High power and low weight: GWS 26 LVI Professional from Bosch is the lightest large angle grinder in its class

The GWS 26 LVI Professional large angle grinder from Bosch is designed for tough cutting and grinding applications, for example in civil engineering and ship building. You can choose between a model with 180-millimeter disc and a model with 230-millimeter disc. Both models offer high power while simultaneously reducing user fatigue because they weigh only 5.5 and 5.6 kilograms respectively, making them the lightest tools in the 2600 watt class. They are more than ten percent lighter than their predecessor. This is made possible by the new high-performance motor with Constant Electronic because it is 25 percent shorter while simultaneously increasing efficiency by 25 percent.

Low-fatigue, comfortable working
Due to its decoupled main and side handles, the angle grinder generates up to 40 percent less vibration than tools without vibration damping. Moreover, it is easier and safer to handle due to its bow handle that can be rotated 90 degrees to the left and 90 degrees to the right. This ensures comfortable handling and safe tool control especially when cutting mate­rials. This is additionally supported by softgrip on the machine’s handle.

The tool’s extensive safety features include a kick-back stop that imme­diately shuts down the machine if it jams, an anti-rotation protective guard that protects the user if the disc breaks, and a restart protection that prevents the machine from automatically restarting after a power cut. The GWS 26 LVI Professional also has a soft start and an SDS quick-locking nut for quick and easy accessory changes. Bosch offers a comprehensive range of grinding, sanding and cutting discs. The Bosch diamond cutting discs are recommended for extremely good cutting results with rapid work progress.

Both versions of the GWS 26 LVI Professional angle grinder will be available at specialist retail outlets from May 2012 onwards at the recommended retail price of 299 euros plus VAT. They are supplied in a carton including auxiliary handle, protective guard, and clamping system.
