press release

Bosch presents "Precision for Fiber Insulation", a saw blade system that will, in future, make it possible for professionals to cut stone wool and glass wool accurately and comfortably using the saber saw. Until now, these materials have, almost without exception, been cut using manually-operated knives. By launching this product, Bosch is responding to the changing demands on insulating trades such as roofing contractors, facade builders and drywall construction. To meet today's thermal protection regulations and low-energy standards, professionals have to use increasingly thick and dense insulating materials. The thicker and more dense the material, the more tiring is the cutting operation for the professional and the less accurate are the cuts.

High precision thanks to special saw blade geometry
Bosch solves this problem with the "Precision for Fiber Insulation" saw blades, which have been specially designed for easy and precise working with a saber saw. They have a serrated cutting edge which is symmetrically ground on both sides, and the blades are thicker and wider. As a result, the blades are highly stable and they follow the desired cutting direction, thereby providing accurate angular cuts without deflection. In addition to this, the tip of the blade is ground. This ensures accurate plunge cuts, an advantage when making cutouts.

Three blade types: The right saw blade for every application
Saw blade S 2013 AWP is extra wide and long, and therefore designed for cutting thick and dense fiber insulation materials. Blades S 1113 AWP and S 1213 AWP are narrower and, thanks to their compact design, ideal for cutting accurate curves, e.g. to fit the insulation material to round objects such as pipes. This allows the professional to choose the saw blade that is ideally suited to the thickness and density of the material, and to fit the insulation material quickly and easily.

The "Precision for Fiber Insulation" saw blades fit into all standard types of saber saw thanks to their S-shank. Bosch currently offers two main operated tools and the GSA 1100 E Professional and the GSA 1300 PCE Professional and as well as two cordless tools: the high-performance GSA 36 V-LI Professional and the GSA 10,8 V-LI Professional, an extra small and compact saber saw for professionals.

The following saber saw blades for fiber insulation materials are available at specialist retail outlets from August 2013 onwards:
  • the "Precision for Fiber Insulation" saw blade S 1113 AWP for 26.19 euros per pack of two,
  • the "Precision for Fiber Insulation" saw blade S 1213 AWP for 36.90 euros per pack of two,
  • the "Precision for Fiber Insulation" saw blade S 2013 AWP for 26.19 euros each.
All prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT.
