press release

Munich – Many small and medium-sized businesses have similar security requirements as large applications but often lack sufficient funds to recruit their own security personnel or invest in professional security technology. With “Cloud-based Security & Services“, Bosch Security Systems now provides a video monitoring service specifically designed for this group: It secures buildings remotely via the internet and allows users to stay in touch with the situation at their business premises via an app at any time. Bosch could rely on the in-house expertise of its product and service divisions throughout the entire product development and implementation. “Cloud-based Security & Services“ will be available at the end of this year.

24/7 Live Intervention
Employees at the Bosch Communication Center monitor sites using remote video surveillance and process all incoming warnings and alarms 24/7. If an alarm is activated, the agent will intervene directly by issuing an audio message at the premises. This requires a Bosch IP video camera and loudspeaker to be installed.
Data is transferred via a secure internet connection to the Bosch Security Cloud. The Bosch Security Cloud is an in-house IT infrastructure from Bosch within the Bosch Communication Center that fulfills the high security requirements of EN 50518. Digital video recorders for local data storage and video transmission devices are no longer required, relieving the customer from having to buy and maintain any complicated technology.

Furthermore, the internet solution allows connecting several operating sites without significant additional costs, so premises can be surveyed even if they are dispersed or located in remote areas.

Business process support
In addition to site protection and damage prevention, customers can also use “Cloud-based Security & Services” to support their business processes. For example, based on the video data, customer traffic reports can be produced in order to optimize processes.

Simple installation
The installation of “Cloud-based Security & Services” is particularly user-friendly. The cameras can be mounted by an electrician and connected to the Bosch Security Cloud via plug and play in a matter of minutes. The camera is automatically recognized by the system and can be configured remotely. A particular network configuration, such as disabling the firewall, is not required.
