The new Quigo Green from Bosch has a very apt name: Just like its predecessor, the cross line laser works with a green laser diode which is up to four times more visible to the human eye than a red laser diode. In addition, it is the first measuring tool from Bosch whose housing and accessories are made of 90 percent recycled plastic. As early as in product development stage, the focus was to reduce the CO2 footprint from the product and the accessories through to packaging. The new packaging is therefore also made of 70 percent recycled paper, has an environmentally friendly water-based coating, and no longer contains any plastic foils inside. The size of the packaging was also optimized: As small as possible so that the maximum number of tools can be transported simultaneously. In addition, the new Quigo Green consumes 50 percent less energy than its predecessor thanks to optimized electronics ‒ all of which helps to save CO2 and reduce waste. Bosch is systematically working to improve the sustainability of the entire value chain. A special team was created for this purpose. It continuously examines and implements suitable measures throughout the world, for example regarding recycling of packaging and power tools. The main objectives are to reduce the CO2 footprint of products in the long term and to promote a circular economy.
