press release

In addition to its cordless model, Bosch will in future offer do-it-yourselfers two new corded multifunction tools: the PMF 190 E and the PMF 250 CES. They enable users to perform detailed work, repair work and adjustment work such as sawing, sanding or cutting just as quickly and effortlessly as the corded predecessor model. However, these tools are even more convenient: they generate less vibration thanks to their optimized design and are more comfortable to handle thanks to their smaller grip circumference and extended softgrip covering.

The PMF 190 E replaces the PMF 180 E and has 190 watts, making it even more powerful than its predecessor. It has speed pre-selection, which enables the speed of the oscillation to be adjusted so that it suits the workpiece material perfectly.

PMF 250 CES with SDS system and Constant Electronic
For the first time, the PMF 250 CES enables accessories to be changed without the need for additional tools thanks to its SDS system. To change the accessory, the flush integrated lever on the top of the tool is unlocked and turned counterclockwise until the accessory is released. Then the new accessory is attached and the lever is turned clockwise to lock it again. Another advantage of the PMF 250 CES is its Constant Electronic, which ensures that the tool maintains its full power of 250 watts even under load. The auxiliary handle, which can be mounted on the side of the tool, supports precise and controlled operation, as does the tool's soft start function.

Unique depth stop for four sawing depths
Both tools now have a four-stage depth stop for segment saw blades. It is mounted in only a few moves: the saw blade is removed, the ring-shaped depth stop is slid onto the gear head of the tool, and the saw blade is fitted again. Four sawing depths can be set by turning the depth stop over the section of the blade you want to saw with: eight, ten, twelve and fourteen millimeters can be set with the supplied segment saw blade which has a diameter of 85 millimeters. If a saw blade with 100 millimeter diameter is used, the interval increases to sawing depths of 14, 16, 18 and 20 millimeters as a result of the larger radius.

Comprehensive range of Bosch accessories
Bosch's range of accessories offers many attachments to fit both tools. Not only are scrapers, plunge-cutting saw blades and Riff segment saw blades available, but also, for example, an attachable vacuum cleaner adapter for sanding work and the “Expert” depth stop for segment and plunge-cutting saw blades, which can be adjusted in 1.2-millimeter steps.

The PMF 190 E and PMF 250 CES multifunction tools will be available at retail outlets from October 2012 onwards at the recommended retail price of 99.99 euros and 159.99 euros respectively. They are supplied in a carrying case including a segment saw blade for wood and metal (85 millimeter diameter), a plunge-cutting saw blade for wood, a delta sanding plate with six sanding sheets in three different grits, and the four-stage depth stop. The PMF 250 CES also comes complete with the handle and a scraper. There are also two sets available: the PMF 190 E-Set with four additional accessories for a price of 149.99 euros and the PMF 250 CES-Set with three additional accessories for a price of 199.99 euros. All prices are including VAT.
