press release

Bosch is expanding its “Power4All” cordless system. In addition to the tried-and-tested 18 volt family for DIY and garden tools such as drill/driver, multi-sander and leaf blower, there will also be a 10.8 volt family in future. Then it will be possible to operate tools such as a combi drill, multifunction tool and hedgecutters with 10.8 volts using only one inter-changeable battery. This enables do-it-yourselfers to do without batteries and chargers whilst saving money at the same time. Moreover, the new lithium-ion batteries with 1.5 Ah have a higher capacity than the predecessors with 1.3 Ah. You can therefore work for 15 percent longer with one battery charge. The PST 10,8 LI multi saw, the Uneo – now with 10.8 instead of 14.4 volts – and the PLI 10,8 LI torch will be added to the 10.8 volt “Power4All” family from July 2013 onwards.

High flexibility when purchasing and using products
Bosch offers do-it-yourselfers and hobby gardeners a high level of flexibility with the 10.8 volt “Power4All” system: existing 1.3 Ah batteries can continue to be used. They are compatible with all tools in the 10.8 volt family. Moreover, every do-it-yourselfer can decide for himself what he actually needs. It is a good idea to begin by purchasing the complete set consisting of a tool, battery and charger. All components are also available individually. Anyone who already owns a battery and charger can, for example, purchase the desired tool to go with them or a second battery if required. The advantage of having multiple batteries is that you can work without being forced to take breaks: the empty battery is recharged while the full battery is being used.

All tools in the 10.8 volt “Power4All” family at a glance

New from July 2013:
PST 10,8 LI multi saw
An absolute innovation for do-it-yourselfers is the small, handy PST 10,8 LI multi saw. It combines the functionality of a jigsaw and a saber saw in one tool. This is made possible by its innovative SDS system: for the first time, the jigsaw blade can be fitted in the tool in two different directions. If you turn the saw teeth forwards, the tool is guided like a jigsaw. This is good for when you want to saw precisely, for example when shortening laminate. If you turn the saw teeth backwards, the PST 10,8 LI can be used like a saber saw and can, for example, prune branches. The maximum cutting depth is 30 millimeters. All jigsaw blades with a T-shank can be used. The saw blade is automatically ejected. Safety during sawing is ensured by the finger guard fitted on the front of the tool.

Uneo – now with 10.8 instead of 14.4 volts
The Uneo combines three functions in one tool: hammering, drilling and screwdriving. From July, this multi-talented tool in the 10.8 volt family will replace the previous Uneo with 14.4 volts. The tool is amazingly powerful: due to the new battery generation, the Uneo with 10.8 volts offers the same level of performance as its predecessor with 14.4 volts. It is also equipped with two gears: in second gear, it now delivers even more power for screwdriving. Another advantage is its shorter charging time of only one hour. The tool’s features also include the tried-and-tested SDS-Quick system for quick, easy accessory changes, softgrip coverings on the handle for a secure and comfortable hold, and the “PowerLight” which reliably illuminates the work environment.

PLI 10,8 LI torch
The PLI 10,8 LI torch excels due to its long runtime: it lights for up to twelve hours with one battery charge. The torch weighs only 300 grams including battery, sits comfortably in your hand thanks to its slim grip circumference and is easy to take anywhere due to its length of 16 centimeters. The integrated Power-LED provides good illumination: it offers a luminous flux of 110 lumens, which is equivalent to the brightness of a small LED spotlight for living areas.

Already available in the Bosch range:
PSR 10,8 LI-2 drill/driver
The PSR 10,8 LI-2 stands for great freedom of movement and low user fatigue. It is small and compact and weighs only 950 grams. Its two-speed planetary gearbox and the powerful motor ensure powerful screwdriving at low speeds and comfortable drilling at high speed. Its maximum torque is 22 newton meters, while the maximum drilling diameter in wood is 20 millimeters. Screws up to six millimeter diameter can also be driven.

PSB 10,8 LI-2 combi drill
The PSB 10,8 LI-2 is designed for small to medium screwdriving, drilling and impact drilling applications, for example for mounting wardrobe rails or fitting wall units. The tool weighs only one kilogram and is equipped with two gears and 20 torque settings plus a drill and impact drill setting. The maximum drilling diameters are 20 millimeters in wood, eight millimeters in steel and six millimeters in masonry. Screwdriver and drill bits can be changed quickly and easily thanks to the Autolock keyless chuck.

PSM 10,8 LI multi-sander
The PSM 10,8 LI is a powerful and extremely lightweight and handy multi-sander. It is suitable for smaller to medium applications such as sanding down garden benches, window frames and smaller pieces of furniture. The tool weighs only 700 grams and is equipped with “Power Automatic”: if the do-it-yourselfer increases the pressure applied to the tool, the PSM 10,8 LI automatically increases its power. When the amount of pressure is reduced, the power drops again and you can carry on working gently. This results in evenly sanded surfaces and rapid work progress.

PMF 10,8 LI multifunction tool
The PMF 10,8 LI is a versatile renovation helper. Whether special plunge cuts have to be made in worktops or flush cuts need to be made in door frames, parquet, copper pipes, protruding nails or screws: do-it-yourselfers can use this tool to effortlessly and quickly saw, cut, sand and scrape. During work, the PMF 10,8 LI sits securely and comfortably in your hand at all times thanks to its slim grip circumference and large softgrip coverings.

AHS 35-15 LI and AHS 45-15 LI hedgecutters
The AHS 35-15 LI and AHS 45-15 LI hedgecutters are compact tools for cutting small, young hedges. With a weight of 1.9 and two kilograms respectively, they are very light and also amazingly powerful. This is thanks not only to the optimized gear and motor unit, but also the combination of high cutting speed, long battery runtime and high cutting capacity. Both hedgecutters have diamond-ground blades with a length of 35 and 45 centimeters respectively. They offer a tooth opening of 15 millimeters and are equipped with an “Anti-Blocking” system.

The PST 10,8 LI multi saw, the new Uneo and the PLI 10,8 LI torch will be available at retail outlets from July 2013 onwards. All other tools in the 10.8 volt “Power4All” family are already available. A “Power4All” logo on the packaging indicates which tools belong to the cordless family.
