Leinfelden – After extensive reconstruction and expansion work, the new training center has been opened at the headquarters of Bosch Power Tools in Leinfelden near to Stuttgart. Training courses and events mainly for retailers and their sales staff are now being held there on premises which are modern, energy-optimized and larger than before. Bosch has also extensively modernized the staff restaurant at the location. Investments totaling 10.6 million euros are a clear commitment by Bosch Power Tools to Germany as a location.

Increasing product diversity and rising attendances
Following a construction time of 13 months, the resulting indoor and outdoor area of the training center measures 3,000 square meters, making it nearly fifty percent larger than before. The product range of Bosch Power Tools has grown continually in recent years, which meant that the capacities of the old center's premises were increasingly being stretched to the limit. Attendances have also increased continually since the training activities began: from an average of 1,000 per year to approximately 3,000 participants today. Henning von Boxberg, president of Bosch Power Tools, said: “Here in Leinfelden we will train domestic and foreign retailers even more intensively than before because competent knowledge of the products is a crucial prerequisite for success when advising customers and selling the products.” In addition to the new facilities for training courses, two spacious auditoria have been added to the building, which offer sufficient room for conferences and events with several hundred participants. There is a tradition of training at the headquarters of Bosch Power Tools in Leinfelden: experienced trainers have been conveying information about innovations, technology, function and the correct use of power tools, measuring tools, accessories and garden tools since 1985.

Modern and attractive staff restaurant for the location
The new staff restaurant of the Leinfelden location is also situated in the building of the training center. The former canteen has been extensively modernized and expanded. It now offers about a third more seats. The staff restaurant contributes to creating an attractive work environment with its new, bright and friendly dining area. This expansion was necessary because the number of associates in Leinfelden has risen in the past ten years from about 1,300 in 2003 to 1,800 associates today.

The Leinfelden location is the headquarters of the Bosch Power Tools division. It is home to development, sales and administration, as well as part of production. Power tools for professionals, especially large Bosch hammers and angle grinders, are manufactured in Leinfelden.

The Power Tools Division of the Bosch Group is one of the world’s leading providers for power tools, power tool accessories and measuring tools.
