “Power4All” 18 volt cordless system with the ART 23-18 LI and ART 26-18 LI trimmers. This means flexibility for the user: the 18 volt lithium-ion battery can be used in different garden and DIY tools from Bosch within this voltage class, including hedgecutter, leaf blower, combi drill and jigsaw.

The ART 23-18 LI and ART 26-18 LI trimmers will be available for 119.99 euros and 139.99 euros respectively at retail outlets from February 2014 onwards. The scope of delivery includes battery and charger. The ART 26-18 LI trimmer is also available without a battery and charger for 89.99 euros. All prices are recommended retail prices including VAT. Accessories such as replacement blades and batteries are available in the Bosch range of accessories.
