press release

Stuttgart/Reutlingen, Germany – Claus Fleischer is taking over as head of Reutlingen-based Bosch eBike Systems as of July 1, 2012. He takes over from Rainer Jeske, who was in charge of the product division since it was launched in 2009. Mr. Jeske is retiring after over 30 years with Robert Bosch GmbH and will continue to be at the company's service in an advisory capacity. In Fleischer the technology and services enterprise has named a product developer with international experience to head Bosch eBike Systems.

Claus Fleischer, 44, has been with Bosch since 1995, latterly at the company's Stuttgart head office as assistant to the Bosch Group CEO in charge of corporate planning on technical matters. From the beginning of 2007 until the end of 2009 he was head of brake systems development in Farmington Hills, Michigan, USA.

The eBike market is a market with a future
“For Bosch, eBike systems are an important market with a great future all over the world, especially as a contribution toward urban mobility concepts,” says Dr. Volkmar Denner, Managing Director and from July 1, 2012 Bosch's new CEO. With his new task in mind, Claus Fleischer says “the eBike market has enormous growth potential for quality providers of optimally coordinated components in particular. This is an area in which we will continue to rely on Bosch's high level of system competence. I am looking forward to making our eBike team's contribution toward electromobility. We owe Rainer Jeske a debt of gratitude for his outstanding work in setting up the product division.”
