Small, handy, self-explanatory: the PTK 3,6 LI cordless tacker from Bosch. This tool is only about 15 x 16 x 5 centimeters in size, weighs just less than 800 grams and you can take it anywhere with you. This is made possible by the integrated lithium-ion battery. This is the first time it is being used in Bosch tackers and it offers numerous advantages: “Tackers are normally used to fasten thin materials on wood, to upholster furniture or to decorate, for example, at Easter and Christmas”, explains product manager Heidrun Birk. “Lithium-ion batteries have hardly any self-discharge, so they are ready to use at any time, even if they have not been used for a lengthy period of time between individual applications.” The batteries also have no memory effect, so they can be recharged at any time ensuring the user of minimal deterioration in battery performance.

Versatile in the house and garden
Lithium-ion batteries are very compact, which allows for small tool dimensions and makes it especially easy to use the tacker in a versatile way in the house and garden: for example to fit the latest fabrics to chair upholstery, to fit a new roof felt to the birdhouse in the garden or to fit decorations for a garden party. When the battery is fully charged, it has enough power to drive at least 400 staples into softwood. The conventional type 53 fine wire staples are used. These are 11.4 millimeters wide and four to ten millimeters long. The charging state of the battery is indicated by LED.

Easy operation
To drive staples, you simply press the PTK 3,6 LI against the workpiece, which pushes the tacking nose downwards, and then you squeeze the trigger to fire the staple. This two-stage “Push+Release” system enables the staples to be positioned precisely, and it prevents unintentional triggering. The cordless tacker sits securely and comfortably in your hand during work due to its softgrip coverings. The reload indicator at the foot of the tool shows you at all times how full the staple magazine is. When the magazine is empty, you can gently pull it out with ease, refill it from underneath and then reinsert it. When the tacker is not in use, it can be conveniently stored together with the charger and tacker staples in its metal box.

The PTK 3,6 LI cordless tacker will be available from March 2012 onwards at the recommended retail price of 69.99 euros including VAT. It comes complete with the five-hour charger including charge connector and 1,000 fine wire staples which are type 53 and eight millimeters long. Additional fine wire staples are available to be purchased as accessories.
