From homes to mobility, connected, smart devices are transforming the way people live. Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, will showcase its connected products at 2015 International CES in its booth, #71032, at the Sands Expo and at the Vehicle Intelligence Marketplace at North Plaza near the Las Vegas Convention Center. Bosch is the presenting sponsor for both marketplaces. According to Werner Struth, member of the board of management, Robert Bosch GmbH and chairman of Robert Bosch LLC, Bosch has a laser beam focus on innovation in aspects like technology and services, and considers the entire user experience: “Not many people know the full depth and breadth of Bosch’s portfolio. Frankly, that is one of the reasons we come to CES. We want to help others understand our company. When people start to look at our portfolio, they begin to realize our company’s vision and know that ‘Invented for life’ is more than a tagline; it guides our products, our people and our principles.” Bosch is using its strong presence at CES to show smart solutions from around the world. With its sensors, software and service, Bosch provides solutions that are designed to enable consumers to lead convenient, sustainable and secure lives. These sustainable solutions for a connected world range from smart sensors to smart energy solutions, from eMobility to automated driving, from smart software to smart cities, from telematics to thermotechnology, and from home appliances to power tools. As a world leader in microelectromechanical sensors (MEMS), Bosch improves lives through technologies that enhance, secure and connect a wide range of automotive and consumer electronics applications. Smart Home At 2015 International CES, Bosch is showcasing several solutions for advancing convenient, sustainable and secure living for the connected home. Bosch is announcing the BME680 gas sensor – the world’s first environmental sensor measuring gas, temperature, humidity and pressure in a 3mm x 3mm package. This sensor allows consumers to: monitor and manage air quality in a room by opening and closing windows or managing air flow; monitor personal fitness and offer recommendations to improve personal well-being; and monitor home automation and the environment, as well as personalized weather forecasts. Bosch is also helping homeowners take complete control of their heating and hot water with Bosch’s Wi-Fi-enabled Remote Room Controller. From wherever they are, homeowners can monitor and control home heating, cooling and water temperatures by using an app for smartphones and tablets. Home Connect is another application that makes lives easier. Available via smartphone, tablet or wireless LAN internet connection, Home Connect acts as a control center for the family of Bosch-related brand appliances that have a WirelessLan communication module configured for the app. The app allows homeowners to control appliances, like the oven, dishwasher or refrigerator, and to access a host of services while they are away from home. In addition, Bosch is working around the world to maintain safety and security for individual homes and large commercial venues. While already offering a broad portfolio of internet protocol (IP) products, the division is showing its recently developed B-Series control panels – a family of flexible control panels that include two models that meet the needs of a wide variety of facility configurations. The panels provide intrusion detection, which allows users to verify if alarms indicate a true risk through video snapshots sent via email or through live camera access from a smart phone. Text messages also notify users of events. Smart Mobility Bosch’s largest business sector, Mobility Solutions, continuously strives to make driving safer, cleaner and more economical. At CES, Bosch will present hardware, software and services for connected mobility. Smart phone integration solutions and head-up displays will help make driving more convenient. Traffic jam assist, an advanced safety and driver assistance system, will also be shown at CES. By coupling radar and video technology, traffic jam assist controls longitudinal and lateral movements of the vehicle in congested traffic, returning control to the driver if necessary to change lanes or if obstacles are detected. Beyond the automobile, Bosch is advancing technology on another side of the mobility spectrum: eBikes. Bosch is the market leader for eBike drive systems in Europe. CES attendees can experience an eBike on the course at the Vehicle Intelligence Marketplace. At its booth, Bosch will exhibit a technology for the eBike that will soon be introduced. Nyon is the first all-in-one connected eBike cycle computer with an integrated navigation and fitness function. Equipped with comprehensive basic functions, Nyon can be adapted to the needs of the rider with a smartphone app and online portal. Its housing is waterproof and rugged enough to be used in the rain and off-road. From the road to the home, Bosch has developed connected systems and technology that are Invented for life.
