The Glue Pen from Bosch sets new standards in hot gluing: it is especially small and handy thanks to its new pen shape, and its fine nozzle enables precise work. This makes hot gluing suitable as an everyday task. Whether you need to seal parcels, glue a nose onto a hand-knitted teddy bear or fix a loose knob on a cupboard: everything from classical craft and repair work through to packing gifts can be done.

The Glue Pen is easy to operate: insert a glue stick, switch on the tool, wait 15 seconds, and then you can use the hot glue to glue virtually all materials such as paper, cardboard, textiles, leather, cork as well as wood, metal, plastic and even stone. The glue sets within seconds and you do not have to dry and press the joined parts for them to hold.

Especially fine gluing nozzle with automatic glue retraction
The gluing nozzle of the Glue Pen is much finer than the one on a hot glue gun. This enables the glue to be applied more precisely. Another advantage is the tool’s small and handy design: the user can also use the Glue Pen in places that cannot be reached with a hot glue gun. Gluing with the Glue Pen is also clean: when you let go of the feed button, the surplus glue is automatically pulled back into the tool. This enables virtually drip-free and very clean working. In addition to this, hot gluing technology means that the applicator tip cannot stick or clog like conventional tubes of glue do. The hot glue sticks that are used also offer advantages compared to conventional glues: they can be stored for a very long time and do not dry out.

Safe work with the Glue Pen from Bosch
The innovative heating element of the Glue Pen is extremely small and heats only the nozzle and the tool head which it is built into. Thanks to its recessed grip, which is a common feature on fountain pens, the tool sits securely and comfortably in your hand. It ensures that the user does not accidentally touch the nozzle and tool head when holding the tool.

This cordless tool has an integrated lithium-ion battery and offers the user maximum freedom of movement. The lithium-ion battery has hardly any self-discharge and is ready to use at all times – even when lengthy breaks are taken between the individual applications. It also has no memory effect, so the battery can be recharged at any time without the user having to accept a deterioration in battery performance. Up to six glue sticks can be used with one battery charge. The battery is charged using a charger with a micro USB port.

The Glue Pen will be available at retail outlets from May 2013 onwards at a recommended retail price of 39.99 euros including VAT. It is supplied with a micro USB charger and four glue sticks.

Refill sticks with a diameter of seven millimeters are available in the Bosch range of accessories. For all conventional applications Bosch recommends the “Ultra Power” glue sticks which are designed for high loads. Ten sticks are available at a recommended retail price of 3.15 euros. Transparent glue sticks are suitable for when the glue has to be invisible, for example when gluing glass. They are designed for medium loads. The recommended retail price is 2.80 euros per pack of ten.
