Welcome to the 2022 new year’s media briefing

Dear media representatives,

We’re delighted to have you join us for this year’s media briefing. Below are a few guidelines for taking part. Please familiarize yourself with them prior to the event.

The media briefing will be livestreamed in two languages, German and English. The main conference language is German with simultaneous interpretation into English. Participants may ask questions in English. The conference starts at 17:00 CET, and the Q&A session is expected to take place from 17:30 to 18:30 CET.

Dialing into the livestream

The media briefing will start off as a livestream, which will appear directly at the top of this event page on the day of the event.

Dialing into the Q&A

  • For the subsequent Q&A session, we will additionally be broadcasting via Microsoft Teams. If you would like to take part in the Q&A session, please dial into the Microsoft Teams meeting. You can find this link directly below the livestream window. If you have no questions, feel free to stay tuned to the livestream to continue following the media briefing in HD quality. The exact procedure will be explained to you again at the beginning of the briefing by our facilitator Prof. Christof Ehrhart.

Dialing into the Q&A and preparing your device

  • Please select the dial-in link for your chosen language (see above).
  • On the login screen, please select whether you are dialing in using an installed application or the web browser on your device.
  • Note: If you have Microsoft Teams installed on your device, and especially if you already have a user account (professional or personal), we recommend using this application to dial in. Alternatively, you can access the conference from a web browser, but please be aware that some functions may not be available if you do. If you need to install the application on your professional or personal device, please observe the manufacturer’s instructions. To make the dial-in process as smooth as possible, we recommend using a laptop or PC.
  • More information about dialing in:
After clicking on the link provided, you have three options:
    • Download Windows app (free): Download the Teams desktop app.
    • Continue in this browser: Join a Teams meeting via your web browser.
    • Open your Teams app: If you already have the Teams app, you can access the meeting directly.

  • Enter your name and media outlet.
  • Select your audio and video settings.
  • Select Join now.
  • Depending on the meeting settings, you may be able to join immediately. If not, you will be directed to a waiting area and someone in the meeting will let you in.

Tips and things to keep in mind for the Q&A

  • To maintain the conversational nature of the conference as far as possible, the idea is for everyone to take part with video and audio. The Bosch representatives in the studio will be able to see the participating journalists, while the journalists will see the video from the studio on their devices. For this to work, please activate the video function on your device.
  • To ensure high image quality, make sure there is sufficient light where you are sitting. If you are dialing in from home or somewhere private, you can apply the background filter function in Microsoft Teams to blur out your background. Use a headset if possible to ensure good sound and speech quality, especially for the Q&A session. Participation is reserved for you personally as a representative of the media. We want to have a collaborative and open environment among a small group of participants, so please bear this in mind with regard to any third parties who may be listening in. As is the case when participating in the conference in person, it is not permitted to take any photos or make any video or audio recordings of the event for direct publication. If possible, please dial in 5 minutes before the start of the video conference to familiarize yourself with the setup.
  • See the following link to “Join a Teams meeting” for guidance from the manufacturer.

Details of the Q&A session

  • At the beginning of the video conference, all participants will be automatically put on mute. Our facilitator, Prof. Christof Ehrhart, will open the Q&A session. To ask a question, please click "raise your hand" in MS Teams.
  • Prof. Christof Ehrhart, will call on the journalists in the order their questions are submitted. Once you are called on, turn on your microphone; you will then be able to speak your question just as you normally would at this event. We regret that for technical reasons it is not possible to participate in this event by phone. The Microsoft Teams Chat is for technical or organizational questions only.

Technical troubleshooting

  • If you haven’t used Microsoft Teams before or have questions about installing it, we recommend contacting your newsroom’s IT support prior to the event. Should you need technical support during the event, you can reach one of our IT service technicians, Dörthe Warnk, at +49(172) 1538714 or +49(173) 5866990 Simon Schmitt.
