Stuttgart/Reutlingen, Germany – Tübingen's mayor Boris Palmer needs to get through traffic in his city in a quick and environmentally friendly manner. As of yesterday (27 May), the Green Party politician now uses his new official vehicle, an eBike equipped with a Bosch drive system, on the job. The integrated Speed drive unit allows Mayor Palmer to get to his next appointment at up to 45 kilometres per hour without breaking a sweat. The eBike uses proven technology from the mayor's own district, since Bosch eBike Systems, Europe's market leader, is based in Reutlingen, about 15 kilometres from Tübingen. Claudia Wasko, Head of Sales and Services at Bosch eBike Systems, came to the university city on the Neckar for the mayor's first test ride on his official eBike. She didn't need to explain much to Boris Palmer, since he has years of experience with eBikes and is a passionate cyclist.
