press release

After launching the first power tool with lithium-ion technology in 2003, the first cordless screwdriver with corkscrew adapter in 2010, and the first screwdriver to also sparkle in many handbags with its 700 Swarovski stones, Bosch is now launching another new edition of the world’s most popular power tool onto the market: the Ixo Spice with a spice mill adapter. Be it salt, pepper or chili – there are no dried spices or spice blends that it can’t mill. Simply mount the spice mill adapter containing the desired ingredients onto the Ixo and press the red button to put the finishing touch to your food. The Ixo Spice will be available at retail outlets from October onwards for 59.99 euros. A Gourmet Set will also be available, containing both the Ixo Spice and the Ixo Vino adapter for opening wine bottles in its new stainless steel design, for 69.99 euros. Both versions come complete with the accustomed set of ten screwdriver bits.

To mark the launch of the Ixo Spice, Bosch will also offer prize draw activities and recipe tips from October onwards on the Facebook page www.facebook.com/BoschDIYpowertoolsUK and at www.bosch-ixo.com. Videos about cooking with the Ixo Spice can also be watched on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/BoschHeimwerkenDE.

About the Ixo from Bosch
When a cordless screwdriver sells about eleven million units worldwide, then it must have had its finger firmly on the pulse of its time. The Ixo from Bosch even achieved something more than this, revolutionizing the DIY market in 2003 with its lightweight design. In a world full of heavy, large and clunky power tools, the Ixo presented itself as a lightweight, small and handy alternative. Its practical “always ready” functionality, coupled with its slimline design, quickly made it a sought-after alternative to the classical hand screwdriver and ultimately resulted in it becoming the world’s most popular power tool.

Further seasonal special editions are planned.
